Chapter 66: I will mark you permanently.
The two subordinate officers were anxiously waiting outside the door, and the sound of the changing of the guard was already coming from downstairs. Chu Feng flew to close the door, and as soon as he reached the stairs with his two subordinates, he saw several prison guards coming up.
"General Chu." The prison guards stood at attention and saluted.
Chu Feng nodded to them, and walked unhurriedly to the office.
Chen SiHan was still interrogating Wu Yunkuan.
"Where were you in the early hours of the night of the 21st of September in the Alliance calendar? Give me the details, and don't leave anything out even if you went to the bathroom."
Warden Ding couldn't help but whisper, "Sheriff Chen, you've already asked about the twenty-first day."
"Ah, did I?" Chen SiHan asked.
"Yes, you just asked again."
…
"SiHan, did you get anything out of him?" Chu Feng walked in through the doorway.
"General Chu." Warden Ding stood up again.
Chu Feng made a motion to sit down and said, "I was bored of listening, and walked around the corridor a few times."
Chen SiHan also stood up, and said, "Nothing was revealed."
Warden Ding was about to give his opinion when Chu Feng frankly spoke, "Since nothing was revealed, then don't bother, let’s go back."
"Yes, sir."
In front of Warden Ding's astonished eyes, Chu Feng took Chen SiHan and several officers downstairs as quickly as the wind could carry them, and walked to the front door without stopping.
As the SUVs disappeared at the end of the road, the guard asked Warden Ding, "They came all this way and left without asking any questions?"
Warden Ding touched the top of his hair and said with a sigh, "Who doesn't just want to show it to the authorities that they can finish the job?"
The weather has been very nice and sunny every day. It was the weekend, so Chu Feng got off the roof after his workout, went to the master bathroom to take a shower, and then went to wake up Luo ZhouZhou.
He knocked on the master bedroom door, but when there was no response, he pushed the door open slightly. The bed was unsurprisingly empty, so he walked straight to the side of the bed, squatted down, and skillfully lifted Luo ZhouZhou out from under the bed.
Luo ZhouZhou yawned and slowly opened his eyes.
"Wake up, you go wash up first, I'll make breakfast." Chu Feng pinched his nose.
"Okay, you go ahead." Luo ZhouZhou said, slurring his words.
As soon as Chu Feng turned around, he saw a piece of black clothing fall on the floor. He hadn't even seen it when he came in just now, but apparently it had fallen off when he was carrying Luo ZhouZhou back to bed.
He picked it up from the floor and was about to throw it on the back of the chair next to him when he suddenly felt it looked familiar. He picked it up and shook it off, and it was obviously the T-shirt he had worn as pajamas. He remembered that he had just changed out of it in the morning and put it on the guest bed where he was sleeping, so why did it suddenly appear next to Luo ZhouZhou?
Confused, Chu Feng threw the T-shirt into the laundry basket in the bathroom to wash it after breakfast.
When the breakfast was ready and brought to the table, Luo ZhouZhou was still in the bedroom.
"Zhou Zhou," he called out twice, and when he saw no answer, he went to the bedroom.
When he pushed open the door, he paused in his movements. Luo ZhouZhou was still curled up on the bed, holding his T-shirt in his arms again.
Chu Feng slowly called out, "Zhou Zhou."
Luo ZhouZhou took a slow glance at him and asked, "Is it time to eat yet?"
"Yes, it's time to get up."
"I've already washed up." Luo ZhouZhou squirmed and struggled to get up.
Chu Feng walked up to him, lifted him up and sat him down, asking quietly, "Zhou Zhou, did you just go to the bathroom and bring out my clothes?"
Luo ZhouZhou lifted his head and put his chin against his chest, his whole body still lazily lying in his arms. He opened his mouth for a long ‘aah’ sound, as if remembering, and then said, "I'm not sure, maybe. Because I went to the bathroom once."
"Then get up and have breakfast."
When Luo ZhouZhou got up to wash up, Chu Feng went to the master bathroom and washed the black T-shirt. As he washed it, he slowly stopped until the water in the sink was almost overflowing, bringing him back to his senses.
They were having pie and fried eggs for breakfast, Luo ZhouZhou only poking at his plate with a fork in a wistful manner. After a few bites, he said he was full and was going back to sleep. In the meantime, Chu Feng frowned as he watched him stumbling toward the bedroom.
After finishing breakfast, Chu Feng poured the rest of the food into the trash, cleaned the kitchen table, and went to the bedroom to see Luo ZhouZhou. When he pushed open the door, the person on the bed was gone, along with the blanket.
"Did you go under the bed so soon?" He chuckled softly. Then he walked forward slowly, stopped at the edge of the bed, and crouched down.
The scene in front of him made his breath catch and his heart seemed to skip two beats.
Luo ZhouZhou was lying under the bed, his large, round eyes like water, looking at him without making a sound. There were a few clothes around him, encircling his whole body.
Those clothes looked familiar to Chu Feng, they were all his own. The black T-shirt had been washed, so Luo ZhouZhou pulled out a few more from the closet, including the military uniform he had hung on the coat rack and two pairs of close-fitting underwear.
"Zhou Zhou," Chu Feng heard his voice go hoarse.
"Hmm." Luo ZhouZhou let out one syllable softly through his nose.
Chu Feng asked softly, "Why didn't you answer when I just called you?"
"I'm a little tired, I don't want to make a sound." Luo ZhouZhou was still looking at him with those dark eyes that looked like two lakes.
Chu Feng found it increasingly difficult to breathe, and raised his hand to tug at the collar of his T-shirt. There was a crisp ringing sound, and it was the terminal on his wrist.
He looked down, the caller ID was Chen SiHan, and he simply pressed hang up.
Ring, ring!
The terminal rang again, but Chu Feng didn't answer, it just kept ringing unyieldingly.
"What is it?" Chu Feng connected the terminal and walked out of the bedroom.
Chen SiHan blurted out without noticing, "Chu Feng, why didn't you come to the police station these two days?"
Chu Feng didn’t answer him, and after a moment's silence, asked another question, "Sihan, what do I need to do to prepare for an Omega's heat?"
Chen SiHan paused and asked quickly, "Is Zhou Zhou in heat?
"No."
"If not, why do you ask? Do you have anything to do with another Omega going into heat?"
"Forget it, it's no use asking you, I'll look up the information myself."
"But isn't that something every Alpha has to learn and keep in mind?" Chen SiHan asked rhetorically.
Chu Feng sighed and said, "I do remember, but what actually happens, I haven't dealt with it yet."
"…You know I don't have an Omega either, and my knowledge in this area is all from books. You're asking me this now, aren't you giving me a hard time?"
Chu Feng was silent for a while before speaking, "Well I admit that some of Zhou Zhou's current conditions are very similar to those before his last heat. He is very lethargic, doesn't want to move, and I can't do anything to lift his spirits. I don't know if he is going to go into heat, I have to prepare in advance."
"But Jenny said a lot of people have the flu this time, is Zhou Zhou getting the flu?" Chen SiHan asked.
Chu Feng hesitated and said, "He took away my clothes, as if… he’s doing the nesting behavior in the book."
"Chu Feng, you came here on purpose to show off, didn't you?" Chen SiHan shouted. Chu Feng raised his hand and was about to turn off the terminal when Chen SiHan said, "You need to go to the supermarket and stock up on food that is high in calories and nutrition and easy to prepare."
"What do you mean?"
"Whether it's going to be his heat or not, you have to be ready to mark him. You can't leave the house for three or four days, so you should prepare more food."
Chu Feng sank to his knees and said, "If Zhou Zhou is really in heat, I will prepare inhibitors for him."
After saying that, Chu Feng cut off the call and went back to the bedroom. The nesting Luo ZhouZhou, unaware of his own abnormality, only felt empty, inexplicably panicked, and surrounded by something full of Chu Feng's scent, before settling down.
"Zhou Zhou," Chu Feng squatted down again and looked under the bed, locking his eyes with Luo ZhouZhou's for an instant.
Suddenly Luo ZhouZhou was embarrassed by the intense gaze. He whispered uneasily, "I'm sorry, I took all your clothes."
"It's okay, you can have as many clothes as you want." Chu Feng's voice was also very soft. Chu Feng was still squatting, looking under the bed. "Would you like to get out from under the bed? It might be more comfortable to put these clothes on the bed."
Luo ZhouZhou hesitated for a moment and said, "I think it's fine here."
"Yeah?" Chu Feng thought for a moment and said, "I want to hold you now, so I’ll come in too.”
After saying that, he lay down, then moved his body to shift horizontally, and also went under the bed, reached out his arms, and took Luo ZhouZhou into his arms.
Luo ZhouZhou happily leaned his head against the nest of his shoulder and rubbed against it.
"Zhou Zhou," Chu Feng gently kissed the top of his hair and softly called out.
"Mmm." Luo ZhouZhou closed his eyes, waiting for Chu Feng's next words, but he didn't say anything. Luo ZhouZhou couldn't help but ask. "What did you call me for?"
Chu Feng was silent again for a while, then asked, "If you are in heat, do you want to use inhibitors?"
"Oh, in heat…" Luo ZhouZhou was surrounded by Chu Feng's scent, and even his head was spinning slowly. Only when Chu Feng asked him again did he lazily say, "Just do it, whatever.”
Chu Feng paused for a few seconds and tentatively probed, "Do you know what a heat is?"
"I know, I've had it twice." Luo ZhouZhou frankly held up two fingers.
"Then you should know that there are only two directions you can go after going into heat, one is to inject an inhibitor, the other is to be marked, so your choice—"
"Mark." Luo ZhouZhou interrupted him and said simply, "I want you to mark me like you did last time."
Chu Feng stopped breathing for a few seconds, tightened his arms around him, and said in an obscure voice, "Zhou Zhou, if I mark you this time, then I won't just make a temporary mark."
"What other mark is there?" Luo ZhouZhou played with the buttons on his shirt.
Chu Feng took his fidgety hand in his and said softly but unquestioningly, "I will mark you permanently.”
"Oh." Luo ZhouZhou said lightly, "Then mark me permanently."
"Do you know what it means to be permanently marked?" Chu Feng took his chin in his hands and made him look up at him.
"I'm not sure." Luo ZhouZhou replied vaguely, as his chin was held in his hand.
Chu Feng paused and said, "To mark permanently is—"
"But no matter what the mark is, as long as it's what you do to me, I can do it." Luo ZhouZhou continued.
Chu Feng's sentence broke in his throat, he exhaled and closed his eyes. He kissed the top of Luo ZhouZhou's head, "Then you should get a good night's sleep and get some energy, okay?"
Luo ZhouZhou adjusted to a comfortable position in his arms, yawned, and said, "Then you stay with me like this."
"Okay, I'll stay with you like this."
When Luo ZhouZhou was asleep, Chu Feng gently removed the arm under his head and got out from under the bed. He quickly wrapped his clothes around Precious and tucked him into Luo ZhouZhou’s arms as he began to look for him with his eyes closed in anxiety.
Luo ZhouZhou sniffed and kissed Precious on the cheek and fell asleep again.
Chu Feng gently exited the room, put on his jacket, grabbed his car keys from the entrance cabinet and left the house. He drove out of the neighborhood and headed straight to the nearest large supermarket. He pushed his shopping cart to a stop in the meat and egg section, picked up different kinds of beef and compared them, identifying the proportions of ingredients on the vacuum-packed bags.
The supermarket auntie on the other side was arranging the freezer and asked with a smile, "Are you the one cooking at home?"
Chu Feng looked around to make sure she was talking to him, and replied, "I'm the one who cooks."
"There aren't many Alphas like you left, and you're cooking for your Omega."
Chu Feng smiled without speaking.
The aunt looked at the beef in his hand, pointed to one of them and said, "This beef is good, it smells good when you stew it with potatoes."
"Oh, thank you." Chu Feng put the piece of beef in the shopping cart, thought about it, and took the same three pieces and threw them in the cart.
"Buying so much." The aunt laughed and said, "Eat before you buy so much, you can get the freshest."
Chu Feng replied gently, "I have to buy more, I can't leave home for days."
The aunt looked at him twice more before responding and asked, "Is your Omega going into heat?"
Chu Feng nodded.
"It's the first time he’s in heat, right?" The aunt said again.
Chu Feng first shook his head, then nodded.
The aunt smiled knowingly and said, "No wonder, not much experience."
Seeing Chu Feng looking at her questioningly, the aunt said loudly and cheerfully, "You think you’ll still have time to cook during it? Go to the counter over there and buy instant meals, the ones you can heat up quickly."
The aunt's voice was so loud that the eyes of the people around her were drawn to her.
She peered into the shopping cart again and slurred out, "Is this chicken going to make soup? And this, are you buying this seasoning to make a pie? None of them can be used."
One of the older men around laughed too and said, "Young Alphas just don't get it, go to the fast food section and choose high calorie, high protein foods. I'll tell you what, your Omega will be pestering you so much that you won't be able to take a step away."
Chu Feng put the ingredients in the shopping cart back to the shelf and went to the fast food section. The shelves were neatly stacked with vacuum-packed instant foods, which he rarely ate, but now he was dazzled.
Finally, another cart of pies, beef, chicken, and the like was placed before heading to the cashier. While paying, Chu Feng's eyes fell on a shelf of neatly arranged inhibitors.
The cashier followed his gaze and asked, "Need two of these?"
"No." He looked away quickly.
After carrying the bags home and placing them on the table, he eagerly went to see Luo ZhouZhou again. This time he pushed open the master bedroom door and crouched down to look under the bed, but there was no one there, and his clothes were gone.
Chu Feng straightened up and shouted, "Zhou Zhou," but there was no response.
He opened the closet door, looked through the bathroom door, and then wandered off to the living room.
As he passed the guest bedroom, he paused and pushed open the closed door.
Chu Feng stood in the doorway, looking at the bed he had been sleeping on for some time, Luo ZhouZhou circling the blanket. He hugged himself with a few clothes and slept soundly curled up in the middle of the blanket.
Chu Feng gently closed the door, returned to the living room, and sat down on the couch.
After a while, he opened his terminal and started searching for "how to fully take care of your Omega during estrus" and "Omega estrus precautions". After quickly reading all the pages, he closed his eyes and memorized a few words before he got up, took the bags on the table to the kitchen and put them in the refrigerator. Throughout the day, he went to check on Luo ZhouZhou and sat by his bedside to keep him company, and then went to the refrigerator to double-check the food.
He also downloaded a list to his terminal, made another trip to the supermarket, and bought all the food that was on the list.
Finally, he checked the list, pressed the remote control in his hand to close all the locks, and clicked the test button on it. The green light flashed, indicating that there were no gaps that could leak pheromones, and then closed all the doors and windows.
After making sure everything was in order, Chu Feng turned on the military network, took his leave, and gave his subordinates a few work-related orders and turned off his terminal.
