The Hero of Hypnosis

"That's amazing!"

"He just killed them all in one strike!"

"T-That's the hero?!"

"Yes! I can see my wife again!"

The thousands of soldiers Kai had saved got on their knees to thank and praise him. Never would they have expected the hero to come to their aid. It was as if he were their guardian angel.

Kai raised a hand, acknowledging the toops and their efforts, but didn't stay long so they wouldn't bombard him with their presence. Instead, he returned back to the fort and waited for everyone to return as well.

"Kai, is everything handled?" Janna asked, running up to him.

"Yeah. All the demons are dead. Now we just have to wait for the soldiers to return to the fort. Then, I'll cure them of the mist and locate the demon who infiltrated their ranks."

"What?!" The commander was shocked upon hearing Kai's words. "W-What do you mean a demon has infiltrated our ranks? That's not possible! Every soldier has been blessed by a priest of Gracia to ensure no one here was a demon."

"And how many times are you blessed?" Kai asked

"O-Once." The commander admitted

"That's so stupid. With the possibility of being infiltrated, you should be blessed every week, especially since you're always fighting demons."

"I understand that, but we've been fighting for our lives! We barely have any time to rest! And what is this mist you're talking about?"

Kai explained about the mist that is currently affecting the soldiers, making them weaker and the demons stronger. He told them that it's the reason why each battle has been a stalemate, even with the superpowers joining.

"S-So what's what Lord Ian was referring to! He knew about the mist, or at least knew that something was up!"

Kai nodded. "Yeah. I'll cure all of your men, find the demon who infiltrated your ranks, then locate the missing superpowers."

As they finished speaking, the sound of cheering and celebration could be heard in the fort as the soldiers returned. They were full of life, joy, and were in the best of moods they had ever been in.

"TO THE HERO!"

"TO THE HERO! HAZZAH!"

"Since they're all here, I need to inform them about everything you've told me." The commander expressed.

Kai agreed and followed him.

"Soldiers! Today, we celebrate our victory against those pesky demons who wish to overrun our home! However, our victory wouldn't have come to light if it weren't for the power of the hero! Give it up for Kai LuForia!"

"YEAHHHH!!!"

The commander put out his hand, and the soldiers went quiet. "Even though the hero has fought our battle, he still comes bearing bad news. You see, I've gotten word that a demon has infiltrated our ranks and released some dark spell, a mist, that weakens our strength."

The soldiers shifted in their seats, looking at their neighbors uncomfortably.

"Some of you know that the superpowers of this kingdom have been going missing here and there, weakening our forces. Lord Ian figured this out and went to investigate it! But the demons took him!"

"Those fucking bastards!"

"I knew he didn't run away!"

"I've always believed in the General!"

"But fret not! Sir Kai will not only help us find the demon who infiltrated our ranks, but also cleanse the poison from our bodies, and find the missing people!"

The commander turned to Kai.

Kai walked forward and extended his hand. He combined his insane healing abilities with Gracia's holy power. The reason he did that was because his healing power wouldn't affect a demon, but holy power would burn them up from the inside. So, while all of the soldiers were being healed by his magic, holy power also entered their bodies, cleansing them as well.

"Ohhhh!"

"I feel amazing!"

"I feel lighter than normal."

While all of the soldiers were experiencing a nice warm feeling coursing through their bodies, Kai smirked as he spotted the one person out of the thousands here who started to writhe in pain.

"Gotcha!" Kai muttered to himself.

'F-Fuckk! It hurts so bad! Why the fuck is the hero here?! And his name is Kai?! I-I thought he was just a hero in training! I have to tell my masters!' The demon used his abilities to slip away without being noticed.

Kai saw the entire thing happen and couldn't help but smile.

"I found the rat. I'll be back. You all stay here." Before anyone could argue, Kai vanished.

'This is bad! Very bad! If that Kai bastard finds out what we're doing, our plans will be ruined! I need to hurry!'

Kai casually followed the demon to his hideout without being seen or sensed. He stayed invisible and even flew in front of the demon for fun and made silly faces.

Eventually, they reached a mountain, and the demon simply walked inside it. Kai was so confused, but then he noticed that it was an illusion and walked in as well. Except, it wasn't an illusion, and he faceplanted into the mountain.

"Fucking bitch!" He groaned. So, he tried it again, this time, using his phasing abilities. When he entered the mountain, he saw an entire civilization of demons living as if they ruled the land.

'You don't see this every day.' He thought to himself, still following the demon.

They passed through many doors, spiraling stairs, and hallways that didn't seem to end, having a ton of twists and turns. Eventually, they made it to a large, metallic door, and the demon banged on so hard that dents started forming in the metal.

"Masters! Masters! I bring horrible news! The hero is onto us!"

The doors flung open, and Kai saw two demons sitting at a round table. He could feel that they were powerful. Not as powerful as him, but more powerful than anyone he's seen, even Dante.

"Explain!" The female demon demanded.

"Everything was going smoothly, b-but then a hero came and ruined everything!"

The two demons stood up from their chairs in shock. "What?!"
