The Heiress and the Female Gangster

Chapter 14: Chapter 14: :Chicken Rampage in Tyren City [ 6 ]

----Talsik POV----

" Hateful! "

[ Ugh! My body hurts like hell! ]

That arrogant brat should be dead by now. If it weren't for my revenge, I would never destroy the city that I have painstakingly built: my lifelong pursuit.

*cough cough*

The taste of iron is evident as I spat blood. As ironic as it is, my fragile, human body collapsed upon impact. My broken ribs are the most real in this nightmare.

*dzzzzzzzzt! dzzzzzzzzt! dzzz-*

" he...hehehehehehehe! hahahahahaaaaa!!!*

A maniacal ringtone so familiar to my ears further amplified all the regrets, guilt and hatred overflowing within my already broken spirit.

With shaking hands and blurred vision, I fished for a pink, rectangular communicator in my pant pockets. I ignored the throbbing pain all over my body as I felt warm blood sliding on my temples.

" Gov, the clean up is over. "

" Good, what about the video? "

" It's hopeless Gov. Some unidentified program stole everything from our database. At first, it stole nothing particularly important. But then, we suddenly lost control of the computers. When we finally regained control everything in it is gone except for some new folders it downloaded to our software. It gave us quite the scare because the only data in it contained black materials about our secret deals with Cosmos. "

" Damn it! This is clearly blackmailing us. "

" What do we do now Gov? "

" Did that person say anything? "

" Now that I recall. The computer screens suddenly flashed red. Then a drop of blank ink emerged like a bubble from a boiling pool. In the end, the line #YOU'RE DEAD# was formed. It was really creepy Gov. "

"This-. *sigh* In that case, destroy everything."

* clack! *

" Destroy what? "

[ When exactly? ]

A man in steel-colored combat uniform had a mask on his face and a black helmet on his head as he towered over my pulsating body: he is clutching a rifle between his hands.

----Athena POV----

I stared at my nonexistent reflection on the mirror which is plastered on the comfort room wall, where I am washing my hands at the sink.

[ So irritating! ]

Slowly, frost formed on the mirror: breaking it into shreds. Even the area where I stood began to shine because of the thin sheet of ice that began to envelope it.

The walls grew jagged ice with a slight red glow at their very core. Even the water in the toilet bowl and the faucet froze bit by bit.

As I exited from the comfort room with a sign 'FO' *meaning Female Omega*, I bumped into an omega I could not recognize.

Yes, I never really recognize people's faces save for my mother, Diaford and Gayara.

A moment later, a scream echoed from the comfort room: grabbing the attention of the the people working on that floor of the black building.

Everyone looked to my direction as if to inquire me with their gazes alone.

That's right, everything went quiet: more silent than the night. There was no longer hushed voices nor rapid typing of the keyboard.

They waited for my answer like obedient children who were curious about every single thing they come upon.

" Continue your work. It's just a trivial matter. "

As though in protest about the excuse I have given, nobody reacted.

[ You dare question me? ]

When I raised an eyebrow in displeasure, what was once paused, resumed as though nothing had happened.

I walked through the sound of keyboard typing: everyone had there own rhythm. When you listen carefully, each typing has it's own distinct characteristics.

Some are graceful, silent and moderate. Some are violent, noisy and fast. Some are lazy, uninspired and slow.

These are the sounds that I liked to hear. If they dare to disobey, I'll make them sorry!

Upon entering my office in the upper floor of that room, I heard my assistant talking on the phone.

" Doctor, can you send another batch of the Melters you made? Lieutenant General Athena Faris has done it again. I'm afraid normal means cannot thaw her ice. "

[ Tch! I don't need anybody to clean up after me. ]

Anyway, Melters are bioweapons made in the image of mushrooms that can emit pores capable of reducing my ice into nothing but shapeless puddles.

After a while, a familiar yet annoying voice answered.

" Hahaha!!! I knew my daughter's temperament. Come on, why did she lash out again? "

" It happens that the water system in the Lieutenant's comfort room is broken so she went to use the one downstairs. "

" Ah, I see. Since she used the regular comfort room, there must be a mirror or more at that place. Otherwise, there's nothing to be cranky about. After all, my daughter is usually well behaved. "

[ I never asked anyone to care either! Besides, this ghost-like shadow is so annoying! ]

The door was opened with a loud bang as I rushed to my work-table, uncovering the painted canvas which is covered by a white fabric.

" Hey you! Yes you! Take this painting and encase it with glass before hanging it on the wall. If I see any smudges on it, you know what I'll do to you. "

Seeing my irritable mood, my good assistant ended the call hurriedly.

She fumbled through her desk for a while before taking a tape measure.

She measured the painting with utmost precision, puting her glasses back once in a while.

After a while, she exited the office. Not knowing what to do at this time, I decided to keep myself busy with something worthwhile.

Wanting to strengthen my sense of existence, I printed the painting into different sizes.

I did whatever it is that came to mind: I printed it into the size of a picture frame suitable for my workdesk, a small circular picture fit for a hand mirror and posters for the bare wall in my office.

I have totally become a fan of myself or perhaps the meticulously drawn painting.

I walked towards a water dispenser and put a ceramic cup under it. Blood flowed from from the dispenser as I inhaled its scent.

" Damn Xing! I told her specifically to purchase blood type B. Why is it blood type O that I smell? "

[ Now I have no appetite. ]

I abandoned the ceramic cup, powered my personal computer and opened an encrypted file.

Encryption Code: IKILLYOUTIMESTWO

What a shame for an IT expert such as myself. It takes another to solve such a simple encryption but I don't care. I'm good at attacking anyway. I was dubbed as the Online Overlord in the computer world because I can bypass any security and control any device or machine connected to a computer.

There are 3 files in total: General Gayara Veldora, Black Wolf Corps and Lieutenant General Laius Skyrim.

I clicked the folder with the title General Gayara Veldora as I saw what was expected and sighed.

At first glance, there are pictures of cadets in hospital beds with broken bones while some are in critical conditions. All in all, very pitiful.

" Gayara was just 18 years old back then. Did they expect to bring them down with this? Ridiculous! "

[ Gayara was still unstable at that time: they did not hold back at all when beating people left and right. ]

" Besides, those pesky humans ganged up on them but still lost miserably. Tsk, tsk, tsk! "

[ Imagine 6, 19 years old cadets being treated like punching bags. In the end, it was just because they were unreconciled for the fact that Gayara entered the Academy after the training has already progressed halfway. ]

Before I became completely trapped in the whirlpool of nostalgia, I began to see more dead and half dead victims in the pictures.

As for the dead victims, they were especially bloody: some have even lost a limb or two.

Once observed clearly, the injuries were like precise incisions that were forgotten to be stitched after surgery.

[ Aren't these the assassination targets sent by the President? The cases of thier death have never been cleared before but it's a pointless struggle to pursue it since it was an order by the Central Government. ]

The number of Gayara's victims exceeded a thousand simply because of the 2 years she worked as an assassin who killed, threatened, interrogated, spied and all secret tasks and transactions assigned to her.

There definitely isn't a single victim made out of willfulness or indiscriminate violence. This is something the offender didn't know so he is brave enough to announce his accusations.

What's even more absurd is the fact that he had the face to put a blame on my puppy. How outrageous and boring.

I can't help but remember how they audaciously attempted to ruin Gayara's image just a moment ago, by revealing videos and pictures of their violent tendencies.

It cannot be refuted that they do have that tendency which they never, without fail, vent through the missions assigned to them.

It happened that I assigned a team to keep track of every communication line and computer devices the moment we knew something went wrong in Tyren City.

It was not within my expectation to find such malicious intentions directed towards the General and the Black Wolf Corps.

It was also rather surprising to find out that the cause of this tragedy is not only due to internal relations but also a very big misunderstanding.

Looking at the folder of Lieutenant General Laius Skyrim, I can't help but think what a joke this whole ordeal is.

" Skyrim...ha! What a good Governor you are! "

[ To implicate the innocent citizens in his protest for justice is just plain pitiful. ]

I pondered over this thoughts as I began to write a full report about the chicken rampage in Tyren City.

[It may appear on paper that Lieutenant General Laius Skyrim is deceased and his death had many flaws to be questioned, but the problem is that there was no clear explanation with regards the incident. That Governor Skyrim might have misunderstood despite the truth being: Lieutenant General Laius Skyrim is alive and well. It's just that he is still in a comma and is being hidden from sight as a means of protection from the agents of Cosmos. The strange thing is that the father and son had an estranged relationship according to witnesses, is it really for justice that he got instigated? I doubt it. There is a high probability that Cosmos continent is behind this. I also doubt that it was the intention of Polaris to insight mayhem. That kid had escaped Cosmos continent together with me. It's just that she's not one to settle on anything: coming and going like the occasional wind, leaving a mess wherever she goes. She is a typical genius in her field but she lacks common sense, which is why she can't even find any way to get along with anyone except that extinct flying lizard she had as a pet since her birth. ]

" Well, that's normal. Excellent talents are often isolated, distant and strange. I just hope that Gayara doesn't end up killing her by accident or on a whim. "

----Talsik POV----

The rain kept on falling from the darkened skies. My body screamed at me for the pain that inhibited my broken bones and punctured flesh which is being mercilessly in contact with the damp cloth covering my mortal husk.

" Speak! I have seen what you have done and I have heard what has been spoken. "

There was no particular emotion in the man's tone: just a loud narration, urging me to reply.

[ Oh, Black Wolf Corps. But, so what? I can't think straight! Ugh! Pain... ]

I want to pass out but I can't because of the pain. I want to get out of here but my body cannot move. The only thing I can do is obediently be threatened, unable to make any coherent sound: the only thing I could muster are labored breathing and low whimpers that humiliated me further than I should be.

To my surprise, the BWC soldier left me and edged closer to where I pushed that kid Polaris.

Farther up in the air are two helicopters shooting some kind of syringe, the size of a missile, hovering in one place and then to the other.

Under the heavy rain, the BWC soldier kept looking through the scope of his rifle.

[ So, it seems that this one is a sniper. ]

He was none too talkative, indifferent and rude. I can't help but complain in my mind,

[ I am an important person. How can you just ignore me in my current state? I'm dying here! ]

I knew he was searching for any irregularities but once I move even for a little bit, he would look my way.

After 19 minutes, he released a red signal flare. Through my tired eyes, I saw a helicopter land on the spacious helipad as the BWC soldier approached me.

He grabbed a foot and dragged me towards the helicopter like a luggage. Powerless as I am, I should have cursed him in my mind but I can only be speechless.

[...]

I felt myself being dragged on the wet and soft cement as I watched the droplets of rain fall to the ground, break apart and flatten on the surface: a matter without it's own shape, only ever having one when accommodated by others.

In the next moment I know, I was lifted from the ground and then crashed on a cold metal flooring. I was inside the helicopter, tears escaping my tearducts helplessly.

[ I'm still the Governor of this City, right? No matter what I did, I deserve even the slightest of respect, right? ]

" Lieutenant General Jupiter Gauss, who is this person? "

The pilot looked sideways for the BWC soldier sat on the co-pilot, water dripping from his uniform.

" Nothing too important. Ignore it. "

" Understood. "

[ I'm not a thing! ]

The helicopter began to fly from the platform as I saw before I passed out, the orange hair and red eyes of the BWC soldier who is apparently of high rank than I had expected. That was because he began stripping off his helmet, mask and protective vests.

[ Would a Lieutenant General really just settle for support and sniping missions? ]

What the truth is... I didn't get to know or think about because my body seemed to have gotten used to the pain and I felt drowsy all of a sudden.

Such a reaction is rather intrusive and suspicious but it was what I wanted, be rid of pain.
