The Immortal Wife Is Like A Cloud

Chapter 839: Awakening

Chapter 839: Awakening

“What is going on here?

Why are there so many of them?”

Su Jingzhen and his companions stared at the countless massive beasts before them, their expressions filled with confusion and disbelief.

In their experience, even in other Divine Source realms they had visited, where numerous giant beasts were born, they had never encountered anything of this magnitude.

However, what they didn’t realize was that this phenomenon was occurring throughout the entire Divine Source Secret Realm.

Naturally, their arrival at this moment attracted the attention of everyone around the cliff.

Xuan Jin, Han Qianxue, Fairy Xuan Su, and others all turned their gazes toward them.

Everyone knew that the source of all the strange events happening in this Divine Source Secret Realm stemmed from this group of five.

To be precise, it wasn’t all five of them, Jian Ling didn’t count. It was just the other four.

Being the center of attention was nothing new to Su Jingzhen and his group.

Even as Xuan Jin continued to slaughter the surrounding beasts nearby, Su Jingzhen’s gaze remained fixed on the vibrant five-colored passage at the center of the cliff.

Yes, this passageway was unlike anything they had encountered before.

The dazzling five-colored light emanating from it was so intense that even Su Jingzhen and the others found it blinding.

As they stood in shock, Xuening’s eyes reflected even more confusion.

However, there was also a faint glimmer of clarity deep within her gaze.

Soon, Fairy Xuan Su and Han Qianxue abandoned their fight with the beasts and moved toward Su Jingzhen and his group.

They had noticed that the beasts seemed to be endless.

Even though the creatures didn’t put up any resistance, their sheer numbers were overwhelming.

In addition, they kept pouring into the five-colored corridor, their advance unstoppable.

“Daoist Su, what exactly is going on here?

You surely must know what’s happening in the Divine Source Secret Realm?”

Fairy Xuan Su wasted no time on pleasantries as she approached, questioning them directly.

Even Xuan Jin drew closer, his face filled with confusion.

For now, he no longer cared that Su Jingzhen was his rival in love.

Understanding the changes in the Divine Source Secret Realm took precedence over everything else.

“We don’t know why these things are happening.

As for the passageway at the cliff, yes, we opened it. But that’s all we did.”

Jian Ling replied bluntly.

At that moment, an unexpected sight caused the crowd’s expressions to change once again.

Xuening’s body began to radiate an uncontrollable brilliance of five-colored light.

Everyone was stunned by this sudden development.

Xuening’s eyes flickered with clarity as she spoke.

“There is no need to guess. Everything that happens here is because of me.”

As she spoke, the divine aura around her intensified to an extreme, leaving Su Jingzhen and the others utterly shocked.

They instinctively stepped back, unable to remain near her.

Even Jian Ling, Xuan Jin, and the other cultivators of the Great Perfection Realm found themselves retreating.

“Xuening, you…”

Su Jingzhen could sense that the Xuening before him was no longer the person he knew. She had become someone – or something – completely different.

Hearing his call, Xuening turned and offered him a faint, serene smile.

“Brother Su, thank you for joining me on this journey.”

Su Jingzhen didn’t understand what she meant.

Before he could respond, Xuening stepped forward toward the cliff.

The massive beasts rushing toward the passageway all halted, their expressions becoming reverent as they made way for her.

The next moment, Xuening was standing at the entrance to the passageway.

She turned back one last time, her smile as pure as ever, before stepping into the starry space beyond.

Seeing this, Su Jingzhen’s expression changed dramatically. Without hesitation, he activated his movement technique and chased after her.

His emotions were a tempestuous storm. Although he knew that this choice was likely the wrong one, he could not hold himself back.

“You fool, what are you doing?”

From behind, Qiu Yaoyao’s expression shifted and she followed him without a second thought.

“Dangerous! Come back now!”

Jian Ling, Han Qianxue, and the others also realized that Xuening was no ordinary person.

In the cultivation world, there was always talk of reincarnation, an ancient and extraordinary legend.

They had already realized that Xuening must be the reincarnation of some supreme figure from ancient times.

And all the changes in the Divine Source Secret Realm were undoubtedly her doing.

Even though Xuening had a close relationship with Qiu Yaoyao, Su Jingzhen, and the others, who could guarantee what kind of person she would become after her awakening?

What if she turned out to be a ruthless and unforgivable demon?

Following her could very well be a path to certain death.

Jian Ling grew anxious and immediately chased after Su Jingzhen and Qiu Yaoyao, trying to pull them back.

After all, they had been traveling together and had built up goodwill along the way. Jian Ling didn’t want to see Su Jingzhen and the others die.

She knew all too well the dangers hidden in the cliff and the passage beyond.

Meanwhile, Xuan Jin furrowed his brows.

After a brief hesitation, he chose to follow in Qiu Yaoyao’s direction.

Even though it seemed like his chances with Qiu Yaoyao were slim, his decision was his own.

If Su Jingzhen wanted to court death, then so be it-but he couldn’t stand by and let Qiu Yaoyao meet the same fate.

“Senior Sister Xuan Su, please save Master and Mistress,” Ning Yao pleaded, her face filled with worry as she turned to Fairy  Xuan Su .

Fairy Xuan Su let out a soft sigh before nodding and heading towards the passage with her movement technique.

Not far away, Han Qianxue hesitated for a moment before following suit.

From her point of view, with these Great Perfection Realm cultivators coming in, even if they couldn’t achieve their goals, they should at least be able to protect themselves.

However, just as Jian Ling and the others reached the five-colored passage, the number of beasts suddenly skyrocketed.

Several Great Perfection Realm beasts emerged from the passage, charging toward them.

Jian Ling and the others could only watch helplessly as Su Jingzhen and Qiu Yaoyao entered the passage while they were blocked outside.

The beasts from the Great Perfection Realm were terrifying. Even though the passage continued to hover in the void and countless beasts flowed into it, Jian Ling and the others found it impossible to break through.

As time passed, more and more beasts entered the mysterious space, and an increasing number of beasts from the Great Perfection Realm emerged from it, carrying powerful auras.

These beasts gradually pushed the disciples of the Divine Realm of the Four Waters farther away from the cliff.

Within a ten-mile radius of the cliff, no one could approach it.

Eventually, Jian Ling and the others gave up the fight.

Jian Ling returned to Yan Xia’s side. From their original group of five, only the two of them remained.

Yan Xia’s eyes were filled with worry and disappointment.

Moments ago, she had wanted to follow Su Jingzhen as well.

But after assessing her own strength, she decided against it.

Despite the significant progress she had made during the Four Waters Martial Arts Competition, she knew that in such a perilous situation, she would only be a burden.

When Su Jingzhen and Qiu Yaoyao entered the five-colored passage and the beasts of the Great Perfection Realm charged out, Yan Xia felt a deep emptiness in her heart.

It was as if she had just missed a turning point in her life.

Regret weighed heavily on her as she silently prayed for Su Jingzhen and Qiu Yaoyao to return safely.

“Miss Jian Ling, I think you owe us an explanation for all of this,” Xuan Jin, Han Qianxue, and Fairy Xuan Su approached Jian Ling and Yan Xia again.

Their eyes were still filled with confusion as they pressed for answers, desperate to understand what was happening.

Since Xuening was part of their group, Jian Ling and Yan Xia must know more.

At this point, Jian Ling saw no reason to hesitate. She nodded and briefly recounted the events of the past few days.

Even after hearing her explanation, Xuan Jin and the others were still baffled.

Xuening’s origin remained a mystery.

Looking towards the cliff, the scene of countless beasts charging towards the passage remained unchanged.

The five-colored light became even more intense, condensing into a beam that pierced the sky.

Under the guidance of this light, all the Divine Sources within the secret realm seemed to respond to its call.

Even the most ordinary Divine Sources turned into beasts and rushed toward the passage.

To their dismay, Xuan Jin and the others also discovered that their attacks, which had previously been effective, now had no effect on the beasts.

This overwhelming tide of beasts left them powerless, their strikes futile against the unstoppable force.

No matter how powerful their attacks were, they couldn’t kill these colossal beasts.

It was as if the structure of the beasts transformed by the Divine Source had changed.

Without being able to slay the beasts, they couldn’t harvest the Divine Source that had transformed into them.

In other words, all the Divine Source within the secret realm had been absorbed into the mysterious space inside the cliff.

Xuan Jin and the others could clearly feel it-even though they were only a dozen or so miles away, the spiritual energy in their surroundings was rapidly thinning.

“From now on, the Divine Source Secret Realm will be nothing more than a legend of the Divine Realm of the Four Waters,” Xuan Jin gravely remarked.

At their cultivation level and as the chosen elites of their generation, Xuan Jin, Han Qianxue, and the others understood exactly what this meant.

“What can we do now?”

After a moment of silence, Han Qianxue broke the tension with her question.

Throughout their lives, they had always enjoyed smooth sailing, and each of them had believed that they were the protagonists destined to shine in the Divine Source Secret Realm.

At the very least, they had expected to collect a huge amount of Divine Source in order to break through their current realms.

But in the face of such a situation, they were overcome with a deep sense of powerlessness, a feeling that left them both stifled and frustrated.

Han Qianxue’s words caused the group to exchange glances.

Faury Xuan Su let out a bitter laugh. “It seems there’s nothing we can do but wait. Or we could hope that the powerful figures outside will step in and end this Four Waters Martial Arts Competition prematurely.”

Xuan Jin, Han Qianxue, and the others were well aware that by now, 95% of the Divine Sources in the secret realm had probably gathered here.

It seemed pointless to venture into other areas.

Even if there were still strange and miraculous places in the secret realm, those places depended on the support of the Divine Source.

If all the core energy were to disappear, those places would eventually turn into nothing more than barren wastelands.

Beneath Xuan Jin’s calm demeanor, there was a well of anger.

From the Banquet of Elegance, he had always considered himself the protagonist of this story.

But from the Banquet to the official Four Waters Martial Arts Competition, Su Jingzhen had always overshadowed him.

Su Jingzhen had even managed to convince Qiu Yaoyao to join him in the perilous space, something Xuan Jin couldn’t do.

He couldn’t even get Qiu Yaoyao to look at him kindly, so he was drowning in an endless sea of frustration.

As time passed, the spiritual energy around them grew increasingly thin.

When they expanded their divine consciousness into the distance, they found that the further away from the cliff, the more desolate the spiritual energy became.

Even the Beast Tide seemed to be gradually receding.

It was as if all the divine sources in the secret realm had entered the mysterious celestial space.

Meanwhile, the spiritual energy in this heavenly space was extremely dense.

Su Jingzhen and Qiu Yaoyao stood at the edge of the space and watched the countless stars pulsating with energy.

At the center of this heavenly realm was an extremely dazzling ball of light.

When they entered it, they saw Xuening’s figure bathed in this dazzling light.

Since Xuening’s arrival, the atmosphere here had become increasingly holy.

Yet, the Xuening before them was not the Xuening they had known before.

Thankfully, a five-colored energy barrier surrounded Su Jingzhen and Qiu Yaoyao, shielding them from any falling stars or wandering beasts.

Instead, the overwhelmingly dense sacred energy continued to flow into their bodies, as well as into Bai Suzhen, the snake on Su Jingzhen’s shoulder.

“Suzhen, can you detect Xuening’s origin?” Su Jingzhen finally broke the silence and asked the white snake.

Bai Suzhen’s sapphire blue eyes gleamed with solemnity.

After a moment, she spoke, “You already have the answer in your heart, don’t you?”

Upon hearing this exchange, Qiu Yaoyao’s eyes flashed with confusion.

“Little brother, what is going on? Who exactly is Xuening?”

Su Jingzhen’s gaze remained fixed on the ancient orb in the center.

He spoke softly, his voice tinged with awe:

“Goddess Yunmeng!”
