The Greatest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Tensura

Chapter 102: The Battle in the Jura Forest: A Trial of Growth

Days had passed, and once again, we found ourselves watching Rimuru from the comfort of our domain.

The young slime had gathered quite the force—a group of powerful ogres, a human woman named Shizu who carried the burden of being summoned from another world, and the growing village that now stood as a beacon of change within the Jura Forest.

As I listened to Shizu tell Rimuru her story, I stroked my chin in thought. Leon Cromwell… That name had come up before. He was known for summoning individuals from other worlds, using them as pawns for his own ambitions. If he had something to do with Shizu's past, then it was time to look deeper into his activities.

I turned my gaze away from the magical projection displaying Rimuru's interactions and looked to one of my shadows standing at attention. "Go to Leon Cromwell's domain. Watch him. Observe his summoning activities and report everything to me."

With a silent nod, the figure disappeared into the void.

Now, back to the unfolding battle in Jura Forest…

The Orc Lord's army had finally made its way into the Jura Forest, numbering in the tens of thousands. Their monstrous horde clashed against the Lizardmen, who fought bravely but were slowly being overwhelmed. We watched as the battlefield descended into chaos—orc warriors charging, Lizardmen trying to hold the line, and the unrelenting hunger of the Starved skill consuming everything in its path.

But then, Rimuru made his move.

Like a well-timed storm, his forces arrived to change the tide of battle.

The Ogres, now evolved into Kijin, cut through the orcs with devastating precision.

Benimaru's flames raged across the battlefield, engulfing hordes of orcs and reducing them to ash.

Shion's raw strength crushed enemies beneath her massive sword, her every swing creating shockwaves.

Souei moved like a phantom, his shadowy threads slicing through dozens of foes before they even realized they were dead.

Hakuro danced through the battlefield, his blade so fast that not even a single drop of blood lingered on its edge.

Kurobe and Garm supported from behind, crafting weapons and reinforcing the warriors with their skillful blacksmithing.

It was a massacre.

We watched with interest as Rimuru displayed his leadership. Unlike others who ruled through fear or control, Rimuru inspired loyalty—his subordinates fought not because they had to, but because they wanted to.

And then—the fool appeared.

Flying above the battlefield, Gelmud arrived, yelling like a lunatic. His frustration was evident as he ranted, berating the Orc Lord for failing to evolve into a proper Demon Lord.

I smirked, sipping my wine as Testarossa scoffed.

"What a fool."

Ultima chuckled, "I almost feel bad for him. Almost."

We watched as Gelmud desperately tried to force the Orc Lord to evolve, but instead, his panic only led to his downfall.

With a swift movement, Rimuru took him out.

The Orc Lord, driven by the power of Starved, lunged forward and devoured Gelmud's corpse.

And in that moment—everything changed.

A massive surge of dark energy erupted from the Orc Lord, his body morphing, expanding—his skin darkened, his muscles thickened, and his presence became overwhelming.

He had evolved.

The Orc Lord was no more.

Now, he was the Orc Disaster—Geld.

Rimuru, despite the overwhelming shift in power, remained unfazed. He stepped forward, prepared to face the monster before him.

Velzard smirked, resting her chin on her palm. "Now then, little slime… let's see how you handle a true crisis."

And just like that, the battle between Rimuru and the Orc Disaster began.

From our vantage point, we continued watching as the battle unfolded.

Shion, ever fearless, charged at the newly evolved Orc Disaster, Geld, her massive blade swinging with all her might. The force of her attack was enough to split the earth beneath her, but her blade barely left a scratch on the monster's thickened hide.

Geld, now radiating overwhelming power from his evolution, stood like an unshakable fortress. Even as Shion and the other Kijin launched relentless attacks, he remained unfazed.

Benimaru unleashed a scorching inferno, but Geld simply walked through the flames, his flesh regenerating before any real damage could be done.

Souei's shadowy threads wrapped around Geld's limbs, attempting to bind him, but the Orc Disaster flexed once, shattering them effortlessly.

Hakuro moved with blinding speed, striking at vital points, but his blade couldn't pierce deep enough.

We observed this with mild amusement as our drinks remained untouched.

Testarossa chuckled softly. "How stubborn. But the outcome is already clear."

Carrera grinned. "Yeah, the slime's gonna take this into his own hands."

And indeed—Rimuru finally stepped forward.

Now in his newly acquired human form, Rimuru stood before the colossal Orc Disaster, completely unfazed. The transformation had come after he absorbed the dying Shizu, inheriting not just her appearance but also the Ifrit spirit that once possessed her.

Geld, still in a frenzy of hunger and madness, roared like a beast, shaking the battlefield. His gigantic fist, thick enough to crush boulders, swung down towards Rimuru.

But before the impact—Rimuru vanished.

In a blink, he reappeared behind Geld, his aura flaring.

His speed was incomparable.

His movements were calculated.

His power was on an entirely different level.

The fight wasn't just about brute strength. Rimuru was testing the waters, dodging, countering, analyzing. Every attack from Geld became more predictable, his movements sluggish compared to Rimuru's newfound agility.

At one point, Geld managed to land a hit, his fist slamming into Rimuru with a force that would have reduced most beings to paste.

But when the dust cleared—Rimuru stood there, completely unharmed.

Velzard smirked. "Now, this is where it gets interesting."

Realizing brute force wouldn't be enough, Rimuru decided to finish the fight.

With a calm, almost effortless motion, he activated his Predator skill.

A swirling vortex of devouring energy manifested, pulling Geld into an abyss of absorption.

The Orc Disaster screamed, struggling, his powerful body breaking down bit by bit.

The remnants of the Starved skill fought back, but it was futile.

Piece by piece, the unstoppable beast was consumed.

And in the span of seconds—he was gone.

Silence fell over the battlefield. The orcs, now without their leader, collapsed in exhaustion and confusion.

Testarossa sipped her wine, satisfied. "Well, that was an expected outcome."

Carrera laughed. "Still, it was fun to watch."

Ultima simply grinned. "Rimuru's finally starting to make a name for himself."

Velzard leaned back, watching as Rimuru turned toward the remaining orcs—not as an enemy, but as a leader.
