The Goddesses World

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: "Continuing the tour"

"Vienna!" Bridget's voice screamed at the back of my mind. She held her hand out to me but was too far away. Seth's larger frame was also speeding down, hands held out to me- hoping to reach me.

But they were too far away. I was too far down.

The ground was approaching fast, and my body squirmed around as I felt the ground graze my back. Then, a new figure appeared in my vision. This time, they were much closer and easier for me to see.

It was Rory. Their hand was held out for me to grab onto; I quickly shot my arms out. I was pulled forward, my body crashing into their chest. Rory looked back up as they held me before opening their wings back up. The wind shot us back up, soaring through until Rory flew us back to the others.

I held tightly onto Rory's shoulders, shaking ever so slightly. I heard a small laugh from above me. The angel was looking back at me, now drifting in the air with ease.

"What a drop, eh?" Rory breathed out, pulling me closer to their broad chest. I held tighter, looking down to the ground now far below us. I gulped, my whole body stiffened up. What a far drop.. it would have...

We made it back up to where the rest of the angels played. Bridget and Seth drifted down to us, Seth with a carefree expression while Bridget looked concerned. The rest of the angels laughed and joked around while others made sure to ask if I was okay. I was. It was a bit of a scare and all, but what really concerned me was that-

"That was crazy, huh?" Seth nudged Rory, watching my expression shift.

Rory loosened their hold on my legs, making sure to keep a hold on my arms so I didn't fall again. They did give me a bit of room to breathe, even if I was in their arms high above the ground. "Well, at least I could show off a bit," they groaned as they stretched their wings out. I turned to give them a questioning stare. They laughed, "now don't forget my name. I'm one of the fastest angels here!"

"Huh.." I breathed out, laughing lightly. "How could I forget you? You s-saved me."

"Well," they looked up; Bridget landed beside them as they continued talking. "You would have just passed out from the adrenaline, not gotten hurt or anything." They chuckled, "you can't die twi-"

"Hey, Vienna, that was probably a bit much, huh?" Bridget pushed forward, a hand on my shoulder. She gave Rory a warning glance as I nodded. "Alright, how about we go down and just show you around down there?"

"Hey- she has to learn to fly," Rory jumped in, glaring at Bridget. "That is required if she wants to go anywhere here."

"That was enough for now," the small angel glared back as she spoke to the redhead. "It's too much at once; I don't want to stress Vienna out anymore. We could do this another time-"

"No- no- it's okay, Bridget." I said, smiling down to the angel until she stopped glaring at Rory. "I can try again; I understand what I must do now."

"-And you don't have to worry about falling anymore!" Rory suddenly jolted me up. "I will save you if something happens again."

"Thanks, Rory.." I smiled, moving my hand off their shoulder as they slowly released me. I let go of them, making sure I could feel the wind hit my back when flapping my wings. "I got it now." I lifted myself from their hands, and with a hesitant breath, I jumped forward.

As I thought, I caught myself just below Rory and Bridget's feet. It was quick, but I knew I could catch myself in time. The silent flaps from above me caused my head to turn up. I flew up slowly, but I was soon next to Bridget and Seth. They all kept looking at me; Rory inches away with a steady look directed at me.

I smirked at them, "you look like you want me to fall again…"

"I wouldn't be that absurd of an idea," they shrugged, turning up to the rest of the angels that continued to play. "I want to show off more; scream if you need saving Vienna~"

With that, they swung their wings back, and a burst of air hit us as they blew into the sky. They ran into the other angels, twirling around them until they began to chase the redhead. It was fun up there. I stayed behind, trying to calm down and find a pattern to keep going to. It wasn't until I finally opened my eyes that I realized I was being watched.

Bridget and Seth stayed by my side, watching me with full concern. I stared back, a bit uneasy. "I'm okay now.. you guys can go back up and play-"

"Vienna, that wasn't okay.." Seth suddenly said very seriously. He moved forward, and with a slight wave of his wings- he was right next to me. "We should have told you about not being able to get hurt. It would be okay if you fell; it's a learning experience and everything." He looked down in guilt. "I'm sorry. We should have told you about that beforehand so you wouldn't have gotten so scared.."

I turned to Bridget, seeing the same guilty expression. They looked away, not daring to meet my eyes. I sighed, feeling as guilty as they looked. It wasn't their fault, but they seemed to take the guilt and misfortune that happened to me on themselves.

"Don't blame yourself," I looked down, watching my feet hover above nothing. It looked cool, and I felt so much joy in my heart that it also made me slightly tense. "I'm no longer going to be scared, at least."

"Oh, don't copy Rory," Seth sighed in annoyance when remembering the hyper angel.

I giggled, earning a smile from the pair. "But really, I'm no longer scared. Thanks to you guys."

Bridget beamed while Seth laughed beside her. They both came on either side of me, motioning in front of them and away from the rest of the angels in the sky. "Let's finish the tour up here. It would help you learn more about flying, and you can also get to know where everything is." Seth exclaimed.

I turned, watching the angels as I was led away. "But, don't you guys want to be with them-?"

"We will have plenty of time," Bridget jumped in, a hand on my shoulder. "But right now, we want to show you around."

"We're showing Vienna around. See you guys later!" Seth turned, waving to the group in the sky.

The angels yelled back, waving as a flash of red pummeled into them. They lost interest, chasing after a flying Rory who stuck their tongue out at us. They threw a wink at me before being chased by the group of angels.

"Oh that angel.." Seth growled under his breath, a light of spark red in his face.

Bridget laughed, rolling her eyes.

I watched his face, seeing the boy heat up at the funny angel who seemed to enjoy teasing others. I couldn't hide the smile that stretched my lips up. Bridget's braids shook as she let out a few giggles. "You need to make up with them."

"No way! They should apologize to me first," he pouted, crossing his arms.

"Guessing they both don't like each other?" I took a glance at Bridget.

She smiled, rolling her eyes carefreely. "Rory beat him in most of the games they play. He is always in second place and can be a bit butthurt that he can never beat them."

"I am not!" He yelled from my side.

"Okay, say whatever you want." Bridget smiled, nudging closer to me. She made eye contact as she motioned slightly to her side. "Are you okay with flying around? Or is it too much?"

"Yes, I need to learn to fly anyway.." I replied, being the first to fly forward. I did the same thing with my wings, keeping a pattern as I flew farther in front of the two angels.

Bridget and Seth followed behind, flying near my side but not too close so our wings wouldn't clip. Seth stayed quiet, only crossing his arms and looking in a different direction. I scanned ahead, looking down now and then to see if anything new came into view.

While I was looking down, Bridget cleared her voice. "So, Vienna. You have questions, right?"

I flipped my head to her. Right, I did. I just now remembered about that. It was the perfect time to ask the questions I had. "Yes," I cleared my throat before speaking up. "I wanted to know.. uhm, is there a way to sleep here?"

"Here?" Bridget responded with a tilt of her head.

"In Wonderland," I replied quickly. "Are we able to sleep while here?"

"Oh.." Bridget said with a broad expression. She looked away from me so she could gaze at the clear sky. "No, we don't exactly sleep. Nor are there such things as day or night. There is no time here, so there's no reason for anyone to sleep."

"To put it shortly," Seth decided to jump into the conversation, pushing us so he could be between us. We are all healthy and don't need to 'recover'. Just like our energy—it comes automatically, so we don't need to sleep."

"What he said," Bridget smiled back at me. I looked away, trying to focus on something else. "Why did you think of asking that?"

"No reason," I replied shortly, turning an angle with my wings to turn left quickly. The others turned with much more elegance than me. We turned and Bridget started to point and tell me places.

My mind wasn't paying attention. I took in the information from the angel; it just didn't make sense to me. How was I able to sleep when it wasn't possible? I didn't need the energy or the time to heal; I was just tired. Are angels able to feel or get exhausted?

"Oh, and that is the Pups Cove."

I drifted from my thoughts, looking down to where Bridget was pointing. It was more of a bush than a tree—well, a huge bush. It was on the ground, surrounded by piles of large foliage, almost like a nest. There was a soft cushion where I could see loads of pups, big and small, playing or nestling up together. They were all cuddled up together in the open nest-like thing.

It was adorable; I found myself smiling as I stared down at them. The pups cuddled together, and from my view, some were even playing in the nest. There were tons of pups there, and I could tell that there were more than just the pups in the nest. We saw a few on the way here, and some were with some angels back at Angels Cove.

"It looks so comfy~~" Seth awed from beside me. "I want to cuddle up with them."

"You know we can't-"

"But I want to.." Seth interrupted Bridget, moving forward like he was about to fall into the cove. Bridget rolled her eyes and pulled him back up.

"No Seth, we have to show Vienna Cupid's Cove and introduce her to

the Cherubs." She growled at him, pulling him up beside her.

His wings fluttered, and his annoyed expression shifted. "Right, right." He flew forward to be in front of us, motioning his hands at me to speed up. "Then let's hurry!"
