The Gamer who traveled to Honkai: Star Rail

Chapter 391: Chapter 390: Phantylia’s Lament

The Herta Puppet continued, "Alright, I've shared the tech tree with the other researchers. If everything goes according to plan, in about thirty Earth days, the first warship should be complete. You should start making preparations—once the time limit is up, we're launching an all-out extermination campaign against the Antimatter Legion forces still on Earth."

Pei Guang rubbed his chin. "Thirty days, huh?"

The Herta Puppet asked, "Too fast? We can slow it down if you need."

Pei Guang shook his head, "No, you misunderstand—I was thinking it's kind of slow. Looks like I'll have to head back to the Xianzhou or the Astral Express for a bit and kill time. I won't have much to do here in the meantime anyway. Perfect chance to visit the Scalegorge Waterscape—maybe I can try fishing there and see if I can reel in some insane stat-boosting items. That place is basically a soup of immortality, after all."

Pei Guang had confirmed through his tests that the size of the fish he caught depended on the container holding the water. In other words, if he fished in a trash can, he could only catch fish about the size of the trash can. If he wanted bigger fish, he needed to go to the ocean.

And he had a feeling that the fish in the regular ocean wouldn't have the best attributes. But the sea in the Scalesgorge Waterscape was different—after all, the Vidyadhara were born there. If he used top-quality bait, he was sure he could fish up items that would significantly boost his attributes.

As long as he had enough time, he could let himself and his subordinates consume these resources, increasing their chances against the Legion's Voidrangers.

Even with the absurd acceleration ratio of the time-dilated space, Pei Guang still felt it wasn't enough. This was a battle of wits between him and the Lord Ravager—the same Lord Ravager who's trying to wipe out Earth's resistance in its own way.

Despite all the fun he was having, Pei Guang's grand strategy had never stopped. His plan was simple and brutal: accelerate time, send in scientists to speed-run the technology tree, and meanwhile, he himself would scavenge as much as possible.

Even though he had a way to wipe out all the Voidrangers, he figured his faction should at least be capable of winning even if he did nothing.

After all, what's the point of ruling the galaxy if he had to personally handle every little problem? That would be way too exhausting.

Thus, his primary goal was to advance human technology on Earth.

As an RTS player, Pei Guang was very aware of his role: set development goals, choose attack targets, establish policies, and ensure his people thrive.

However, just like any strategy game, a player didn't micromanage every tiny detail. His job was simply to track progress, ensure that in a few years, the right advancements came through, and handle macro-level decision-making.

Even in games that required micro-management, the actual work was just clicking through simple UI options. Outside of that? It was just waiting for the timers to finish.

Right now, the Lord Ravager still thought that Earth's resistance was only possible because of some Xianzhou-supplied technology. So, it wasn't increasing the invasion intensity. But once it realized that humans had a freaking time machine, and worse, that Pei Guang's technology tree was downright ridiculous, the situation would be completely different.

The Voidrangers still infesting Earth were largely dormant, activating in waves to push the frontline forward bit by bit.

But if the Lord Ravager realized what was happening, it wouldn't just sit around. It would send everything at once—every Voidranger, every Doomsday Beast, and possibly more.

If that happened before Earth was ready, Pei Guang would have no choice but to evacuate everyone.

That was why every second inside the accelerated time zone had to count. By the end of this cycle, humanity needed to be capable of handling the Doomsday Beasts.

As long as humans could achieve interstellar travel, Pei Guang could supplement their fleets with all the rare materials he had looted from various places. If they could reach warp travel, equipping them with enough weapons to kill Doomsday Beasts wouldn't be an issue.

Once the Doomsday Beast was neutralized, Pei Guang figured the Lord Ravager would be forced to reassess Earth's threat level. That meant it would probably take a few extra days or weeks to strategize—giving Pei Guang even more time to accelerate technological development and keep himself ahead.

And if the Lord Ravager personally intervened?

Well, Pei Guang would love that.

If that thing really wanted to show up, Pei Guang would immediately teleport to Jing Yuan, grab him and his Lighting Lord, and personally slap the Lord Ravager in the face with them.

But the thing Pei Guang really wanted to see—what kind of expression would the Lord Ravager make when it realized that in just a few days, Earth had advanced to interstellar technology? And in less than a month, they could be cruising the universe in starships?

He had no idea what its reaction would be.

But right now, there were four 'spectators', of which two Lord Ravagers, trapped inside the Star Destroyer's power core, watching everything unfold in absolute shock.

Even for an Emanator, accelerating time required a significant amount of effort. And yet, Pei Guang's side had managed to do it with just a machine? At this point, they were seriously questioning—who was the real Emanator here?

Time manipulation wasn't exactly rare in this universe. Many factions could accelerate, decelerate, or even stop time within localized areas. However, the way Earth handled it—just capturing a few Voidrangers and using them as a power source—was absolutely absurd.

And that wasn't even the craziest part.

What else had Phantylia just witnessed?

Pei Guang fishing in a bucket and pulling out food that increased lifespan and enhanced strength? And on top of that, Pathstriders from Earth were popping up like mass-produced goods?

Phantylia: "I was so stupid… why did I ever make an enemy of this guy?"

At this point, Phantylia was regretting everything—regretting attacking March 7th on the Xianzhou, regretting getting captured, regretting ending up in this situation.

She kept thinking: If only I hadn't attacked March 7th back then…

If she hadn't been captured, she wouldn't have ended up in this state. And if she hadn't ended up in this state, she could've used her abilities to disguise herself, infiltrate Pei Guang's side, and followed him instead.

Wouldn't following Pei Guang be far better than serving the Aeon of Destruction?

Too bad.

There was no medicine for regret in this world.

Pei Guang wasn't the type to spare enemies who had harmed his companions. Sure, a lot of storylines had characters who were forced to betray their allies and later redeemed themselves.

But Pei Guang was certain—Phantylia was not that kind of character. She was better off as a resource or just a tool for mockery.

And if Pei Guang knew what she was thinking, he would have simply laughed and said:

"Relax. In every game, novel, and anime, Earth is always full of geniuses. It's just a fact."

After all, this was Earth—his homeworld's template.

A few geniuses here and there? Completely normal.

As for why this Earth had been bullied so badly?

Well…

That was simply because the players hadn't arrived yet.

Now that he was here?

Those who invaded his turf and dared to oppress Earth—

They were all getting stomped.
