The Journey of Akasha

Chapter 69: Dao of Illusions?

While Akasha was cultivating the rules of space the three instructors were gathered around having a conversation.

"Are they still following us?" Riona asked Liora. Since they left from the secret realm, they all felt as if someone was watching them from the shadows. Liora confirmed this after she told them she spotted a ship hiding.

"Yes, they are getting closer fast. They must have a high-grade artifact or one that specialized in speed." Liora replied to Riona.

"Well, at least I get to stretch my legs a bit. It's been a while since I had a good battle." Jax said

Hearing this Liora turned towards him and grinned.

"No, I will handle it. I want to show off a bit."

"Eh? I haven't saw you fighting in a few thousand years." Riona said.

"Hehe, it won't be much of a fight." Liora said as she began to float into the air.

She then passed through the barrier around the ship. Seeing this Riona stopped the ship and this abrupt stop caught the attention of all the students aboard. They all open their eyes from their cultivation sessions and looked towards the instructors.

"We have little problem, nothing too serious, Vice Dean Liora will handle it and we will continue on our trip." Riona addressed their concerns before they could even voice them.

When they heard this, they turned their attention to Liora, and they saw he standing alone in space looking at the approaching ship.

"Wait! Someone's attacking us?" Kael exclaimed

Hearing his questions the others shook their head and focused on Liora.

Outside of the ship's barrier Liora stood in the vast expanse of space. Her long black hair and her nine tails flowed as if the wind was blowing. She took a moment took look around after looking at the approaching ship.

When she turned around, she noticed Akasha who had too paused his cultivation.

'Huh? Why is out here like this?' She thought to herself before she turned her focus back onto the ship that was coming to a stop.

Out of the ship came a man. This man had horns that were all black and his skin was brown. Behind him he had wings and a tail that had a sharp end.

Seeing the man Liora immediately knew what he was.

"A Demon? Well, that's not totally surprising." As she said this the man laughed while speaking.

"Haha, it's good you recognize what I am. That saves a lot of time. Do you want to do this hard way or the easy way?"

As he said this, he conjured a massive war hammer out of nowhere.

"Heh. This won't be very hard for me at all." Liora grinned as she looked at the demon.

Hearing this the Demon wasted no more time and attacked while saying.

"HAHAHA WELL THIS FINE TOO! A FEW BRUISES WON'T STOP YOU FROM SERVING US!"

He launched himself forward and arrived in front of Liora in an instant. He raised the hammer and smashed down directly on top of Liora's head. And to his surprise the attack reduced the beautiful fox into meat paste.

Looking at this the Demon was a bit confused.

"What the hell? I barely used 70% of my power."

After he said this something shocking happened. The Demon found himself once again exiting the ship. When he exited and saw the fox looking at him, he smiled. He then heard her speak.

"A Demon? Well, that's not totally surprising." As she said this the Demon laughed while speaking.

Eerily the scene repeated in the exact same fashion as a few moments before. He smashed Liora's head and then the scene repeated again.

This happened over and over again. After some time, the demon began using different approaches. Sometimes he summoned fire and burned Liora to death and then sometimes he would even cast race-based abilities that resulted in Liora's death.

But each time she died he would simply restart.

This had been going on for about 10 minutes now and he was currently losing too much mana. In one of the times he restarted he attempted to not attack, but it was if something was forcing him to attack over and over again.

While the Demon was dealing with that situation. Liora herself was currently standing in front of Akasha. She was looking like nothing was going on behind her at all.

Seeing her be so powerful and treating that demon like an ant Akasha smiled and spoke.

"So, fucking sexy!" It was something he said subconsciously but he didn't regret it all.

When Liora heard this, she blushed a little before asking him

"What are you doing out here like this? Moreover, how are you out here like this? You shouldn't be able to survive in space until the Rebirth Rank. The secret realm entrance was an exception because of its unique presence."

"I'm not too sure myself... I just felt comfortable here, so I decided to comprehend the rules of space while we make our way back." Akasha replied before asking

"So, what did you do to that guy?" He said while pointing at the demon who was now pale and breathing heavily.

"Not much, I just put him in a simple illusion. The illusion was power by my Dao which allows it to be so powerful. He will die in a few minutes and so will the other Demons aboard the ship. They are all under my illusion."

"An illusion, huh? You're one dangerous fox haha!" Akasha said while laughing. He didn't question about what the 'Dao' was because he had too much to focus on right now.

'I'll worry about it when the time comes.' He thought before he heard Liora speak out again.

"Hehe, yea I can be very dangerous~ But you can resume your cultivation, we shouldn't have any more problems from now on."

"Alright and I might as well make some new skills while I'm at it."

As he said this Liora left him and joined the others. With the demons stuck in an illusion they continued their trip like nothing ever happened.

Aboard the ship Jovian who was watching the entire thing shook his head before saying.

"Well, that was anti-climactic."

He then resumed his cultivation like the others did.
