The Journey of Revenge to Love

Chapter 26: The Journey of Revenge to Love

"Do you want to say something, Mr. Tiwari?"

Anay asked, sensing the noise hidden in Tiwari Ji's silence.

Tiwari Ji seemed a little startled, then looked away and replied—

"Yes… I needed a little help from you…"

Anay smiled gently and said—

"Tell me, how can I be of service to you?"

"You're embarrassing me, MLA sir…"

Tiwari Ji said with hesitation.

Anay laughed, picked up the cup of tea beside him, took a sip, and said—

"You arranged everything for us food, stay without a single complaint. That's when I realized you have something on your mind."

"You're very perceptive, MLA sir…"

Tiwari Ji said sheepishly.

"Well then, tell me, what's the issue?"

Tiwari Ji's voice dropped slightly—

"There's a local thug here who's been harassing several girls. We'd usually handle it ourselves, but he has powerful connections. We've tried many times… but he always gets away. Even my own sister has been troubled by him…"

He paused for a moment, then continued—

"MLA sir, if you could use one of your contacts to get him punished…"

Anay stayed silent for a few seconds, then smiled slightly—

"I'm not much into social service… but for you, I can manage this. Give all the details to Shrey… we'll take care of the rest."

Relief shone in Tiwari Ji's eyes—

"Thank you so much, MLA sir…"

Anay simply nodded and took the last sip of his tea.

---

As soon as Tiwari Ji left, Shrey snapped—

"Anay, we were supposed to leave today… and you? Why did you have to say yes? It's their problem, let them handle it!"

"That's okay, it's just one more day…"

Anay replied calmly, not looking up as he scrolled through his phone.

Shrey kept staring at him, unease bubbling in his chest. He didn't even understand why.

By afternoon, they had received all the information about the thug.

Anay immediately gave a signal to some of his men — and within hours, the guy was picked up.

He was taken to a half-constructed, abandoned building —

No workers,

No sounds,

No sign of life…

Only silence.

"Boss, we brought him…"

One of Anay's men threw the boy down like a sack of potatoes.

Anay turned.

He was wearing a white kurta, with a silver watch gleaming on his wrist. He brushed his hair back with the same hand and slowly walked up to the boy.

His eyes were fixed directly on the thug's face—

"So… brave, huh? Still harassing girls even after Tiwari Ji warned you? Didn't even spare his sister?"

The boy stammered, then screamed, lifting his head—

"You don't know who I am! My name is Vicky Verma! My uncle is Santosh Verma! A big don! If he finds out about you, he'll have you killed… chopped into pieces!"

*"Lower your voice."

One of Anay's men stepped forward and kicked him hard in the knees.

Vicky screamed in pain.

Anay watched him for a while, then gave another signal to a man.

He picked up a broken wooden plank nearby and struck Vicky straight on the head.

With a painful cry, Vicky collapsed —

Blood started pouring from his head, his vision darkened.

Anay leaned down toward him—

"Seems like you don't know us… I'm Anay Thakur."

"Please… let me go… I won't make any mistakes again… I swear…"

Vicky had joined his hands, begging.

"Oh? Just a moment ago you were so arrogant… and now one hit and you're pleading?"

Anay gave another signal.

Now his men began beating him — kicks, punches, sticks…

Vicky screamed, writhed in pain —

But no one cared.

---

When he was barely conscious,

Anay and his men left him in that condition and walked out.

---

Meanwhile —

Today, Shrey had gone to the market.

Anay had sent him to buy a Banarasi saree for Thakurain.

Shrey was relaxed Anay had his trusted men with him.

He picked up some elegant Banarasi sarees from a mall.

And just as he was about to leave,

his eyes caught sight of a scarf.

The scarves made in purple and magenta colors was worn by the mannequin placed outside a mall.

fluttering in the wind,

as if reviving a forgotten memory.

The moment Shrey saw that color,

an image of Moli flashed in his mind.

His forehead creased slightly,

but the next moment, he shook himself—

"Are you out of your mind…?"

He scolded himself silently,

"What were you thinking… Don't forget, Shrey… love is ruin.

And you need to survive… for your friend."

He looked away.

Shrey packed all the items in the jeep and just as he started the engine,

his eyes landed on the rearview mirror—

And the face he saw in the mirror

froze him on the spot.

For a moment, he forgot to breathe.

The next second—

A storm of rage rose in his eyes,

his fists clenched, jaw tightened.

"You…?"

He whispered.

He didn't even get out of the jeep.

Just sat there,

eyes fixed on the mirror,

and in his mind, the past few years

came rushing back like a whirlwind.

He quickly started the jeep and called Anay.

As soon as the call connected, a voice came from the other side—

"Yeah?"

"Where are you?"

Shrey's voice was sharp and direct.

"On the way to Tiwari Ji's house…"

Anay replied in a normal tone.

"We're leaving Banaras today."

And without waiting for a reply, Shrey hung up the phone.

No questions, no answers.

Anay stared at the screen for a moment…

"What happened to him…?"

He muttered softly.

On the other side, gripping the steering wheel,

Shrey had tears streaming down his face,

but it was like he was at war with himself—

"Boys don't cry, Shrey…"

"They don't…"

He clenched his teeth, lips trembled—

And then he broke down.
