Chapter 22: Are You the One Who Kidnapped My Sister?_2
It seems now that perhaps King Arthur in the story did not want to kill the Black Knight, but rather it was physically impossible.
Because the Black Knight was not a living person, but a battle puppet created by secret techniques.
Fortunately, under the purification of this Mage, the Ogan Tree Runes on the armor plates that powered it have completely shattered, and the Power of Death stored within them no longer exists, making these "little toys" of Vortigern completely impossible to regroup.
Casually tossing the now-threatless black armor plates onto the ground, Luo En looked at Bedivere:
"Did you just say that Kai is here too?"
"Yes, they took another path, I'll take you there now!"
Bedivere nodded quickly in response, then returned the Broken Spear to his back and leaped forward, running swiftly towards the distance.
No longer burdened by refugees, his speed was incredibly fast, like a silver meteor.
In the Welsh legend "Curci and Olwen," Bedivere is praised as the most agile Round Table Knight besides King Arthur. Additionally, he is also a remarkable spearman, once fighting three enemies alone with one arm, his spear strikes equating to nine times the power of other knights.
Interestingly, the original Celtic mythology also features a misunderstood spearman — Nuada, the king of the Danu Divine Race.
Legend says the Spear Skill of Lugh, the Light God, as well as the Divine Spear Brionac, were all taught by Nuada.
Incidentally,
Brionac also has another name — Five-Star Bombardment.
Luo En glanced at Bedivere's missing left arm and the Broken Spear on his back, a slight smile in his eyes.
The First Throne, now in place.
Welcome to the Round Table Knights family.
"There's movement ahead!"
The reminder from the front broke Luo En's train of thought.
He looked towards the dense forest in the distance, following Bedivere's pointing finger.
He saw dozens of giants as tall as the treetops, recklessly swinging their wooden clubs, trying to flush out the prey hidden in the forest.
Leading them was a Giant Chief with a red beard, towering twenty meters high.
"His name is Isbaden, and he has led his tribe to ally with Vortigern the Usurper, usually finding pleasure in cannibalism."
Bedivere quietly explained, not forgetting to remind Luo En and Altria behind him,
"Be careful, this guy is very strong, it seems divine blood flows in his veins, and many knighted ones have died in his hands."
And as they spoke, the giants had already noticed the knights' presence, grinning ferociously as they surrounded them.
"Spread out, flank them!"
From the dense forest came Kai's shout.
Dozens of armored knights quickly split into two groups, charging out from behind the bushes on horseback.
Using their superb riding skills and the surrounding obstacles, they dodged the giants' outstretched hands and descending clubs, swinging their longswords to strike at the giants' ankles.
Though the giants were naturally endowed with the Earth's Protection, their skin and muscles as hard as rocks.
But these knights were no amateurs either, and their blades precisely struck the same spots.
In cooperative efforts, their blades successfully penetrated the giants' Defense, severing their tendons.
Caught off guard, several giants at the front row toppled to the ground, howling while clutching their bleeding legs.
"Encircle, attack the vital points!"
The knights heeded the command, replacing their longswords with lances for longer reach, and maneuvered around on horseback, wildly stabbing at the eyes, throats, brains, and hearts of the fallen giants.
After several rounds of encirclement, the fallen giants were pierced with dozens of bloody holes, losing so much blood that they soon had more air going out than coming in.
Seeing their kin die, the Giant Chief Isbaden became enraged, brandishing his stone club and smashing it into the ground.
Accompanied by the thunderous roars of the earth, rows of sharp earth spikes erupted from the ground, skewering a dozen human knights along with their horses like bacon.
"Kill these vermin!"
Isbaden ordered with a malicious grin, and the giants behind him swept away the obstructing trees, hammering at the human knights on the ground like playing whack-a-mole.
With the loss of tree cover and the Giant Chief's involvement, the pressure on the human knights increased sharply.
Even worse, they not only had to face the giants but also a group of elusive goblins in the forest. Built stout and short, looking much like elderly humans with long white beards and vivid red eyes. Generally living in castles and watchtowers along the border of Scotland and England or moving to unnoticed places.
These little things are called "Goblins," also known as "Redcaps," with stocky builds resembling old men, sporting long white beards and a pair of red eyes. Wearing iron boots, they run very fast. Usually residing in castles and watchtowers at the borders of Scotland and England, or sometimes relocating to unnoticed places.
Generally, these little elves delight in mischief but rarely cause serious trouble.
They typically engage in annoying or distressing pranks, such as inducing nightmares, startling people, or directing flies, wasps, mosquitoes, and hornets to attack humans and horses, then enjoying the spectacle from the side.
But the goblins in the forest were clearly corrupted, their eyes filled with malice, and their hands had transformed into sharp eagle claws, while their iconic red caps, stained red with their victims' blood, exuded a strong bloody scent.
As their piercing laughter echoed, galloping warhorses foamed at the mouth, collapsing in convulsions.
The knights falling from their steeds had no time to react before being dragged into the darkness by the goblins, who stripped them of their armor and disemboweled them amidst the rustling sound of forest leaves.
