The Immortal Cultivation World of Male Inferiority and Female Supremacy

Chapter 438: Could It Be Dissociative Identity Disorder?

Asking himself honestly, since Fang Zhou entered this world, although he's encountered quite a few dangers, chased by monsters or hammered by them, none have been truly lethal. With his abilities, he can handle them.

Moreover, Chang Kong allotted him a month, and it was only his second day in this world when he completed the task effortlessly and went back, which would have been pointless if he hadn't come in the first place.

"This isn't what I'm looking for, I should be looking for the other half of this sword."

Fang Zhou said with determination, then absorbed the Black Broken Sword into the gourd.

He asked Night Mouse, "Do you know where the other half of the broken sword is?"

Night Mouse thought for a moment and replied, "It seems to be lost in Fran Fortress. I only know of one possible place where it might have been dropped. If it's not there, I truly don't know where else it could be."

He paused, showing hesitation, "Fran Fortress is very dangerous, much more so than Lorric City. Are you really going to go?"

"Of course, that's why I came."

Fang Zhou gave Night Mouse a confident smile, "Don't worry. I'm quite good at protecting myself. I may not be able to defeat those dangerous monsters you mentioned, but I can certainly manage to escape."

Remembering the deep pit Fang Zhou had left earlier, Night Mouse decided not to say more.

The two retraced their steps, leaving the prayer site and arriving outside the cathedral.

Standing in the courtyard, Fran Fortress was clearly visible halfway up the mountain.

The area of Fran Fortress might be smaller than Lorric City, but it's equally a magnificent giant city.

"Please take me there personally."

Fang Zhou turned to Night Mouse, "You tell me the possible spot where it might have been dropped, and I'll go on my own from there. I can't let you continue risking this adventure with me."

Night Mouse opened his mouth, but did not insist on accompanying him. He just told Fang Zhou the possible spot where the other half of the broken sword might have been.

Night Mouse explained in full detail, including a map of the route and the possible traps and monsters they might encounter.

Fang Zhou listened quietly, memorizing everything clearly.

After Night Mouse finished speaking, Fang Zhou took out the gourd and smiled at him, "As promised, after the task is done, I'll give you some water. I'm an honest and trustworthy person who doesn't break his promises."

Night Mouse wanted to refuse since he'd spent an entire night and most of the day with Fang Zhou, yet hadn't got what Fang Zhou wanted.

But thinking of the Sword Lake Water, imbued with pure Spiritual Energy, a flash of desire appeared in Night Mouse's eyes, and he guilty closed his mouth.

He found a clay pot in the cathedral to serve as a container, and Fang Zhou filled it directly using the gourd.

The pure Sword Lake Water showed no impurities, with glimmering light dancing on the surface. High-quality, high-concentration pure Spiritual Energy was emitted from the water.

Night Mouse took a greedy breath, closed his eyes to feel it, and his pale cheeks turned flushed, looking extremely delighted.

When he reopened his eyes, his mouth was already full of saliva.

Unable to control himself, Night Mouse picked up the clay pot and poured it into his mouth, looking skyward.

Fang Zhou heard the clear gulping sounds, seeing the constant motion of Night Mouse's throat.

He drank carefully, unwilling to waste a drop, yet even so, he quickly finished the large pot of Sword Lake Water.

After drinking, Night Mouse put down the pot, and his previously pale complexion visibly returned to a healthy flush.

"How many years has it been since I absorbed such pure Spiritual Energy."

Night Mouse closed his eyes, enjoying the Spiritual Energy entering his body, as a tear suddenly trickled from the corner of his eye down his cheek.

He hurriedly wiped away the tear with his hand, apologizing to Fang Zhou, "Sorry, you must think I'm ridiculous."

Fang Zhou shook his head, took up the gourd, refilled the clay pot, and said, "Once I find the other half of the broken sword, do you want to come back with me?"

Night Mouse was about to thank Fang Zhou for the extra pot when he fell silent upon hearing Fang Zhou's words.

After a long pause, he shook his head slowly but decisively, "No, I've long forgotten everything from over there. I've grown accustomed to everything here, besides..."

He looked up at the city on Black Soul Mountain's pinnacle, "I still have things left there that I must retrieve."

Fang Zhou didn't ask what Night Mouse had left behind just as Night Mouse didn't ask what Fang Zhou wanted with the broken sword. They wisely maintained silence on these matters.

Night Mouse continued his upward gaze as if lost in memories.

After a moment, he suddenly snapped back to reality, grabbing Fang Zhou's arm quickly, "Don't go to Fran Fortress?"

Fang Zhou looked at him in surprise, "What do you mean?"

Night Mouse got excited, his face flushed, "Don't go, it's extremely dangerous there! If you go, you'll surely die. It's not too late to turn back now!!"

He tried to drag Fang Zhou away but couldn't budge him.

Fang Zhou wondered about Night Mouse's change but gently removed his arm, "Thank you for your concern, but I must go."

Night Mouse also came back to his senses, pulling back his hand as if electrified.

He rubbed his head with both hands, murmuring, "Sorry, I lost my composure."

"It's okay."

Fang Zhou smiled, but felt puzzled. Just the brief moment ago, Night Mouse seemed like a different person, with behavior and tone markedly different from before.

This Sword Lake Water doesn't have any alcohol; no matter how much he drinks, he can't get drunk. Could this guy have multiple personality disorder?

Given that it's still daytime, Fang Zhou didn't wish to waste any more time, so he bid farewell to Night Mouse, intending to set off early.

Night Mouse hid the pot of Sword Lake Water somewhere in the courtyard and said to Fang Zhou, "I can see you out of the city, it'll be quicker."

Fang Zhou nodded; with Night Mouse guiding, he could avoid the monsters along the way and save time and effort.

Leaving the Sublime Church, Night Mouse led Fang Zhou through the city's alleys, with roof and wall paths also being viable routes.

Daytime harbored many more monsters than nighttime, making it impossible to avoid them entirely, even for Night Mouse. Occasionally, Fang Zhou had to quickly eliminate those they couldn't hide from, so as not to attract more.

The Sublime Church wasn't far from Lorric City's gates. After several hours' walk, they finally reached the towering edge of the city walls.

Fang Zhou asked Bi An to deal with the nearby anti-air towers, then flew up to the wall with Night Mouse.

From the wall's vantage point, the full view of Fran Fortress was visible, along with the broad, rugged forest between the two cities.

According to Night Mouse's explanation, this forest was called Yilushier Valley, also known as Cold Valley, once the final battlefield between humans and the armies of the Black Soul King.

The battlefield is often haunted by the restless spirits of soldiers, the Heroic Spirits, while the forest is home to numerous monster nests.

If Fang Zhou wants to traverse Cold Valley, he must travel by day, as most Heroic Spirits emerge at night, making it extremely dangerous.
