The Grim Fate of Those Who Arouse the Wrath of the Most Dreaded Marquis

Chapter 6

Episode 06: Punching Dad and Stepmom

“Giorg, what the hell are you doing?!”

I met Gazel’s sharp tone with a cold sneer.

“W-what?! What’s with that attitude?!”

Gazel, sensing my mocking emotions, exploded with rage.

“Cain, Ride… seize Gazel and Almada.”

“Yes, sir!!”

The two butlers who followed Gazel immediately carried out my orders. Within three seconds, the two were pinned to the floor.

“What are you doing?! Let go!! What the hell is this?!”

“You guys!! Do you even know who you’re messing with?!”

Naturally, the two who were pinned down began hurling insults at the butlers restraining them.

“Shut up!!”

At the butlers’ sharp rebuke, Gazel and Almada looked shocked. They had always thought Cain and Ride were loyal butlers.

“Gazel, Almada… I hereby pronounce your judgment.”

At my words, their expressions shifted from shock to anger in an instant.

“Don’t mess with me!! Who do you think you are, talking to the Zafing Marquess like that?!”

“Giorg!! What the hell do you think you’re doing?!”

I ignored their curses and continued speaking as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

“The charges are the murder of the former Zafing Marquess, Elphil, and the usurpation of the Zafing Marquess House.”

My words sent shockwaves through the reception room. Watching their reactions, I smirked and turned my gaze toward them.

Those who met my eyes trembled. They already knew I had control over the financial movements, so they understood this wasn’t a bluff. And, of course, they knew there was no escape for them either.

“Former Acting Marquess Gazel… you conspired with your wife, Almada, to assassinate the former Zafing Marquess, Elphil, didn’t you?”

“W-what?! Don’t be ridiculous!! We’d never do such a thing!!”

“Exactly!! Where’s the evidence?!”

“Shut up.”

At my single command, Gazel and Almada fell silent.

“When did I give you permission to speak? Don’t get ahead of yourselves, you trash.”

“W-what?! You’re talking to your father—”

“That’s why I said shut up. Interrupting the Zafing Marquess? You really are a fool.”

With that, I stood up and walked briskly toward Gazel. Along the way, I grabbed a decorative sword hanging on the wall, still in its sheath.

Cain, understanding my intent, grabbed Gazel’s head and forcefully lifted it.

I nodded in satisfaction and then struck Gazel with the sword.

Thwack!!

A bizarre sound echoed as Gazel’s face snapped to the side at high speed. Of course, I held back, but the blood and shattered teeth spilling from Gazel’s mouth made it clear to my subordinates that I wasn’t going all out.

“Eek!”

A cry of terror escaped Almada’s lips.

“Do you understand your position now? Then let’s continue.”

When I spoke, no one dared to interrupt this time.

“Gazel… I also have evidence that you procured poison. The type of poison was Ekel—a tasteless, odorless, slow-acting poison. The merchant you bought it from was Al-Galgo… Any corrections so far?”

“U-uh…”

“The maid who poisoned my mother was Anna-Kalzes. She was Almada’s maid, wasn’t she? She poisoned my mother under the guise of a discussion. As I mentioned earlier, Ekel is a slow-acting poison. The effects didn’t show immediately. It took five days for the poison to take effect.”

Under my gaze, Gazel and Almada turned pale.

“Al-Galgo has already been captured. He’s still alive, for now. Though I doubt he’ll last much longer.”

“Huh?”

“Naturally… He’s an accomplice to the assassination of a Marquess. It’s not like he’ll be let off scot-free. Oh, and by the way… have you seen Anna-Kalzes lately?”

“W-what? You don’t mean—”

“Ah, well, the interrogation got a bit… intense.”

“No way…”

“It was an unfortunate accident.”

“Eek!!”

Almada let out a short scream of terror.

“What are you scared of now? You’re the ones who poisoned my mother. It’s not like the unfortunate accident of a mere maid is a big deal, right?”

“W-wait!! Giorg!!”

Thwack!!

Once again, I struck Gazel’s face with the sword. Blood and teeth flew everywhere.

“You really are a fool. Can’t you learn from a little pain? Just answer what I ask. Don’t irritate me too much, or I might accidentally lose control of my strength.”
