Chapter 10: Chapter 10 Missing the Appointment
A University, male dormitory.
It was ten o'clock in the evening when Jiang Lang returned to the dorm.
"We agreed to hang out more tonight, but look at you, running off right after dinner, you made those girls lose interest, and they dispersed early!"
Dragging his slippers, Jiang Lang said, "Ling Feng that guy called a few people to go sing KTV, it's only me who cares about you, afraid that you would be lonely, so I came back to keep you company!"
When Jiang Lang came back, Gu Huai was leaning against the balcony chair, propping his head up at an angle.
The thick night hid his features, only revealing the icy contour of his jawline. His silhouette in the night brimmed with detachment, as if existing outside of the entire world.
Gu Huai, that person had too many halos on his head; just his charming face alone made him the center of attention from birth; although there was a sense of being an unapproachable flower, in reality, he wasn't aloof. On the contrary, he had high EQ and was quite adept in social interactions.
However, in fact, he maintained a proper distance from everyone and seldom showed fluctuations in his emotions.
"What's wrong with you? In a bad mood?"
Jiang Lang felt that something was off with Gu Huai, "I wanted to ask you at the shooting range today, how could you miss the target? Surely it wasn't really to cover for me, was it?"
He was quite close to Gu Huai, knowing that he had been in the national shooting team and had even broken world-level shooting records, records that to this day had not been surpassed.
The game they played today was child's play for him.
"Hand slipped."
From the darkness of the balcony, a perfunctory reply came from Gu Huai.
"Are you serious? How badly must it have slipped..."
Jiang Lang took two cans of drinks, walked to the balcony, and handed one to Gu Huai.
"Thanks," Gu Huai caught it casually.
He seemed to have just showered, dressed simply in a white shirt, still carrying a scent of moisture. His hair was slightly tousled at this moment, revealing his smooth forehead.
Approaching, Jiang Lang inadvertently noticed some dirt on Gu Huai's forehead, so he reached out to wipe it off, "How do you shower without washing your hair? What's that on your forehead? Looks like mud..."
Jiang Lang had just extended his paw when a distinctively knuckled hand had already gripped his wrist.
The drink in Jiang Lang's hand sloshed, spilling much of it.
Jiang Lang felt like his bones were about to be crushed, "Fuck! It hurts! Let go! Do you freaking want me to die a bachelor?!"
"Hands itch?" Gu Huai's tone was quite disdainful.
After saying that, Gu Huai casually ran his fingers through the hair at his forehead—an untamed and willful motion that drew the smooth and enticing lines of his collarbone. The not yet fully dry droplets of water calmly vanished into his shirt along his collarbone, and even the dirty smear of mud on his forehead seemed to beckon to be made even dirtier...
Jiang Lang: "...!"
This damn thing!
Just casually running his fingers through his hair.
Actually! So handsome!
"Damn! Stop electrifying me like that!"
With a face full of jealousy, Jiang Lang gritted his teeth, "Gu Huai, are you nuts? You shower without washing your hair. There's mud on your head, and I wipe it for you—that's it. Is there need to act like some virtuous prude? Are you on your period or something, being so moody?!"
The more Jiang Lang talked, the more he felt Gu Huai was kind of sick, and seriously so.
Gu Huai lazily glanced at Jiang Lang, ignored him, and with a touch of impatience, tugged at his collar, casting his gaze back onto his phone.
Suddenly, Jiang Lang remembered something and asked casually, "Right, didn't you have a date with Potato tonight? How come, she hasn't looked you up until now?"
