The Gamer who traveled to Honkai: Star Rail

Chapter 382: Chapter 381: Elysia Learns the Golden Rule, Trash = Treasure

As the main tank and aggro-holder, Pei Guang's threat control was impeccable. In just over ten hours, he and the soldiers successfully wiped out nearly ten thousand Voidrangers throughout the entire city.

At the beginning, the capture rate was abysmally low. Aside from March 7th, who could reliably subdue them, most soldiers—despite wielding weapons provided by Pei Guang and Welt—either ended up killing the Voidrangers in one strike or barely inflicting light wounds.

Fortunately, Stelle was there to cover for them. The moment she noticed something going wrong, she would immediately rush in and smash the Voidranger to pieces before it could escape.

By the time the battle was over, only about one-tenth of the Voidrangers had been successfully captured. However, Pei Guang wasn't worried: to him, this was just a phase for improving their proficiency. At first, they needed to fight a hundred Voidrangers just to capture one, but by the end, they were managing to capture five out of every ten.

On paper, the overall recovery rate seemed like only ten percent, but in practice, their success rate had already improved to fifty percent. That was more than enough for Pei Guang to be satisfied.

From common Reavers to high-ranking Tramplers, every Voidranger in this abandoned city had either been eliminated or sent to the rear as resources via Chronosphere.

With the cleanup of the city complete, Pei Guang now turned his attention to the part he loved the most—looting!

As they walked through the ruined streets, Pei Guang scanned the broken cityscape and swallowed hard. It wasn't just him—Stelle and March 7th were also rubbing their hands together in excitement, their eyes practically sparkling as if they were about to feast on a grand banquet.

Pei Guang gazed at the numerous trash cans, chests, and wrecked buildings along the streets, unable to contain his enthusiasm.

Pei Guang: "This is amazing. Absolutely amazing! An entire city's worth of resources just waiting to be collected—I've never fought such a profitable battle before!"

Stelle, just as hyped, chimed in: "Right?! Back in Belobog, tearing things apart was fun, but it still felt like something was missing. This time, we can finally go all out! But… can just the three of us open all of these?"

Pei Guang: "Not a problem! Let me call in reinforcements!"

Just as Pei Guang was about to rally the rest of their group, he noticed Elysia approaching from the distance, casually waving as she walked over.

Elysia: "Hey there~ everyone! We've finished dismantling and transporting all the Voidrangers. Shouldn't we be heading back now?"

For Elysia, this had been the most relaxing mission yet. Pei Guang had drawn all the enemy aggro up front, while she had simply followed along and learned how to inflict non-lethal damage on the Voidrangers.

Seeing Elysia join them, Stelle tilted her head curiously and asked, "Ah Guang, do you think Elysia could get something good from looting?"

Pei Guang: "No idea. Let's test it out. She's my lieutenant and adjutant, so I figure she's got what it takes!"

March 7th also chimed in excitedly, "If everyone helps us loot resources, this is going to be so much easier! But wait, with all this stuff, do we even have enough storage space?"

Pei Guang pointed to the soldiers in the distance who had finished their tasks and were waiting for new orders. "Have them use the Chronosphere to send everything to the rear logistics team. They can sort and categorize the loot for us. With this much stuff, we could probably make a fortune selling it to the NPCs in my territory!"

Even though the entire Earth was technically Pei Guang's now, whenever he thought about acquiring things, his first instinct was to spend money. He couldn't help it—years of playing games had ingrained this habit. No matter how high a player's reputation was in their own domain, things still cost money. That was just how it worked, and Pei Guang was used to it.

Of course, there was always the option of looting outright, but he was thinking long-term. This was a real world—stealing from one person might lower goodwill from an entire group or even a whole faction. That kind of loss wasn't worth it.

Besides, scavenging and selling loot was an essential part of gaming.

As Pei Guang and the others chatted happily, Elysia walked over, curiosity sparkling in her eyes. "Eh? What are you guys talking about? You look like you're having so much fun. Can I join in?"

She seemed eager, clearly sensing that the conversation wasn't anything secretive, just a topic that had them in high spirits.

Pei Guang took a few steps forward and suddenly grabbed Elysia's wrist. Surprised by the unexpected contact, she blinked in confusion and looked at him. "Eh? What's this about? Cough, cough—wait, could it be that Ah Guang has fallen for my charm? But—"

Before she could finish, she felt her other wrist being grabbed. She instinctively turned her head and saw Stelle grinning brightly.

That smile—radiant, cheerful, yet somehow giving off the feeling that this girl had no social awareness at all.

If it had been just Pei Guang grabbing her, she could have teased him a little. But now, with Stelle also holding onto her, an uneasy feeling started creeping up her spine.

Pei Guang pulled her forward a few steps, and Elysia, feeling a little tense, asked, "Ah Guang, what's going on? Cough, cough, I'm your adjutant, I won't run away! But don't do this, I'm scared…"

Stelle grinned wider. "Even if you're scared, there's no escape!"

March 7th gave Stelle a side glance. "The way you said that makes it sound even scarier. Elysia, don't be afraid~ We're just taking you to play something fun, something that only we can enjoy together!"

At that moment, Elysia became even more terrified.

She wasn't afraid of Pei Guang having improper thoughts about her. After all, when it came to those kinds of things, she might not have experience, but she figured if she just closed her eyes and braced herself, she could get through it.

Besides, she had never sensed that kind of intention from Pei Guang. If he had such thoughts, he wouldn't hide them.

He openly admired her outfit, loved looking at her thigh-high boots, and openly appreciated her appearance. That kind of straightforward, player-like fondness—she could accept.

But precisely because Pei Guang was so pure in that way, she was scared.

Yes, when someone has obvious desires, you can at least predict their next move. Whether to resist or accept is another matter.

What was truly terrifying was Pei Guang and the others, looking at her with the expression of someone who had just found an incredibly rare treasure—without saying a word—while dragging her off to do something unknown.

But then, Elysia saw something that truly terrified her—Pei Guang and Stelle were dragging her toward a closed trash can.

No one knew why the Antimatter Legion had invaded this city but had mysteriously left the trash cans untouched. Even less could be said about what might be inside. But staring into the dark crevice between the lid and the bin, Elysia felt an overwhelming call from the abyss.

She instinctively swallowed hard, and Pei Guang, standing beside her, spoke in a gentle yet expectant tone. "My dear adjutant, my sweet and innocent Elysia, why don't you try opening a treasure chest?"

In that instant, Elysia's pupils shrank. She couldn't understand what this trash can had to do with a treasure chest.

Stelle, standing beside her, spoke with reverence. "Elysia, you're Ah Guang's adjutant. You're our trusted companion! I believe in you. Your first try will definitely yield something good. And don't be fooled by appearances—trash cans are the greatest things in this world."

March 7th added, "That's right! Did you know? You can even find a starship in a trash can!"

Pei Guang smiled. "Come on, give it a try!"

Stelle nodded enthusiastically. "Exactly! You're special, you know? If it were anyone else, they wouldn't even get the chance to try."

A certain Supreme Guardian from Belobog would have something to say about this. Back then, she had personally witnessed the Trailblazer digging up all sorts of treasures from trash cans. But for various reasons, she herself didn't get a chance to open one until much later.

And now, Elysia was being given the opportunity that Bronya once longed for but couldn't obtain. If Bronya saw this, she would probably shed tears of envy.

Pei Guang and Stelle guided Elysia's hand toward the lid, ready to open the " treasure chest." Seeing this, Elysia resisted with all her strength, her body instinctively leaning backward, unwilling to accept this horrifying ordeal.

Elysia protested, "Ah Guang! Stelle! March! That's a trash can! A trash can! Who knows how long that garbage has been sitting inside? It could even—"

Pei Guang reassured her, "Isn't that great? We take out the treasure, clean up the trash, and all the ammo we used in this battle is recovered!"

Stelle added, "Yeah! I understand—your first time might feel a little gross, but don't worry. Once you get used to it and Ah Guang stores everything in his inventory, you won't have a single residue left on your body."

Elysia: "!!!"

Just as she struggled against them, Kevin, noticing the commotion, walked over. "What's going on here?"

Elysia seized the opportunity. "Kevin! Help me! They're forcing me to open a trash can!"

Kevin blinked. "Open a trash can? Is there something inside?"

Without thinking too much about it, Kevin simply stepped forward, reached out, and lifted the lid of the overstuffed trash can.
