chapter 30
30 – Red Moon-1
“How far do I have to walk?”
“You have to walk about 10 minutes. It’s a high-end dessert shop. It’s in the center of the city.”
“I’m sorry to accept something so expensive…”
“It’s okay. It’s not a waste of money to spend on my brother.”
My brother is successful, so it’s nice to get something delicious.
huh? But in the distance, it seems like I can see some kind of flame… .
-bang!!!
A building in the distance exploded with a bang.
I don’t know if it was a powerful bomb or the ability of an A-class Awakener, but it was such a big explosion that a large building disappeared without a trace.
The funny thing is that even when a building that big exploded, the shock wave didn’t spread. The surrounding buildings were all intact and people were not blown away.
“These are how the city manages.”
“Shall we go sometime?”
Seeing that the building in the city she had lived in was blown up, she seemed very angry.
“I’m sorry. I was on a date.”
“I’m fine. How do you keep dating when it’s such a big deal?”
When I went to the building with Ha-yeon, the area around the building was completely messed up.
Everyone in the building seemed already dead, and countless others were in agony, including those who were crushed under rubble and those who were screaming in panic.
“Some crazy bastard is causing terror inside Sol?!”
When Ha-yeon showed off her powers, all the debris disappeared in an instant.
Although the injured people could not be treated, additional damage could be prevented.
Fortunately, the security guards who saw the building blow up were quickly dispatched and escorted out the injured.
Less than 5 minutes after the building exploded, I wondered what the hell the system was like to start like this.
“Excuse me, but are you Captain Hayeon?”
“Yes, it’s me. What the hell happened to this?”
Among the guards approaching the building, the most senior-looking person spoke to Ha-yeon.
Whether it was because she wasn’t friendly with that person or because it was an emergency, Ha-yeon’s tone was as sharp as when I met Ha-yeon after a long time.
“It’s the Red Moon’s work.”
“What? Red moon? Weren’t they all wiped out?”
“A traitor came out from within the Sun Guild. Because of that, it has been making a lot of noise lately, and these guys have caused a terrorist attack in the middle of the city.”
The man’s eyes were burning with genuine anger.
It was the first time I saw it, but if there was a hero, wouldn’t it be this kind of person? He was the kind of man I wanted to be.
‘It’s a red moon… .`
A group of famous villains. Surely it was a group of extreme personalities that the powerful Awoken had to dominate and exploit all non-Awoken?
Basically, the position was to expand the rights of the Awakened, so when it was going well, some guild members within the Sun Guild also declared that they supported the Red Moon. Although he was kicked out as soon as he started an all-out war with the red moon… .
After Ha-yeon and the leader of the Sun Guild won the war against the Red Moon, I thought it was completely gone, but it seems there are still remnants left.
“If you don’t mind, can you help us catch the Red Moon guys? The guild leader is attacking the gate, so Ha Yeon-nim is the only S-class Awakener in Sol.”
Hayeon glanced at me.
“It’s okay. Isn’t the city dangerous? As an S-class Awakener, protecting the city is more important than me.”
Hayeon opened her mouth with a determined expression.
“There are conditions.”
“Yes?”
“This is my older brother, no matter what happens, protect him so that he doesn’t get hurt. You, the A-class, protect it yourself, otherwise I can’t help you.”
The man looked at me and Ha-yeon with a puzzled face.
“Okay. Ha-yeon’s move will be much more helpful to the city than mine. I’ll make sure to protect my older brother.”
“Then, where should I go right now?”
“I’ll give you my radio. If you tell the new guard chief, he’ll probably put it in the right place.”
Ha-yeon stole the man’s walkie-talkie.
“Oh, it’s me. Long time no see? Guide me quickly, where should I go?”
After radioing a few times, he disappeared at an invisible speed.
“What’s your name?”
“My name is Suhyun Lee.”
“Soo-hyeon-nim is with me. It’s Ha-yeon-nim’s order, so I’ll protect it even at the cost of my life.”
It was a very trustworthy look with his eyes burning with fire.
Ha-yeon, who cared for me so much, would trust my ability enough to entrust me, right?
“Chief! Lucia is rampaging in District 19 right now, but there is no Awakener who can stop it.”
“What? Wasn’t that bitch in prison?”
Lucia, you were probably the head of the Red Moon, right? A villain whose abilities are so special that even Ha-yeon and the head of the Sun Guild are hard to kill, so they put them in prison.
There was no news that he was ranked S-rank, so he must still be an A-rank awakener. Perhaps if the man in front of me goes, the damage can be reduced enough.
“Aren’t you supposed to go?”
“No. I made a promise to Ha-yeon, but I have to keep it.”
“It’s okay. It’s more important to protect other citizens than me. I’m one person, but there are many of you, right?”
Even though I said it’s okay, he doesn’t start by looking at me to see if his appointment with Ha-yeon will be delayed.
“I’ll tell Ha-yeon well. I said she didn’t need it, so it’ll be fine.”
“… The civil shelter is at the elementary school just down this road. I’m sorry.”
Do you have an elementary school?
“It’s okay. Then go quickly.”
The man ran towards what he believed to be District 19, and I headed for a civil shelter.
After all, is the capital the capital? To prepare shelters in case of emergency. It was a welfare facility that was incomparable to our city.
“Sorry. Unidentified persons are not permitted to enter the shelter.”
Oh right. Wasn’t this the center of town?
As it is a place where only well-to-do people live, it seems that only those who have been identified can enter.
I can’t help it, I’ll have to hide around in moderation.
As I was looking for a decent place to hide, one of the staff who stopped me earlier ran towards me.
“Are you the one who introduced Ha-yeon?”
“Yes, it is.”
“We’re sorry we didn’t recognize you. Please follow us.”
It seems that the man gave me a separate word earlier. To be honest, I didn’t think I’d be in danger this far, but it’s definitely better to stay indoors than wander around in the cold outside.
Whether it was a lack of manpower or the city was busy, there were only two E-class Awakeners guarding the shelter.
I saw non-Awakened personnel holding guns, but it was clear they were bullets for monsters.
It will be effective enough when monsters invade, but it won’t be very useful in a situation where the villains are rampaging like now.
When I looked inside what looked like a gym, there were a lot of people. Looking at the material of the clothes they were wearing, I felt that they were all good people.
‘Then are people on the outskirts of the city exposed to danger?’
It was a reality that if you had no money and no power, you would have to suffer, but for some reason your appetite was bitter.
After that, nothing special happened. Citizens in fear fell into a panic, or a villain that looked between F and E intermittently attacked, but there was no crisis or fear other than being quickly defeated.
‘I’m sure he fights well.’
There were only two E-class awakeners guarding the entrance, but looking at the same level of villains, it seems that Sol’s guards are of a high level even though they are low-level awakeners.
Thanks to that, I was able to be safe, so let’s be sure to say thank you later.
“No, they don’t kill anyone? They’re just here to instill the fear of the Awoken into the non-Awakened bastards.”
Looking outside through the window near the entrance, I saw a man with a completely different atmosphere from the previous villains.
Looking at his outward momentum and the tension of the guards, he was definitely a D-class villain.
In the mood for some reason, I reached for the pistol without realizing it.
‘Please, it shouldn’t be a big deal.’
