Chapter 30: The Journey of Revenge to Love
Anay stopped the jeep in front of the police station and walked in without any delay. Shrey quickly ran after him.
Inside, someone was shouting
"What is all this nonsense! Just because it's my building doesn't mean I beat him up… I don't even know who he is!"
Anay removed his sunglasses and pushed open the door.
"Hey! Who are you, you insolent fellow? How did you get in? Who gave you permission?"
The inspector roared.
"Anay Thakur doesn't walk in with permission… he rules."
Anay replied as he pulled a chair, crossed one leg over the other, and sat down.
Two people in the room froze in shock. Their eyes widened as they stared at Anay the first was Rudransh Rajvansh, and the second, Advika.
They stared as if unsure whether the man before them was really Anay or his lookalike.
Rudransh wore a white shirt and black formal pants, slightly wrinkled as if he'd been forcefully dragged from home. Advika was dressed in a simple cotton salwar-kurta, wrapped in a shawl to keep warm.
"Anay Thakur…?"
The inspector's voice now carried a hint of fear.
"Sir, you...? What brought you here personally..."
Anay casually scratched his brow and, without any expression, said—
"That boy…"
He pointed to Vicky, who had been sitting defiantly, but instantly cowered under Anay's gaze. Beside him, his uncle began trembling.
"I beat him."
Anay said it so casually, as if it were a routine matter for him.
"W-what…?"
"Are you deaf?"
Shrey growled.
His head was already spinning after seeing Rudransh and Advika.
The only relief was that Anay hadn't looked at Advika even once. Shrey's eyes were focused on reading Anay's reactions.
"Forgive us, sir..."
The inspector stammered, folding his hands.
"I want both of them behind bars… right now."
Anay commanded coldly.
The inspector stared at him in disbelief, then immediately lunged at Vicky.
"Have mercy, Malik… he's just a child, made a mistake..."
Vicky's MLA uncle fell at Anay's feet, pleading.
Anay drew his gun, placed it on the man's head, and said—
"No one told you? Anay Thakur only punishes… never forgives."
And with that, he fired a bullet into his shoulder.
The man collapsed to the ground, screaming.
"Let them go..."
Anay gestured toward Rudransh and Advika.
Rudransh stood frozen in shock. And Advika...
She was paralyzed.
The last time she had seen Anay he was covered in blood, gasping his last breaths…
And today…
He was back in his former form, stronger than ever
And the most painful thing?
He didn't even glance at her.
Anay tucked the gun back into his waistband, got up, and walked out with heavy steps. Shrey silently followed him. Outside, Tiwari ji was already waiting he folded his hands in respect upon seeing Anay.
Anay simply nodded.
Just then, a voice called out from behind
"Thakur..."
Anay didn't turn he just paused. Behind him stood Rudransh, with Advika.
"No need to thank me... I came here to do my own work."
Anay replied coldly, still not turning to face them.
Then, looking at Shrey, he said—
"Let's go."
As they walked away, Shrey cast a final, hate-filled look at Advika and left without saying a word.
Rudransh hurried after them
"Thakur..."
Anay stopped, but still didn't turn.
"Why are you pretending you don't know me... Thakur, I... I just want to apologize—"
"What are you mumbling about…"
Anay's voice was icy.
Rudransh was stunned.
Anay now looked at Shrey and asked—
"Do you know him?"
Without a moment's hesitation, Shrey responded, eyes full of disgust
"No."
That single word stabbed deep into Rudransh's soul.
"Thakur...!"
Rudransh was about to say something, but Shrey pulled him back with one swift motion and hissed through gritted teeth
"Keep your mouth shut… or I'll break your face."
"But Thakur..."
Rudransh's eyes were already welling with tears.
"You're alive, aren't you? Safe and sound? You heard him, right? Now get lost."
Shrey's voice was on fire.
"But Shrey… at least once"
"Didn't you hear?
Shrey was about to push him away when a cool, clear voice spoke from behind
"What's going on?"
Anay had seen the two of them whispering, and now he stood watching them both.
Shrey stepped back a bit, then said with venom in his voice
"Nothing... Mr. Rudransh Rajvansh seems a little too eager to meet you..."
Then, with a cold smile, he looked Rudransh straight in the eye and said—
"Apologies, Mr. Rajvansh, we're very busy. So you may leave now."
Saying this, he walked over to Anay, lightly touched his shoulder, and gestured for him to sit.
Anay didn't say a word he simply followed Shrey's lead.
Advika stood there, completely stunned.
Her gaze shifted
To Anay, whom she had once seen on the brink of death.
To Rudransh, who now seemed to be pleading in front of her.
And to Shrey whose words were laced with poison, but whose eyes still only reflected one thing: Anay's safety.
Every face seemed to mirror her past mistakes...
Every word dragged her back to that night when love, betrayal, and death had all entered her life at once.
Her fingers slowly began to tremble.
But she steadied herself and lowered her eyes
Because she had lost the right to ask questions now.
Anay glanced at Tiwari ji and said calmly
"Do visit Thakurpur sometime, Tiwari ji...."
"Of course..." Tiwari ji smiled respectfully and nodded.
Anay got into the driver's seat, with Shrey beside him. He started the car and slowly drove off.
Rudransh stood at the roadside, completely frozen.
After a few moments, he asked softly
"Tiwari ji... that really was Anay Thakur, right?"
Tiwari ji replied gravely
"Yes… it was him. MLA of Thakurpur, Anay Thakur. A few days ago, we had requested him to settle things… but you got caught in it, for which we apologize..."
He folded his hands politely.
Rudransh's eyes widened. His throat dried up.
"No... that Anay... how can he be so calm… so cold..."
He nervously loosened his tie it was getting hard to breathe.
"What's the matter, Rudransh Babu?" Tiwari ji asked, noticing his discomfort.
To be continued...
