The Great Sword is not the Main Body!

Chapter 0

“Hey, Heinzel. Have you heard the rumor lately?”
“Huh?”
“You know, there’s a rumor about a tiny girl who walks around with a great sword that’s way bigger than her. Weird, right?”

I held my breath and tried to hide my great sword in my coat.
…Of course, it didn’t really hide because it’s way too big.

“Ah, I’ve heard about it. But do you really think that’s possible? Luci, I don’t think you could even carry a great sword.”
“Well, that’s true. But they say she’s blind, or something like that.”
“Ha, right. Just a story spun by a crazy bard.”
“But you know… they say she has black hair and red eyes and comes from the east…”

I gasped and closed my eyes tightly.
Of course… I kept them shut.

“Seriously! What can a blind person see? Enough with these nonsense rumors; let’s focus on the request. Tomorrow is my daughter’s birthday!”
“They say it’s real…”

The two men got up from the table after that conversation and made their way to the reception desk.

After they completely disappeared,
Bang-

I slammed my cup down hard.
The impact sent white milk splattering all over the table.

“Oops…!”
I looked around to see if anyone noticed and carefully wiped the milk off the table.

What a tragic life where I can’t even enjoy a proper beer…
I sighed deeply and tossed the remaining milk into my mouth.

“…But seriously, it is pretty ridiculous.”
It’s a totally absurd rumor.
What kind of 145.7cm girl could drag around a great sword that’s just under 200cm?

And, if she has a great sword, wouldn’t her senses be heightened, letting her see everything around her, even being blind?
And what’s this? Red eyes?

Ha, there’s no way such a person exists.
Yeah.
There couldn’t possibly be…

“Let’s get to work…”
I strapped the great sword I had propped next to me onto my waist and pulled my robe down over it.
Then I awkwardly hopped down from a chair that barely reached my feet and stretched.

Hah-!
Stretch—pop-crack-
“Ah…!”
The great sword hanging at my hip made a hole in the guild’s wooden floor.

“Oh no, this is bad…”
I looked at the hole through my enhanced senses and knew it was a prayer that would never reach the heavens, yet I found myself wishing again.
“Just make me 5cm taller.”
“No, even 1cm would be great; please, just make me taller!”
