The Guild Master of Demon Hunters that the Empire is Obsessed With

chapter 16

16 – Quite suspicious boss employee (1)

Our Lucas Guild headquarters building is old.

Leana’s father, Lucas, is the first guild leader, and he also bought the building, not built it.

Looking at the building ledger that Leanna has, it is a very old building that is 30 years old this year.

Still, the skeleton itself is in good condition, probably because it was built firmly when it was built.

However, it is difficult to distinguish whether it is a guild or an abandoned building at a glance as the exterior paint is peeling off and the exterior lime is cracked.

At least there is a signboard, but the letters are all faded as if it had never been maintained since Lucas passed away.

The interior consists of one basement floor and two floors above ground.

The first basement floor is a document storage room, where administrative documents and various money and goods obtained through requests are stored.

Looking around, everything that could be of money has already been sold, and there are only junk that has no particular value.

Looking at the documents, most of them were requests from Schlesi and people from nearby principality cities.

It is small compared to the famous guilds in the empire that deal directly with the imperial castle.

The first floor is a full-fledged guild office space.

At the center of a large living room with a fireplace, there is a guild leader’s room, a counseling room, and a kitchen.

There is a small reception desk next to the entrance, where I receive mail and serve customers.

The living room is said to have been used as a place for guild members to wait, but now there is only one old sofa.

Until I came, Leanna used it as her dining table and bed.

The guild leader’s room is where I live, and the counseling room is now serving as a restaurant.

At least, the counseling room is the only place with a table big enough for three or more people to eat.

The counseling room had a large window, so it was well lit, but it was too empty to serve customers.

The guild is not a plastic surgery or dermatology clinic, so you might wonder if the counseling room needs to be flashy, but I think it would be better to decorate it a little.

The kitchen is an ordinary structure that can be found anywhere.

There is a fire pit, a fire pit, and a kitchen counter.

If you open the back door and go out, you will see an empty lot behind the building.

There is a bathroom made of wood on one side and a small storage room next to it.

It is said that weapons and the like were stored in the past, but now useless things like the basement are covered with cobwebs and dust.

The rest of the space is used as a training ground.

There is a wooden scarecrow in the corner of the clearing. Did you practice with it?

This floor is for executives, and there are a total of eight rooms, but the space is cramped enough to fit only one bed.

But the funny thing is that the guild wasn’t big enough to fill eight executives, so even in its heyday, it wasn’t even half full.

The guild has everything in general, and the structure itself isn’t bad.

That’s only the case with the adventurer’s guild.

There aren’t that many resident members of the adventurer’s guild, as individuals just register for the guild and keep wandering around.

But the guild I want is a large guild that can form a ‘mercenary unit’.

If you have a guild with a unit, it will be considerably easier to trade with the system.

If something happened in the Grand Siege and I had to entrust the request, it was obvious which one to choose between a guild with four or five adventurers and a guild with a hundred well-trained mercenaries.

And such a request from the government is a huge amount of money and there is not much to be done.

It is not difficult to find large guilds that do business in that way in empires where disputes with neighboring countries are frequent.

The Imperial Army is put into a place where it is difficult to directly intervene, and it sweeps money through proxy wars.

I’m thinking of going a little further and creating a separate special unit dedicated to demons.

If you recruit scattered demon hunters and form an army, you will have a lot of fun after the resurrection of the Great Demon.

To do that, you need money, and to earn money, you have to constantly ask for requests.

In order to constantly ask for quests, people need to know about our guild.

I have to promote the guild to attract customers, find out if there is a subsidy, and decorate the building in a reasonable way.

“Celestine!”

No answer.

“Why, sir?”

Leanna, who was cleaning the fireplace, came into her guildmaster’s room, wiping her hands.

“Where’s Celestine?”

“I went to take out the trash. What would you like me to do?”

“I’m going to send out some guild publicity.”

“Guild promotions?”

Leanna ran a hand through her hair and asked.

“How will you publicize it?”

“Well? Should I wear a doll mask and hand out flyers?”

Leana giggled at the joke.

“Celestine is pretty, so I’d rather show her face. Why don’t we put up a poster instead?”

“The murals are fine. But do we really have to write them all?”

“No. There is a place in town that makes posters. If you ask for them, they’ll make them for you, and we just have to stick them up.”

“That’s fine.”

She immediately took up a pen and wrote a sample of the poster on a blank piece of paper.

Lucas Guild, Resolving the Les Jovoire Reservoir Reservoir Case and the ‘Dawn of Milking’ Cattle Theft, Professional Demon Hunters Always Standby, Special Discounts for First-Time Customers, etc.

“Wouldn’t it be okay to do this roughly?”

“Is that nice? I’ll be back right away.”

“Let’s go together. There are things to buy.”

I was leaving the guild room wearing a cloak when Celestine opened the door and came in.

“Where are you two going?”

“I’m going to town. Would you like to come with me?”

“Oh, um…”

Celestine hesitated for a moment, then nodded her head.

“Okay.”

Since joining our guild, Celestine has been so docile and somewhat depressed.

She has said several times that she has a bad personality, but right now I don’t really feel it.

Perhaps her personality itself has changed as she gets caught up in a series of big events.

She is not used to working as an employee in an unfamiliar environment, giving up her status as a saint.

Technically speaking, Celestine is currently on death row for her sect, and all the priests she worked with have lost before her eyes.

Anyway, it goes well with casual wear.

No one would believe that she was a saint until just a few days ago.

Even the halo on her head is barely visible in the sunlight.

“Let’s go. We’ll have lunch outside while we’re out.”

“Exciting!”

Leanna shouted.

The first place we stopped by was the print shop Leanna mentioned.

When I showed the sample I had made, the staff immediately showed me a very neat sample after making various modifications.

“Okay. With this, um, maybe a hundred copies?”

“Three hundred should do, sir. How big is Schlesch?”

As Leana suggested, I ordered 300 copies and paid the bill. Come pick it up tomorrow

The next stop was Schlesi’s Central Market.

To buy a round table for the living room on the first floor, interior items for the counseling room, and Celestine’s bedding.

“Is this enough?”

“It’s perfect. For meetings and dinners.”

I ordered a round table big enough for about 10 people to sit around at once.

“Celestine! Look at this. It’s really pretty.”

Celestine nodded her head as Leanna showed her her little vase.

“It’s really pretty. But where should I put it?”

“I was thinking of putting it on the table in the counseling room. It’s too desolate.”

“Oh, the counseling room.”

After looking around for a while, Celestine picked up something from her.

“If it’s a counseling room, wouldn’t it be nice to have something like this?”

It was a long oval-shaped flat plate of lustrous gold.

What the hell is that?

“I think it would be nice to put pens and inkwells here and other writing utensils. And…”

What Celestine picked up this time was a leather item with a very fancy pattern engraved on it.

It has a rectangular shape, but the bottom is open, so it seems to be used for covering something.

But again, what was difficult to see as a lid was a vertical crack in the part that should have been a lid.

“What else is that?”

“This is to cover each tissue that is placed in the counseling room. It’s okay if you just leave the tissue alone.”

“Oh, is that so?”

Everything is special.

“Once again, how about this one?”

Heavy frame with a smooth wooden frame… ?

“I wonder if it would be nice to put something like a business license in it and hang it on the wall.”

“That’s a good idea… hahahaha.”

“And I think it would be a good idea to change the curtains on the window of the counseling room. Yesterday, it was dirty because some food soup or something splattered on it.”

At the same time, silk curtains that look incredibly expensive even to me, who is an outsider in choosing them.

Leanna, who quickly checked the price tag of each item Celestine picked out, looked at me without Celestine’s knowledge and shook her head slightly.

I also think the same as Leana.

Celestine, totally unaware of Leanna and I exchanging glances, continued to walk around, pointing out things that looked expensive.

No matter how you look at it, Leana and I seem to have different economic concepts.

In the end, none of Celestine’s opinions were reflected.

“Instead, buy the blanket you want.”

“Thank you.”

Celestine picked up the finest goose down comforter, thought for a moment, then put it down and chose a relatively inexpensive one.

“Wouldn’t this be enough…?”

I smiled at Celestine, who looked at me like a puppy.

That’s quite smart and cute.

The next day, she received the three hundred posters she had ordered from a local print shop.

She decided to give each of them a hundred pieces and stick them around the city.

“Then see you later, everyone!”

Leanna waved her hand briskly and walked away.

“Celestine, can you do well?”

“Sure. Trust me.”

Celestine also took her poster and went to the other side.

I’m a little nervous, but can’t you stick paper on the wall?

I watched Celestine’s back as she walked away, then turned her body.

And a few hours later.

Meeting in the guild, Leana and I waited for Celestine to come.

“That’s strange. Why don’t you come back like this?”

“Sure. Has something happened. Shouldn’t we go out and look for it?”

Eventually, Leana and I left the guild and headed over to the area Celestine decided to put up the mural.

“Secretary. What is he doing over there?”

Leana pointed ahead.

Celestine was eating something while standing against her wall.
