The Greece Antagonist

Chapter 44: Sister, Don’t Steal My Boyfriend! (Part 2)

Luo En turned towards the voice, his eyes revealing a hint of amazement.

The woman's amber eyes glistened with the brilliance of stars, carrying a sharp divinity at the corners. Her lips upturned with condescending arrogance, and her flowing black hair was bound by a head crown with seven points. Her fair skin was as delicate as milk, and her exquisite features exuded a unique charm.

She was wearing a deep purple off-the-shoulder short dress with gold embellishments, a luxurious belt with multiple gemstone adornments hung around her waist, and the skirt was petal-shaped. She wore black leggings with golden anklet high-heeled sandals, her wrists adorned with several golden arm rings, and lapis lazuli earrings dangled from her earlobes, fully dressed in standard Babylon Goddess attire.

However, as soon as the other woman spoke, Luo En nearly lost his composure:

"What are you doing to my malt wine, Siduri!"

Though it's traditional for guests to bring gifts when visiting, the fact that the other person hadn't even stepped inside yet and had already assumed Siduri's malt wine as her own, looking greatly aggrieved, was quite hard to keep a straight face over.

Siduri didn't waste words, pointing to the Spirit of Garula outside the barrier, lifting the wine jar with one hand:

"I'd love to give you all of it, but something wouldn't allow that, and this is the last jar."

Seeing her friend ready to drop the jar, Ishtar immediately cried out in angry indignation:

"Maanna!"

The Heavenly Ship Maanna, the exclusive Divine Artifact of Goddess Ishtar.

It resembled an ancient and colossal two-tiered sailed ship, its hull covered with dazzling gold and gem-blue interwoven patterns, like the brightest star in the night sky. The sails were woven from invisible magic power, swaying gently with the wind, emitting a faint glow. The sides of the ship were intricately carved with deity totems, with each stroke containing ancient power. When soaring across the sky, Maanna was surrounded by flowing magic auras, like a dreamy ship navigating among the stars.

Besides serving as a means of transportation, it could also transform, exhibiting war characteristics, becoming Ishtar's Heavenly Bow to slay her foes.

As Ishtar raised her right hand, the Heavenly Ship Maanna emerged from starlight, transforming into a gold-blue longbow, automatically absorbing magic power and fully drawing its bowstring.

Dare to make me lose two whole jars of exquisite malt wines for nothing?

Kill them! Kill them all! Damn those troublesome things~!

"Whizz, whizz, whizz, whizz!"

Over a hundred light arrows pierced through the sky, precisely penetrating the spirit cores of the Garula spirits, annihilating these vile souls who had escaped from the Netherworld.

But as the shockwaves dissipated, the mountainside that had barely held together crumbled. The dozen or so remaining totem pillars on both sides were instantly covered in web-like cracks, then collapsed with a roar, causing the entire defensive barrier to disintegrate.

Ishtar's confident and proud smirk froze on her face.

She looked at the pervasive dust and the thoroughly destroyed mountain path, her face turning ashen.

Being able to use something and it being completely destroyed are two different matters, the latter requires repair.

And repair costs money.

Ishtar sniffed, feeling a bit sour; she tilted her ear, as if her heart was bleeding:

For two jars of malt wine worth hundreds of gold coins, she'd have to spend at least a thousand gold coins in material costs to repair the road.

This deal was a massive loss...

Looking at the War Goddess in mid-air, wanting to cry but not daring to, and the smoky ruins around, Luo En quietly added two comments about her: This chapter is from the collection at M-VL-EM-PYR.

Greedy, strong sense of possession;

Her character is a bit reckless, and her actions extremely unreliable...

At this moment, Ishtar took several deep breaths, striving to draw back the small pearls about to slide from her eyes, and knelt down in front of Siduri with a disgruntled inquiry:

"Why aren't you running your tavern on Mo Zhou Mountain; what are you doing here?"

"I heard you were grounded on Abi Mountain, so I came to check on you."

Siduri softened her tone, handing over the last remaining jar of malt wine, then reactivating the magic circle diagram, and retrieving two more jars to make up for it.

The losses were somewhat compensated, and Ishtar's originally sullen face immediately improved a lot.

Siduri then took the opportunity to shift half a step aside, pointing at Luo En behind her, saying:

"There's also something else, your brother Utu asked me to bring him to meet you. He wants to play matchmaker for you."

Upon hearing this, Ishtar looked at her friend in astonishment:

"Who is he?"

"Dumuzid, a shepherd from near Mo Zhou Mountain. Your brother appreciates him a lot and thinks he'd make a good husband for you."

After her friend's introduction, Ishtar glanced skeptically at the handsome young man in front of her, huffing coldly:

"A shepherd? Forget it, compared to such a useless pretty boy, I'd rather marry Agriculture God Enki Mudo and sow barley and beans together."

Though her brother liked to meddle and was decent enough, his judgment was really lacking?

In the Babylonian Divine Era, agriculture was the primary industry for the city-states' survival, pasturing was just an add-on, how could it have any promise?

Seeing Ishtar's disdainful expression, Siduri immediately felt relieved and earnestly agreed:

"I also think you're not a good match! If there's no other problem, we'll take our leave first."

Saying this, Siduri grabbed Luo En's arm and prepared to turn to leave the mountain.

"Wait!"

However, Ishtar suddenly halted them, her face showing a trace of confusion,

"You said, he's just a shepherd?"

"That's right."

"Then how did Utu take a liking to him?"

"Your brother and he often drink together at my tavern, they get along well, and over time they became friends, so he entrusted me to introduce him to you."
