The Greece Antagonist

Chapter 20: Great Britain Magic—Altria's Mealtime!

In the blink of an eye, several years have passed.

Under the tutelage of her teacher, Merlin, Altria grew swiftly. Not only was her progress in swordsmanship remarkably swift, but her face also gradually began to show traces of joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness.

However, these emotional changes were mostly thanks to the teasing of a certain mischievous teacher.

To outsiders, Altria still found it hard to express any clear emotional fluctuations.

After having her usual breakfast, she prepared to go to the stable to ride a horse out to practice swordsmanship and riding skills.

However, her foster father, Hector, who had moved out to live, arrived first to select a horse.

But due to his aging, he tried several times and couldn't manage to climb onto the back of a warhorse like he wished.

"Sir, do you need help?"

"Altria? You're just in time. Kai seemed to have forgotten something. If you go now, you can still catch up with him. Go to town and take these to him."

Saying that, Old Hector handed over a whole set of knight's gear.

Altria remembered that there seemed to be a special festival in town today.

Kai, who went out on horseback to participate in the festival, had forgotten to bring the most important lance for a knight.

"Brother, isn't he at least a knight? How could he go out without his weapon?"

"He's going out for a festival, not to war. It's normal to forget weapons. But today's celebration is a bit special, so he might need to showcase his martial skills."

"So, I just need to take these to my brother, right? I have classes today."

"No classes today. I ran into Mage Merlin on the way back; he also went to town to join in the fun."

Altria felt relieved, nodded to her foster father, then mounted the warhorse and headed towards town with her brother's items on her back.

Leaving the hill where the estate was located, she crossed the plains, walking between the fields.

Though the sky had some clouds, it was very clear, and there was no worry about rain.

The face of that teacher appeared in her mind, sparking a sense of urgency to see him quickly.

In the years they spent together, that figure seemed to have become an increasingly indispensable part of her life.

Without him, she couldn't sleep or eat well, and her orderly life would become chaotic.

Yes, in a real sense.

However, Altria suppressed the urgency in her heart and headed towards town at her usual riding pace.

The horse, burdened with heavy gear, could easily injure itself if moving too fast.

On the road, after gazing at the familiar rural scenery, she looked towards the distant forest.

Until last year, it was a forest that provided many blessings, but now it has become somewhat dangerous.

In the past, hunters could enter and hunt without much effort to obtain the necessary meat or gather enough fruits and wild vegetables to fill their bellies and return.

But now, it is no longer a place outsiders can easily enter.

The forest is being invaded by alien races, and the activities of Magic Beasts are becoming more frequent, gradually infringing and compressing the living space of the people of Britain.

If one enters the forest alone, and luck is bad enough to encounter alien races and Magic Beasts, there's no guarantee of getting tomorrow's food; one might even lose their life today.

The cause of all this, naturally, is the despicable King Vortigern who colludes with alien races.

In fact, he is also the one who killed her father.

So, should I be angry or sad?

Altria pondered seriously.

Yet, since she couldn't recall any memories of her father Uther, she could only shake her head, keeping a deathly calm on her face as she rode forward.

After passing through the farmland, she saw the fence surrounding the town. Although Londinium in the center of the island had been built into an imperial-style citadel city, the town in front of her was very ordinary.

However, the town's atmosphere was indeed different from usual.

Everyone was restlessly heading towards the knights' training grounds outside the town.

Children were noisily rushing out ahead,

Adults had an excessive expectation flashing in their eyes, though they held back from too much disappointment should the expectation be betrayed. But they still quickly headed towards that place.

"It's Merlin!"

"Merlin has arrived!"

"Today, they will finally choose the successor of the King from among the knights!"

Hearing the discussions and cheers around her, Altria understood the grand reason for the festival.

Fifteen years ago, the previous King Uther was regrettably defeated by the despicable King Vortigern.

In his dying moments, upon the advice of the Great Mage Merlin, he arranged for his affairs after death.

One was her, possessing the bloodline of the Red Dragon, who was conceived by this island through the [Conceptual Conception] as the [Red Dragon's Son].

The other was the [King Selection Ceremony].

Before dying, the former King Uther inserted a Holy Sword called the [Golden Sword of Victory] into a rock.

That rock is called the [Stone of Destiny], a legend says it can see through the fate of all things, selecting the hero with the qualities of a king to lead the Celtic to eternal glory.

Therefore, the Holy Sword inserted into the Stone of Destiny was endowed with a unique restriction.

"Whoever is able to draw this sword from the pedestal shall be the Heavenly Destiny King of Britain!"

That is what her teacher Merlin had told her.

This is also the well-known destiny prophecy among the Celtic people.

They firmly believe that the successor of this heavenly destiny, the incarnation of the Red Dragon, will draw out this Holy Sword, leading countless hero knights to drive away the evil White Dragon.

So, is this why the teacher and brother came to town?

"Isn't this from the old sir's house? Don't dawdle here, even an apprentice knight is a knight. Perhaps you have a chance too!"
