Chapter 235: A Brief Moment of Rest
Zeke went on to training for a couple of hours. The [Conjures] did their best in showing off their strength to their master but, with Zeke entering the [Blood King's] form, the match was already decided even before it began.
Minutes stacked up immediately as this quickly turned into hours. Zeke didn't even notice time passing by as he was fully immersed in the form of the [Blood King]. Thinking of all that Alexander perfumed within the shirt span of time that Zeke saw him.
The skill in itself did not level up. In fact, there was even a notification telling Zeke that he couldn't; upgrade it further. Yet Zeke could feel his strength surging. Not because of the curse itself but because of the [Halberd].
As mentioned, the weapon turned into the original one. The same weapon of mass destruction wielded by Alexander. This meant that, all its features were passed down and, one of these seemed to be something similar to [Absolute Pierce].
Be it [Physical] or [Magical], Zeke could easily slice through any obstacle hindering his path. Yet he knew that there were some restrictions to this kill because, if there was none, then Alex would've easily sliced through the walls of flames.
"I'm guessing it can't properly deal damage to [Chaos] and [Order] type spells. But the monarchs themselves could be handled by the weapon at least." Zeke made one more swing with the weapon. Surprised that there was noting but air to catch his slash.
"Wait, am I done?"
The gamer looked around him and saw that, he was already finished wiping out all of his [Conjures]. The rules to his practice was simple. He'd simply continue battling them in their ultimate forms. The same ones which made use of [Undying Loyalty], [Undying Fury], and [Infernal Form].
He made sure that his mana would first be completely depleted. This was the second rule and, as Zeke observed his surroundings, he realized that even this requirement have been met. Meaning only one thing – it was finally time to rest.
"Damn, I'm beat." Were the words that came out of his mouth as he slumped to the ground.
"I could only imagine the horror on my opponents whenever they face my [Conjures]. There's no shred of hesitation in every movement they make. I'm definitely sure that the amount of pressure and killing intent they emit is larger than normal." Zeke thought, wiping off his sweat with a towel. Yet this was not the only thing he did.
"I guess it's time to call her out now."
While practicing, Zeke felt someone come near. In fact, because of the [Minimap] and the [Party Function], he knew exactly who it was that was keeping watch on him. Yet, still, he didn't pay her any mind nor did he intend on hiding his newly obtained skills. Because, if there was someone who could observe it properly and give a substantial report on this, it would be her.
"You can come out now Allesiah." Zeke mentioned, with the footsteps of the elf getting ear as the gamer proceeded to changing clothes.
After what happened, there was something different about Zeke altogether. Something which Allesiah noticed right away because, there was a strange distortion around the gamer. One which was pushing away all the [Chaos Energy] around. Like he was prevented from using it altogether.
"So do you have any plans on telling me what that is?" She began, standing in front of the gamer. With her arms folded below her chest.
"Okay, first of all, why are you even up this early in the morning? You've been standing there from what, 2:00 am I think?"
"Yeah well, you're not the only one who requires a lot of training. Especially with this dual wielded eyesight of mine." Allesiah said in reply as both her eyes glowed.
"Figures." There was a smile on the gamer's face as he continued.
"So did you see anything odd? I doubt that you stayed that long just to watch me practice."
"Sure did. Plus I was already practicing my dual wield when I was watching you." The elf said in reply. Making the gamer hopeful on what she would say next.
"I do hope you got some good results from watching me. Even I don't have a full understanding of this just yet." Zeke mentioned, looking at his body and thinking about all his movements during his practice.
However, there was something needed before Allesiah could answer this. She first needed the answers on her first question. One which would probably pull the pieces of the puzzle together. Hence, she went back to her earlier point.
"So are you going to answer or are you gonna pretend like I didn't even ask at all?" This made the gamer sigh as he thought on where to start.
"Well it's not like I can hide this from you now can I?" Was Zeke's short response as he went through the details immediately. Telling Allesiah every single detail because, he knew that they wouldn't even be together for that long.
"I might as well be completely honest for once. I won't be telling this to everyone after all." The gamer thought and, who better to reveal this to than the partner he had for most of his adventures.
"Ehhh? So you mean there's another kind of [Energy] that rivals that of [Chaos]?" Were the first words that came out of Allesiah's mouth as soon as Zeke finished explaining.
"Yup. There are actually three but the energy type I own is a bit unique."
"In what sense exactly?"
"Well, for starters, there is only one who can use it and, apparently he is the origin of my [Blood King's Curse]."
"So basically, you're the only one that can wield that energy type right?"
"I guess so." Zeke replied as Allesiah was deep in thought.
"To think that even you would be directly connected to all these. Are you sure you're not just the original who decided to hide for all these years."
"Oh?" Zeke simply said, wanting Allesiah to continue.
"Plus, there's the fact that you hopped on the body of my dead nephew. If you could do that then there would be an infinite loop. Preventing death as long as there is a new host to transfer to." Allesiah sounded skeptical of the gamer. With a stern look on her face.
"Okay first of all, I do agree on your point. In fact, you sound reasonable and should just interrogate me altogether. But for that to actually be the case there are certain points that should've occurred earlier." Zeke said, entertained by the little mind game of proving his innocence.
He then raised one finger, indicating his first point being: "I should've known stuff about Pier beforehand."
Through knowing Pier and all of his intentions, Zeke would've bee able to dodge a bunch of dangerous circumstances yet, each and every time on his first run, he was blindly falling into the traps of the said god.
He then raised another finger as he continued: "I would've definitely killed Glade earlier on."
This was the servant of Pier. Ultimately his ally and the one who planned the demise of the gamer. If Zeke just charged in and destroyed Pier from the get go, it would've also resulted in Gallio never coming out in the light anymore.
Zeke then gave a bonus point. One which involved Allesiah as he raised another finger. "I would definitely not start off in a guild just to clear my objectives, right?"
These were all salient points. Allesiah even looked back on the first fight where he witnessed Zeke. He was definitely having a hard time against [F] rank monsters. And with this, Allesiah finally dropped her half – meant allegations.
"That does sound right. Okay, I conclude that you are a properly fishy person."
"What the hell is that even supposed to mean?" Zeke said, almost laughing from the term used.
"Well duh. It means that there are still a lot of mysteries surrounding you but they aren't things to be worried about. I know that you're a good person Zeke." Allesiah had a smile drawn on her face.
"Well you're not a properly sane person either. I mean if you think that I'm suspicious and yet still trusting me, then that just means that you'd be easy to fool in the future." Zeke retorted, warning Allesiah about the possible dangers she could encounter.
"I know. But it's not like trusting in people is such a bad thing." Allesiah sat closer to Zeke, her shoulder rubbing against his.
"There's a lot of evil going on in Mythos right now. A lot of which are shrouded in events that would've stayed a mystery until you came. But the point is that, most of the inhabitants didn't want this right? If anything, it's only Glade who's connected to the events." The elf furthered.
"And that proves what exactly?"
"Well for the most part, it proves that even in darkness, light can come out." Allesiah began, looking at Zeke as if to indicate that he was this light.
"That even in despair there is hope. And just because one is sunk in the depths of hell, this does not necessarily turn them into bad people."
"You know that reasoning isn't half bad. You should probably be included in the ranks of those pesky gods. You'd do a better job than them I'm sure." Was Zeke's quick response as he felt Allesiah's head tilt on his shoulders once again. Something which he was getting used to
"Don't flatter me too much Zeke." Allesiah said in reply. Savoring the short moment she shared with Zeke as there was another long day of fighting ahead of her.
"It's not flattery if it's true." Was the gamer's short response. The two stayed as they were for a couple more minutes. Waiting for the sun to beginning rising for the missions that lay ahead.
