The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse

Chapter 733: Meeting (2)

The next image to appear in the projection is that of a 3-meter-tall Shadow Wolf.

"That is the Serpent Tail Shadow Wolf. It commands thousands of different types of wolves, with the most dangerous ones being the shadow ones.

They are fast and deadly. The last time we clashed with them, we lost close to 40 men, and we only managed to kill 26 of them from a pack of 340.

This shows just how dangerous they are. Of course, they are much weaker if you can match up to their speed."

Klaus nodded.

The Shadow Wolves are a race that almost looks like Hellhounds.

Before the apocalypse, they were just wolves, but now, they have become monstrous to the point that even Overlords wouldn't be able to fight them all confidently.

But even if the only eight Overlords were to be present in all seven Badlands, the chances of the hidden dangers overwhelming them is something they wouldn't risk.

In a way, they are sacrificing the soldiers' lives in the hope that a change will come. Klaus wouldn't blame them.

When the apocalypse descended, humanity lost close to 75% of its population, with the majority of them becoming zombies.

So, although human life is cherished, they can't just sit and watch everything come undone again. But now, they are putting measures in place to handle all these threats.

It is Klaus's aim to ensure Earth becomes safe before the awakening arrives.

"The third is the Stone Lava Lion. It's a purely flame beast that also has an affinity for the Earth element. We only clashed with it twice.

Naturally, we wouldn't want to fight it anymore, so when it stopped evading us, we let it be. The dangers surrounding it are just too much," the four generals sighed.

There used to be five generals, but one fell when they faced this bastard.

"Then comes the Stone Carapace Tortoise. This one is even more monstrous with its defense than the Diamond Body Brute Elephant.

It has the earth's elemental affinity, and from the look of its body, we wouldn't want to find out just how strong it truly is, so we only spied on it.

The day we fought it, not even our laser guns were able to do much."

"It's even a miracle this place is still standing. The Stone Carapace Tortoise is a monster in its own right when it comes to defense and destruction." A glint appeared in Klaus's eyes when he said that.

He wanted to get it and transform it into a beast.

"What are you hiding, Klaus?" Nari cleared her throat.

"Nothing big. Just that the day this monster evolves, we will see the terror of a defense-type beast." He smiled, returning his mind to his and Yuying's battle against the Metal Carapace Demon Tortoise.

Back then, they went to retrieve one of the many items Klaus's third incarnation left in the tormented world.

Unfortunately for them, the Metal Carapace Demon Tortoise, an evolved version of the one shown in the projection, had made that place its own.

It was a Tier 11 beast, and Fruity was just a Tier 9 Unknown being. Even Yuying, a Tier 11 existence back then, could not crack its metal shell.

Fruity had to leave, and when he became a Tier 11 (Void Stage) existence, he returned, this time packing much more punch.

It was an entire day of battle, which showed him just how monstrous it was.

He promised himself then that if he met one in the future, he would tame it and make it fight for him. Now, he couldn't wait to meet this brute.

"So, you are planning on taming it?" Queenie asked.

"Naturally, of course. If we kill it, it will be a huge loss to Earth." He smiled, knowing he was bound to have fun in this Badland.

The Overlords, generals, and instructors around could only shake their heads.

They may have heard all about monsters hiding in the Badlands, but they knew the real monster was the white-haired, harmless-looking human in front of them.

"The next is the Dark Fur Flaming Panther. Among all the monsters we have shown, this one is a true monster, but it hasn't attacked us actively. It only attacks whenever we get close to its territory.

So we don't know much about it. But we also wouldn't want to enter its domain for it's not a place we can step casually"

"As for the last one, we call it the Tiger Lord. It is also a flame-type monster with hundreds of monsters under it. The last time it attacked was a month ago.

It has an ability that allows it to summon flame-type monsters, so whenever we clash, we only battle these summons. It's one annoying monster we want to get rid of for years now."

"It doesn't summon flaming monsters, General; it has been making them. In fact, you and your men have been helping it all this while without knowing it," Klaus said, causing the generals to shift in their seats.

"What do you mean by we have been helping them?" General Eric asked.

Klaus didn't answer. Instead, he extended his hand, and a white flame appeared in his palm. The flame then transformed into a bird.

Small at first, but it started to increase in size until it reached a wingspan of half a meter. He then put it away.

"If your memories serve you right, the first time you faced it, the flaming monsters were small and weak."

The generals nodded.

"Then it went from there to medium, and now, you are battling monsters between the Tier 6 and 8 stages."

"How did you know that?" General Manas asked.

"I know because the Tiger in the projection is not a normal monster. In fact, it is a hybrid of a human and a monster, and if I am not wrong, the human side of it is the one in control now.

However, it is still a monster at heart.

But the main reason I said you have been training it is that whenever you kill a flaming monster, you are actually tempering this hybrid flame manipulation ability.

In a way, once this hybrid reaches the stage it wants to be at, which wouldn't be long now, it will burn this place to the ground. This was a way to commemorate its breakthrough.

This hybrid should instead be called the Infernal Tiger Lord Mage, for it is one that has great control over the flames. In fact, if you want to kill any monster in this Badland, that monster must be handled first."

Klaus offloaded the truth on them, and the backs of everyone, except the Queen and the Void Stage beauties, broke into a cold sweat.

"But I will tame it, so don't worry too much."

"You brat... why didn't you lead with that?" Old Lu said, and Klaus smiled. However, just when he was about to ask a question, a powerful shockwave washed over everyone, making them freeze momentarily.

"Klaus, we have a problem," Queen Lunara said the next second, standing up.

In her hand was a device beeping.

At the same time, one of the star tattoos, the fifth one to be exact, glowed, making anger that is buried deep in his heart start to surface.

The roof of the building they were in burst open as Klaus rushed out, shocking everyone.
