The God of Doom creates his World

Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Faith, Steel, and Dominion

As the "General of the Army of God," Asher didn't just oversee the military—he managed the entire fortress and involved all of its inhabitants.

While the majority of strong citizens enlisted as soldiers—either to protect their families and loved ones or to witness the power of God—the rest were assigned tasks such as forging weapons, armor, and other items, or cultivating the fields according to Asher's instructions, which led to an explosion of food production, as if the land were blessed by God.

Asher taught the soldiers how to fight, use formations in real combat, apply war tactics, and more. He refined their previously nonexistent training regime and introduced weights made of stone.

He also educated the common folk in survival techniques, environmental cleanliness, and mining, revealing undiscovered veins hidden in the mountains and instructing them on efficient excavation. Furthermore, he improved their craftsmanship and blacksmithing, which enhanced both their military gear and daily life.

He introduced more durable weapons and armor that far surpassed anything they had used before.

Nearly twenty years passed, during which the Kingdom of Brandt underwent world-shaking changes.

After these twenty years, activity in the fortress came to an abrupt halt: an army of 20,000 soldiers from the Kingdom of Avian had approached and was now at their gates.

It seemed they had finally resolved their conflicts in the south and either absorbed or annexed the native tribes living there, greatly boosting their numbers and confidence to the point they believed they could take the supposedly unbreachable fortress.

What they hadn't expected was for the fortress gates to open by themselves upon their arrival.

One might have thought Brandt's people were afraid or intimidated by Avian's massive army—just as many in Avian's ranks assumed. But they were quickly proven wrong.

The moment the troops from Brandt marched out of the fortress, it left their enemies speechless.

Brandt's army had only about 10,000 soldiers—half the size of their enemies. Yet they appeared in shining iron armor, their banners towering in the sky, and marching in flawless unison.

They were such a terrifying and awe-inspiring sight that many Avian soldiers were struck dumb.

Six thousand heavily armored infantry marched with large shields and long spears, followed by three lightly equipped archer companies, totaling three thousand men.

Du-Dun! Loud, imposing trumpet blasts echoed across the plains, reverberating in sync with the steps of the warriors. As numerous banners flapped in the wind, the fanfare heralded the battle to come.

The commanding officer—trained personally by Achilles/Asher—rode slowly in front of the army, raised his sword to the sky, and shouted:

"Attack! Glory to Brandt! Glory to the warriors! And victory to God!"

"Yeeeeaaaaah!!!"

The soldiers roared and charged toward their still-stunned enemies.

The Avian general finally grasped what was happening and quickly ordered his troops to form ranks.

But what followed was a sloppy, disorganized mess—a group of poorly trained fighters hastily trying to take formation.

Armies of this time were typically ragtag militias. Their weapons were stone swords, spears, or clubs. Wars were fought with sheer numbers, and the victor was often clear from the start.

But as Brandt's disciplined army entered the field with superior weapons, armor, and tactics, the fate of the Avian army was sealed.

At the commander's signal, Brandt's troops instantly assumed a wedge formation and broke through enemy lines with ease.

What followed was a bloody massacre that lasted less than two hours.

In the 390th Year of the Golden King, the army of the Kingdom of Avian was crushed in a brief but decisive clash against Brandt.

Soon after, Avian collapsed and was absorbed into Brandt, significantly increasing its military strength.

Brandt's troops dedicated their victory to the God of Salvation and founded the Church of Salvation, where the divine messenger Achilles of Troy preached regularly and spread the word of God.

He did this to increase global faith and spread it rapidly. With a few small miracles, he significantly boosted the income of Faith Points.

Their banners—depicting a red background with a setting sun—sent a clear ultimatum to all foes:"Kneel, and you shall be shown mercy. Resist, and fall in vain."

In the 392nd Year of the Golden King, Brandt's army—now numbering 15,000—marched north toward the former capital, Heron.

As they neared the city, they were met by more than 30,000 enemy soldiers.

The army of the Kingdom of Albera had gathered directly outside the city gates and stood ready for battle, as though they had been expecting them.

Despite being informed of Brandt's approach, they chose not to defend from within the city, confident that their superior numbers would ensure an easy victory over the mere 9,000 Brandt soldiers who initially appeared on the open field.

"Prepare for battle!"

Brandt's army charged—despite being outnumbered—straight toward their enemies.

The Alberan generals mocked what they saw as a suicidal effort. Even with superior equipment and discipline, no army would dare face such overwhelming odds. Or so they thought.

Just before the two forces clashed, a strange command rang out from within Brandt's formation—one their enemies did not understand.

"Now! Turtle formation!"

At once, Brandt's soldiers formed a circular shield wall, archers in the center and infantry on the outside. Their shields protected them from all sides, even above, while spear tips jutted out from the gaps.

Seeing this, the enemy halted their charge. But they were already too close—some soldiers ran right into the deadly spears and fell.

A stalemate began.

Though casualties occurred, they were minimal—less than one percent. The battle lines were frozen in place.

Then, a loud whistle echoed across the field.

The earth trembled.

From the nearby forest, cavalry surged forth. Over 6,000 mounted soldiers of Brandt had been lying in wait for this moment and now charged.

Unbeknownst to the enemy, Brandt had split their army before arrival. Only 9,000 soldiers had initially appeared. The rest now emerged from the forest, striking with the speed of the wind and catching the enemy completely off guard.

They had lured the Alberan army out of the safety of their city and now attacked from both sides, cutting off any chance of retreat.

"Now! Charge!"

As the cavalry cut into their enemies, the shield formation broke open, and Brandt's infantry launched a counterattack.

One rider swiftly found the Alberan general and decapitated him, causing the command structure to collapse.

The enemy army shattered. Fewer than 10,000 survivors fled to the capital and hid behind its gates—exactly the scenario Asher had hoped for.

Most soldiers outside the city were either slain or surrendered and became prisoners.

With their victory secure—achieved in less than a day—Brandt's army began their siege of the capital.

To the stunned eyes of the enemy, Brandt unveiled siege towers and catapults, bombarding the city with flaming arrows and heavy stones.

Chaos erupted behind the city walls. Buildings collapsed. Civilians and soldiers alike were caught in the bombardment.

Within half a day, the gates opened on their own, and Brandt's armored troops marched triumphantly into the city.

The 393rd Year of the Golden King:

Aaron Brandt, once a young and inexperienced ruler, had matured into a kind and wise leader. He had now united all human kingdoms under his rule—except for Morgana, which had fled into the desert—and crowned himself emperor of the new Holy Empire.

This was also the year that Achilles (Asher) said farewell to Gaia.

Before leaving, he delivered a final sermon that would echo in the hearts of mortals for generations:

"God's mercy watches over us.You have made Him proud. Those who believe and fight for Himshall one day enter His heavenly kingdomand bask forever in His brilliance."

They were short words, hard to interpret, but they touched people deeply. The promise of paradise after death enticed them more than power or wealth ever could.

As his sermon ended, a blinding light enveloped Asher's form—so intense that people had to avert their gaze.

When the light faded, he was gone.

Having witnessed the miracle with their own eyes and with his words still echoing in their minds, the people praised the God of Salvation like never before. A wave of faith swept across the world.

The 395th Year of the Golden King:

The Church of Salvation, founded by Asher, changed the calendar to the Divine Calendar, and Mannheim Wilfried declared himself the first pope and representative of God on Earth.

The Church began to expand and enthusiastically spread the faith of salvation.

Believers and pilgrims shared stories—true or embellished—about their God and the path to His divine realm.

At this time, Aaron passed on the knowledge left behind by Asher, enacted laws to benefit the masses, and with the help of the Church, kept corruption minimal.

Thus, an era of peace reigned.

Two Hundred Years of Peace Passed...

Floating in the vast emptiness of space, not far from the flourishing planet Gaia, the figure of the Creator hovered.

His expression shifted to surprise when the voice of the world rang out earlier than expected:

[You have earned the title "World Creator" for creating a world with over one million inhabitants.]

Over the past two hundred years of peace, Gaia's population had soared past one million.

The current racial demographics:

Humans: 523,000

Dwarves: 381,000

Elves: 109,000

Due to their long lifespans and lower drive for reproduction, the elves remained the smallest group.

Upon receiving the title "World Creator", Asher felt his soul's potential, divinity, and Faith Points surge noticeably.

His Faith Points now approached the maximum of 100,000, far surpassing the initial 10,000 he began with.

His divine income had become stable and constant, powered by the development of civilization and faith on Gaia.
