Chapter 243: Entrusted with a Great Responsibility
The mature housewife Peng Yunyan was fucked twice by Lin Hao, and climaxed at least seven or eight times; she had never been this wild before.
However, after such an extreme pleasure, her body felt enormously satisfied and relaxed, allowing her to sleep soundly.
Lin Hao spent the night with Su Muyun and Peng Yunyan, two housewives, and although he was physically fit, he was also somewhat tired, so he returned to his guest room and fell deeply asleep.
...
Saturday morning.
Lin Hao finished breakfast and went to the county office, carrying his notebook to meet with Li Jingyi.
Today, Li Jingyi was dressed in a black camisole, layered with a cardigan, and a black pencil skirt, still strikingly beautiful, competent, and bright.
Regarding Zhi Xing Group's capriciousness and breach of agreement, Lin Hao and Li Jingyi's opinions were in sync, that is, no longer wanting to cooperate.
However, Yu Peishan was quite capable in that regard, and Li Jingyi was well aware of it.
Lin Hao suggested handing the project over for Yu Peishan to handle individually, yet Li Jingyi scrutinized him with a discerning gaze, possibly worried that the kid might have some tricks up his sleeve or any ill intentions towards Peishan.
"You little bastard, are you really being so kind as to help Yu Peishan?" Li Jingyi teased.
"Secretary Li, President Yu is your friend, and since she's your friend, she's my friend. We must respect relationships even if not personal, can I not assist?" Lin Hao felt wronged.
"Enough with the nonsense; speak the truth, I want to hear reality." Li Jingyi coldly demanded.
Lin Hao knew he couldn't hide from her and responded with a bitter face: "Such a major project, if executed well, will definitely make money, then... President Yu promised to give us some shares when the time comes, you getting the bigger portion."
"You brat, haven't you learned enough to start gathering wealth with just a small rank? Are you unable to feed yourself?" Li Jingyi showed a hint of exasperation.
"I dare not receive it, others say it's for you..." Lin Hao hastily pulled her in as a shield.
"Are you trying to get me killed? How can you be so reckless? Let me be clear upfront, you can hand the project to her, but no economic entanglements, understood?" Li Jingyi's tone slightly softened.
"Understood." Lin Hao had no choice but to agree.
Actually, he wasn't aiming for that money, since over at Zhang Yuanyuan's side it's already thriving financially; he wanted Zhang Yuanyuan to set up a company to handle this project.
Yet, he was also aware that Zhang Yuanyuan likely lacked the capability, and only by counting on Yu Peishan could such a significant project be completed.
"Qin Ming and Zhao Tingshen won't be coming back. I'll personally oversee the intra-party affairs Qin Ming was responsible for, and for economic matters Zhao Tingshen managed, you'll have to handle the new energy project." Li Jingyi immediately gave him a major responsibility.
"Secretary Li, Zhao Tingshen is the executive deputy county magistrate, his roles should naturally be assumed by the deputy magistrate; why do I have to do this?" Lin Hao was immediately dissatisfied.
"To be blunt with you, investigations into Qin Ming and Zhao Tingshen have directly involved Jiang Yunchao, and additionally your brother-in-law Luo Zhijun too, leaving me apprehensive about appointing other deputy magistrates with such serious matters in case they also have concerns, complicating things further." Li Jingyi finally revealed some insights.
This indirectly revealed that the city's Commission for Discipline Inspection was thoroughly efficient, so swiftly pinpointing Jiang Yunchao and Luo Zhijun.
"Luo Zhijun was also taken away?" Lin Hao feigned slight surprise.
"Luo Zhijun and Shen Sihai are birds of a feather, there's a transfer of interests between them, the city's Commission for Discipline Inspection will soon come down to arrest people." Li Jingyi gave a slight disclosure.
She knew Lin Hao didn't have good relations with this brother-in-law, it was last time Luo Zhijun had fooled around from behind, giving Lin Hao this lucky break and causing things to get tangled between her and Lin Hao.
Luckily, Lin Hao was now divorced, so even if cohabiting with her, others wouldn't catch them on it.
Even still, as the county party secretary, Li Jingyi understood that personal life should be discreet to avoid being exploited by those with ulterior motives.
"This time when the city's Commission for Discipline Inspection comes down, Jiang Yunchao will also be taken away; you must maintain confidentiality publicly for now." Li Jingyi urged.
"Relax, I know how to weigh the consequences." Lin Hao replied.
"This time our Wucheng County is to undergo significant change, you should have the chance to rise, what do you wish to do?" Li Jingyi disclosed another very important message.
Lin Hao was slightly stunned and quickly replied, "Whatever Secretary Li wants me to do, I will do, following organizational arrangements."
"Don't give me that typical bureaucratic speech, I genuinely want to entrust you with significant responsibilities." Li Jingyi rolled her eyes at him.
"I abide by Ms. Jingyi's arrangements." Lin Hao replied formally.
"Alright then, I'll first let you become a deputy county magistrate, overseeing economic aspects." Li Jingyi thought it best to proceed slowly, step by step.
"What about the work at the county office and the National Development and Reform Commission?" Lin Hao asked with a bitter face.
Li Jingyi knew what he meant was the candidates for the heads of the two offices and, after some contemplation, said, "For the county office, recommend someone to take the lead as director, and for the Development Commission, isn't there a deputy director? Let him directly move up, oversee the larger picture."
"Alright." Lin Hao nodded.
"You need to go speak with them yourself, the selections should be people you trust so future tasks can proceed more smoothly." Li Jingyi advanced this favor to him.
Lin Hao was slightly surprised and nodded slightly, understanding her intentions.
After all, promoting two directors is undeniably a significant favor and if Lin Hao takes them on, they'll thereafter be fully committed to him.
Everyone within the system knows that whoever promotes someone, then they're considered their people, and once this label is affixed, the two directors will be considered Lin Hao's people.
Walking out of the office, Lin Hao looked outside and saw that the officers from the city's Commission for Discipline Inspection had arrived.
Just as Li Jingyi mentioned, the departure of Jiang Yunchao and Luo Zhijun initiated a storm within Wucheng County.
Returning to the county office, Lin Hao noticed a message from Yu Peishan, asking when he had time to go for fortune-telling together.
Fortune-telling? Tell my ass!
If it was accurate, would fortune-tellers need to advise others?
Lin Hao understood this was Yu Peishan trying to build rapport with him and intended to discuss the project in detail.
Speaking of which, when Yu Peishan woke up this morning at the hotel and realized Lin Hao hadn't taken advantage of her last night, she silently breathed a sigh of relief yet felt slightly disappointed.
As for the project Lin Hao mentioned to her, she was certainly interested; hence she quickly reached out to him to meet again.
Since receiving Li Jingyi's warning, Lin Hao also reckoned it best not to accept a stake from Yu Peishan, to avoid being dragged down.
Moreover, he wasn't lacking money currently; should he need it, he could access it from Zhang Yuanyuan.
Should equity be truly desired, he would then allow Zhang Yuanyuan to acquire shares and invest some funds into the project.
This way, it'll alleviate the funding pressure of the new project and could also offer assistance to Yu Peishan.
