Luo En opened it and immediately revealed a relieved smile.

Inside were no precious treasures, instead, two very ordinary items.

One was a daffodil, which belonged exclusively to the Netherworld, yet could bloom in the current world;

The other was a segment of a golden bough planted in a pot, teeming with vibrant vitality;

It seemed, indeed, that his adoptive parents led a harmonious marital life, quite splendidly.

Understanding the old couple's intended message, Luo En closed the gift box and turned to Melinoe with instructions.

"Send my regards to the Underworld King and Queen of the Underworld."

"Don't rush, there's still me."

Melinoe beckoned behind her, and in full view of everyone, the God of Sleep and the God of Death, two brothers, approached, one leading a goat and the other carrying a jar of honey.

Seeing these two items, Luo En's eyes gradually deepened, speaking with a half-amused tone.

"I haven't been eating lamb lately..."

Melinoe waved her hand and quickly explained.

"Don't worry, it's not for you to eat, nor is it for you; it's for you to pass on to someone else..."

Seeing the cunning spark in those eyes, Luo En immediately caught on.

The so-called other person was naturally someone they all knew and had partnered with to set up in the past.

How does that saying go?

Some people, having been drenched in the rain themselves, do not wish to see someone without an umbrella run in the rain and would rather offer them shelter.

While others, because they have been rained on, wish to tear apart someone else's umbrella too, letting them be exposed to the rain together.

If Little Medusa belongs to the former, then Melinoe most definitely fits the latter.

And by offering this gift, she was clearly expressing a degenerated form of filial piety to her former mentor, letting Hecate taste the might of the demon goat head combined with honey.

To this, Luo En gladly nodded and accepted the two items.

Seeing this, Melinoe's face lit up with joy.

Unfortunately, they could not yet see the old witch weeping bitterly; otherwise, the purpose of this trip would have been even more fulfilled.

As they completed the gift-giving phase, Hera stepped forward to officiate the marriage ceremony for Luo En and Thetis.

Under the witness of the gods, the couple exchanged tokens of their vows, formally becoming husband and wife.

As the ceremony smoothly concluded and the wedding drew to an end, the gods entered the banquet hall set up on the venue, ready to enjoy the feast and beverages together.

However, when a tablecloth was lifted, a Golden Apple placed in the center of the table caught the gods' eyes.

The dazzling color and rich, divine fragrance instinctively triggered the urge among the guests to claim it for themselves, especially Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite, whose eyes suddenly lit up with fervent desire.

For, engraved on the surface of the Golden Apple were the words "For the most beautiful goddess".

As three of the most famously beautiful goddesses of Olympus, their outstanding beauty seemingly made them each consider that they deserved this accolade.

The surrounding guests couldn't help but have their competitiveness aroused, voicing support for the goddess they each endorsed.

Even before the banquet officially started, the atmosphere escalated into an unexpected climax.

Seeing the gods heatedly arguing, Luo En slightly frowned.

Is the [Strife] Divinity that strong? Or has Eris, during the chaos of the last divine war, achieved some breakthrough, a vast improvement from before?

But soon, Luo En dismissed this thought.

No, it's understandable for Aphrodite to be affected. But Hera has an entire Golden Apple tree at her disposal, theoretically, she should not be swayed by this one.

Athena is even less likely. Given the circumstances, and such a basic trick, she, as the Incarnation of Wisdom, could not possibly fall into such a petty [quarrel].

And as a surge of excitement to join the quarrel rose in his heart, Luo En carefully discerned the subtle yet uncontrollable feeling, his gaze thoughtful.

It's not [Strife], it's [Fate]!

If I'm not mistaken, the original goddess of discord, Eris, also split from the triune goddess Nyx.

Either she retains a small part of Fate Divinity, or it's a [script] written by The Three Fates, unchangeable.

Interesting, it's getting more and more interesting.

As Luo En unraveled the puzzle, a playful smile appeared on his face.

"Since arguing won't resolve it, why not let the host of today's banquet judge?"

"Great idea!"

The "suggestion" from somewhere set off a chorus of agreement among the guests, and Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite, gradually heated by the quarrel over the Golden Apple, turned their gaze unanimously to the host of the banquet.

The focus of many eyes, Luo En couldn't help but darken his expression.

Which damn fool is trying to frame me?

According to the original [Fate], this thankless task of being the judge would fall on the head of the Prince of Troy, Paris, then sparking the whole [Golden Apple incident] as a prelude to the future Trojan War.

However, because Luo En himself intervened too early in Thetis's fate, the timing of this wedding has been significantly brought forward. Now, not even to mention the Trojan War, Paris might not even be born yet, so this scapegoat really isn't unjustly assigned to him.

But, having said that, knowing this is a hole designed to offend others, Luo En naturally didn't plan on jumping down.

Especially because it involved Athena and Hera, who had just spent two days and a night mingling with him. Explore more at My Virtual Library Empire
