The Fox God VTuber Climbing the Tower

Chapter 94

“Robert, before we go in… is there anything we can use as a cape? Something cool would be great.”

“Hmm… how about a star-spangled banner? It seems like it would look pretty cool.”

“Red would be preferable, but… well, it’s not bad.”

Jiang Yeoul was preparing for a performance before entering the Tampa Tower.

People tend to pursue what they can see with their own eyes.

Failing to see because it’s too fast is a miss, and being so chaotic that you can’t figure out what’s happening is a minus.

Of course, during a VTuber live stage, it was important to show a unified image as everyone works together in harmony.

That’s why Wakamou was eager to showcase everyone’s collaborative efforts during a group stream.

Since it wasn’t going well, Wakamou, who had his mana drastically reduced from stress, needed an outlet for his frustration.

The Incheon Tower is a perfect place to die if you’re careless, and the Kyoto Tower might suddenly challenge you with, “Hey! You scoundrel! I challenge you to a duel!!” insisting on a fair and square match!!

And what about the American Tower?

It doesn’t even bother to learn about me? This is playground level!

‘They’re all friendly, but their egos are too strong, making the co-streams a mess every time.’

Thinking about how to smash the tower.

Wakamou considered the strong egos of VTubers as a significant strength and was pondering how to turn this into a harmonious synergy rather than a chaotic debacle.

With nothing but troublemakers in the ranks, they keep exploding wildly.

There was a need for a cute and lovable, perfect VTuber like our dear Maid Bocchi Onion who could seamlessly blend everyone within.

But hearing that one was leaving to pursue their dreams, Wakamou struggled to hold back tears.

Holding back the tears…

A tearful farewell doesn’t suit us….

For a VTuber, graduation means setting out to find a new life, so it should be celebrated, not mourned like death.

However, to fans, it’s virtually identical to what one might call a [finale], never to be seen again, so some might say they’re essentially dead.

They channel this sadness into their poetry…..

“Can I have expectations?!”

Jiang Yeoul, wearing the star-spangled banner like a cape, manipulated mana to switch to a bodysuit previously shown by Manager Wanda Haye, smiling at Robert’s expectations.

When a red cape comes to mind, isn’t it Superman? Although he might not have a similar thing, he thought of handing over the American symbolic star-spangled banner… Unfortunately, there is another famous hero known for wearing the American flag as a cape.

Only, despite the unpopularity of the evaluation… for Wakamou, who’s somewhat immersed in culture, threw in a famous line from a more famous drama than the comics.

“Listen up, Robert. I’m Wakamou. I can do whatever I want.”

“…You’re not Superman, are you?”

“You gave me the wrong cape.”

※※※

[You are climbing the 22nd floor of Tampa Tower]

-Overcome the tower’s challenges to reach the 60th floor.

-Survive or die, win the duel!

-[Brutal Tier Monster] Bloody Monkey appears!

-Where’s the Leader???

-Show up, you failed collab Leader!!!

-Is it true Ichigo and Mare Pirate rolled together on the sofa?!

-Asuka said it’ll come out if you suck on it, is it true?!

-Mama!! Goo goo ga ga!!!

-It really turned into a mental ward!!!!

-Uh, but no greetings today??!

This wasn’t like the usual Wakamou. Was the shock of another failed collab really that great?

In the forest, red-furred monkeys the size of humans, holding guns, were rampaging with fierce cries.

They seemed to be searching for Wakamou, looking around everywhere, and the cameras, which should have been showing Wakamou’s face, were just capturing the monsters.

“I just want to be loved.”

And then quietly came Jiang Yeoul’s voice.

With a much more pleasant and beautiful voice than May’s light one and Wakamou’s heavy masculine voice, many Believers wanted her to perform ASMR-like sounds for them.

Sensing the impending appearance of Wakamou, the Believers excitedly typed away in chat, saying whatever they wanted.

Managers couldn’t handle the wave of people discussing trivial things or making unnecessary remarks, violating the broadcast’s rules.

Knowing that Asuka was aware of Wakamou’s terrible mood, she strictly enforced chat restrictions on everyone, managing it thoroughly.

The sight of Asuka working harder than usual, pulling in more computing power, seemed like she was trying to prove, “Master!! Asuka is a good familiar!!”

The viewers noticed too, as they watched her behavior, emphasizing her manager title by repeatedly displaying her name in the chat, expressing surprise at her uncharacteristic actions.

“But if I can’t do that… it’s not bad to be an object of fear, either.”

Flap─

Due to the strong light pouring from above, her face became obscured in shadow.

But knowing she was dressed in a suit that clung to her body and a fluttering cape, the Believers smiled in arousal.

However, the Believers who thought they had heard Wakamou’s line somewhere couldn’t laugh.

-Isn’t this some infamous character’s line?

-Who is it then, Superman?

-There’s something based on Superman.. uh, hmm….

-Why can’t you say it, Believer?

-It’s a psychopath, man.

-Hahahahahhaha

-Hah? lol?

-It’s a superhero from an American drama, but they’re a psycho!!!

-It’s a genuine cape of the stars and stripes.

-We.are.doomed!!

-Didn’t I tell you to stop teasing, you guys!!!!

-Today, the Believers who’ve gone rotten will be wiped out. You’ve crossed the line.

-Please spare me!! I’ve seen it with my bare eyes, Wakamou-san!! I’ll report it!!

In the form of a psycho superhero cosplay from a famous American drama, Wakamou, or rather Jiang Yeoul, instilled fear and terror among the Believers.

The overwhelming display at the 50th floor of unarmed combat was impactful, and although many had speculated renaming (?) themselves as Dalki, most of the viewers were wondering why.

Floating down from the sky instead of landing, Jiang Yeoul was slightly hovering.

This trick was simply placing two cameras inside her shoes. Also, by lightening her body with [Weight of Faith] and floating her body using [Idol’s Storm], she was doing more unnecessary things than expected.

“[Ueeeeck]!!”

“[Keieck!! Kkeeek!!!]”

As the gunfire rang out, Jiang Yeoul stood still.

The direct bullet hit caused metal clanging sounds which deflected, scattering bullets below.

Each collision produced sparks, causing bullets to fall below Jiang Yeoul.

Some Believers noticed it was more intense than when it was shown in China initially, but—

-What’s this?

-Leader, why are your eyes glowing..

-No way, right? Oh no, right?

-It’d be great if you said no to this!!

-I’m about to lose it…

Her golden eyes began to turn red, and soon her entire eyes became crimson, emitting beams of light.

The skill description of [Idol’s Thunder] is converting held mana into lightning. [VTuber Asset] means mana.

In other words, [Dazzling Glow (color change possible)] was ultimately light and mana.

As mentioned before, it consumed mana at a ridiculous rate. Was it because, purely speaking, it was ‘light,’ making it difficult to maintain the form? Thanks to that, the mana was absurdly reduced through multiplication, but the mana was more than sufficient.

Thummmmmmmind———!!!

Beams of red light shot from her eyes, following her vision and taking a wide angle even with slight head movement, grazing the landscape, setting it ablaze, and reducing it to rubble.

Though it was written as light, it was essentially lightning shooting out from her eyes, scorching and slicing the landscape, scattering the Bloody Monkeys’ bodies, turning them into ash and scattered parts.

“Ufufu, ahahaha!!!”

It’s laughter from exhilaration, but since the setting was to smile, she laughed devilishly with her mouth stretched to her ears, stopping Believers from typing on their keyboards.

Though the Leader took hits like a sandbag every day and cherished and played with the Believers, rumors of him often being crass and showing aggressive behavior during the Clipper era were true.

It seemed like the Wakamou of those times had returned… or maybe even reverted back to his darkened period, which gave an eerie quietness to the chatroom.

Though 100,000 were watching, the chat seemed to have come to a pause.

“Oh, did the chat stop?”

-No no no.

-Wakamou-sama is the best!!!

-Bring back the motherly affection to us…

-Darn, Pirate was right!!!!

-This isn’t our gentle mama…!!

-The beam from the eyes, flying, and super strength….

-I wish it was Superman.

-Someone, play the Starman song!!!

“Believers like these sorts of things~“It’s called nanomachines, rookie.”

-Haha, there it is, LOL

-The famous line has arrived, lol

-Truly doing whatever they want.

-Doing all the cool stuff for themselves!!!

The swift and nimble Gazer, usually leaving afterimages with its agile movements, struck repeatedly, but Kang Yeoul didn’t budge.

Standing steady, practically inviting the hits, she combined her steadfast stance with a smile, making it clear she was underestimating them.

With the skill effect of [Idol’s Mineral], [Idol’s Body], it consumed her mana to cover her exterior with [Mineral].

The problem was that minerals didn’t offer flexibility, making movements impossible and locking her once transformed, reverting back to mana upon skill deactivation due to its scattering nature.

Despite such limitations, it was considered a [Defensive Skill], capable of enduring even a direct hit from a [Mana Burn].

With Dorrison J Jackson’s guidance, Wakamou learned [Rare Metals] were minerals too, enabling even their incorporation at a high mana cost.

“It becomes harder in response to physical shock. You’d never guess how many [Rare Metals] are mixed in.”

With the ability to mix and swap at will, alloys could even be created as desired.

Of course, if rare and numerous minerals were combined, the mana cost might make getting hit by a [Mana Burn] a preferable choice.

Like Mare Pirate’s [Shape-shifting], Wakamou’s arm turned black as a sharp, dark blade emerged.

Despite being evolved to compensate for the sole weakness of fragile defenses, the Gazer’s head was swiftly severed by the metallic blade Wakamou swung.

And starting from the tip of the blade, the metal sword gradually disintegrated into black dust.

-Is it really nanomachines?

-Haha, LOL

-How many skills are there!!!

-While Mei uses martial arts, this one’s a monster!!

-“Got weaker”

-Can’t imagine what they were like at their peak.

-Probably the legendary super fox with 1000 heads and golden fur once in a thousand years.

-Guess why Gumiho has golden fur, believers?

-Ah, HAHA

“Shall we keep moving forward?”

-Keep moving forward….

-Said by the division captain, that famous line…

-Tomaranai!!

-It’s the Virtual Live catchphrase!!!

-Let’s go, Captain!!

Reacting to Kang Yeoul’s lines, believers laughed and chattered along. Being in America, she vowed to deliver whatever’s popular there! And showcased all that was fun.

Such exhausting usage might leave nothing for the climb of Incheon Tower in the future, but no antics like these would be possible at Incheon Tower.

On merely showcasing, they would exploit the gap, discern the next move, or declare, “Aha? Let’s whip this out. That is forbidden,” exploiting the weaknesses.

Seems like the [American Tower] couldn’t discern Wakamou’s information, treating him with fairness and adherence to manuals.

Their cluelessness regarding the class led to random counters, and giving out guns was already absurd enough.

Moreover, they foolishly administered poison, finding it pathetic given the immunity Wakamou possessed toward poisons.

Clink─

[Climbing the Tampa Tower at Floor 27]

-Conquer the trials of the Tower to reach the 60th floor.

-Judge between life or death, win the duel!

-[Brutal Grade Monster] [Monster Gang] Appears!

“Huh─?”

Upon arrival, Wakamou was greeted by orcs and goblins pointing guns at him. Then, dwarfs, lizardmen, bloody monkeys, and even [Frog Shooters] were added to the sight, prompting uncontrolled laughter from Wakamou. The monstrous army numbered no less than 50, at the least.

The monsters, blatantly calling themselves a gang, fired guns and unleashed bullets.

Eventually, the bullets were halted mid-air.

The broadcast seemed to stutter slightly, as viewers noted the hovering bullets curiously.

Then echoed entrancing music.

They applied delay to the camera feed, slowing the transmission as much as possible.

In that moment, they recorded, edited, and aired the modified footage as slow motion.

With the help of Aoi Asuka and utilizing full concentration with Mei, Wakamou artificially created a kind of ultrahigh-speed camera.

Sparks flew violently from Kang Yeoul’s body as she walked through the stopped bullets.

Mana dropped alarmingly at a rate of 50,000 per second in this state.

Safety dictated she could feature no more than 29 seconds, due to the severe mana exhaustion, making it a flawed skill –

But from a viewer’s standpoint, it looked powerfully cool and incredible.

Traveling through the slowed world, Kang Yeoul playfully bumped into the monsters while gentle nudges sent them spiraling, and when the transmission briefly stuttered back to real-time, monsters collided, engulfed in a thunderous explosion, getting hit by their bullets, and fell in piles.

“Tada~”

With only 10,000 mana remaining, Kang Yeoul hadn’t lost her smile.

Despite being drained beyond measure, Wakamou was drenched in cold sweat, while Mei vomited uncontrollably into a bucket. Benefiting from professionalism, Kang Yeoul unfailingly presented the audience with a captivating display!

“Think I nailed it..!!”

“Sigh”

Seeing Mei writhing in tears, claiming she couldn’t withstand it was a blessing, as Wakamou breathed a sigh of relief.

Unaware of the events unfolding in Korea, the viewers remained ignorant and continued to marvel over the [superspeed world] Kang Yeoul had presented.

-Haha, LOL

-The visual was killer, damn, LOL

-Is this ultra-high-speed camera…?

-Feels American hero movie-level.

-Just let the leader debut in Hollywood?

-Might not accept beauty.

-Ah, LOL, not politically correct lol

-Then why not just film it themselves!!

-Are you not tuning in for Ichigo’s membership broadcast?

-Oh, shooting right now, LOL

“Now, shall we head up right away?”

Even standing was becoming difficult for Kang Yeoul. Before she collapsed, they quickly ascended to the next floor.

Then, iron bars dropped, trapping Kang Yeoul with a thud.

Unable to hide her astonishment, Kang Yeoul grasped the bars. Suddenly, a bubbling lava surface revealed itself beneath her.

A conspicuous [button] across the way seemed to unlock the prison.

-Do they have this stuff in America?

-What kind of movie is this??

-Would Our Leader not die even if falling into the lava..?

-What crime has the lava committed!!!

-Starting off with a gimmick battle, lol

-Push that switch, it opens, right?

-The monsters laughing is killing me, lol

Including the newly added five restrained Gazers, the gang had doubled in numbers compared to before.

“It feels like holding a fan meeting.”

With that, Kang Yeoul leaned towards the bars.

Transforming into a silver liquid, she passed right through the bars.

A display of the future’s liquid metal killing machine left the monsters in shock.

Bullets rained in, this time deforming and denting the liquid metal Kang Yeoul.

Only momentarily, the mercury-formed body began to recover as if nothing had happened.

-TER, MIN, A, TOR, lol

-Where is John Connor!!!

-Seeing it in reality makes it scarier, damn, lol

-Get liquid nitrogen!!!

-Frogs do have a freezing shot skill, though.

-But if it hits, won’t the leader burn too?

-Then just die.

-Right, lol

Kang Yeoul wasn’t exactly the “main body.” Being merely a “substitute,” transforming her whole being into mercury belonging to the metal category using [Idol’s Mineral] posed no issue.

Despite claiming it as mineral, being able to utilize any metal brought curiosity over if uranium might be a possibility… to which Wakamou decided against trying.

Attempting that would indeed result in a manhunt.

Guaranteed the world would freak out… someday he planned to test that just on the [Six Legged Beast].

‘In this state, I’d be completely immune to a [Mana Burn].’

All mana was held by Wakamou, enabling the liquid metal form of the substitute to operate.

Simply put, it’s akin to remotely controlling a golem summon.

Having just discovered a way to overcome vulnerability, Wakamou grinned inside.

Though it bore the disadvantage of being ineffective for the main body, coupled with the inability to move against being called an artwork by Adelheid – thankfully an ally – while having to ponder the possibility of being captured upon gazing at her illustrations─ Wakamou vowed to never lose composure.

Buzz──

[VTuber Asset]+[VTuber Asset]+[Idol’s Thunder]+[Idol’s Form] combined.

Though it initially merely appeared as a lightsaber hilt, [Idol’s Thunder] produced the light, and [Idol’s Form] superimposed an image over it.

Adding VTuber asset put color on it; reality portrayed a trivial form hardly surpassing that of a [plasma welder], with dressing expenses overwhelmingly exorbitant.

But that doesn’t matter, it looks damn cool!!!

You just can’t resist the allure of a lightsaber!!!

Even as bullets poured in, Kang Yeoul didn’t budge.

With each leisurely step, she wielded and sliced through bullet trajectories seemingly foreseen while effortlessly demolishing advancing monsters.

Not even unseen attacks from the back went undefended, countered, or unapologetically bisected by the one-handedly wielded dazzling lightsaber actions of Kang Yeoul.

Had it been declared a [Star Wars] film set, one could easily believe it, mesmerized by her arresting swordsmanship display.

-Feels different, lol

-The fluid lightsaber acrobatics are alive!!!

-This is what we wanted!!!

-Overpowered, lol

-Can’t help but be amazed every time they block the unseen, lol

Not stopping there, Mei, now invisible, teleported into the scene.

As Kang Yeoul reached toward the void, a goblin levitated.

Carefully coordinated, Mei raised it amidst the act, with Wakamou lifting it higher due to Mei’s shorter stature.

Synchronizing with the snapping gesture, the goblin’s neck snapped, and tossed it across only to have it slam into the floor as cameras captured heaps of monstrous corpses.

-Classical Force Grip, lol

-Can they use telekinesis too??

-What can’t they do!!!

-How did they lift the hidden goblin without seeing it?

-If it’s visible to us, the leader sees it too, lol

-Was it a thriller, LOL

[Climbing the Tampa Tower at Floor 29]

-Conquer the trials of the Tower to reach the 60th floor.

-Judge between life or death, win the duel!

-[Brutal Grade Monster] [Vampire Outlaw] Appears!

Ascending to the 29th floor with a lightsaber in hand, an unfamiliar monster greeted Kang Yeoul.

“[Ah~ such a lovely lady… wouldn’t she let me savor her blood? But first, let’s discard what doesn’t suit you.]”

Pale skin and red eyes, appearing unmistakenly vampire, even in attire.

Having heard that such a monster existed in the American Tower, Kang Yeoul wasn’t expecting its emergence; the weapon in her grasp was automatically deactivated as the vampire secured it.

-Weapon theft is what, lol

-There are quite a few disarmament-oriented skills.

-Hence carrying multiple weapons.

-Despicable to steal the lightsaber!!!

Though deprived of the lightsaber, Kang Yeoul folded her hands behind, merely observing.

Possibly taught by the American Tower or not, in vain the vampire attempted wielding the lightsaber, discarding it as nothing happened, stopped just short of hitting the ground.

Mei had invisibly lifted it.

As Kang Yeoul posed like using telekinesis, lifting her arm skyward, the lightsaber blade emerged, piercing through the vampire outlaw’s chest.

“[Aaaaargh!!!]”

Inflicted with massive damage, the Vampire Outlaw dissipated into a mist of blood.

Joining Kang Yeoul’s side, it emerged again, arming itself with knuckles aimed at her head; nevertheless, a casual lift and flick sent the Outlaw spiraling, crashing ungracefully headfirst into the ground.

-Lololololol

-Lololol

-Ah, LOL

-Is this real??

-[Shooters] worst kind of nightmare.

-Teenage thugs challenging a martial arts master with knuckles?

-Not inaccurate, lol

With a subtle gesture, Mei rushed in to place the lightsaber in Kang Yeoul’s hand, while Wakamou seized and flung the Vampire Outlaw toward her.

Struggling in futile resistance, it proved worthless.

Determined, Wakamou hurtled the Outlaw with full force toward Kang Yeoul, who elegantly sliced it to pieces with the resounding buzz of the gracefully wielding lightsaber.

The scattered corpse fragments and neatly sheathed lightsaber were disregarded, as Kang Yeoul swept her hair behind an ear.

“The American Tower feels like a playground, incredibly fun~ Doesn’t it, believers?”

-That’s right, lol

-Ah, what vampire, lol

-Can they suck blood, though?

-No chance, lol

-Seen enough of the American Tower’s level…

-The greatest in America now, confirmed awesome.

-Keep your distance, American Tower… know your place…

-The thing American Tower faces, Wakamou?, Not enough, show respect.

-I’ll crush you. My America tour today will be your trauma.

-Seeking more in Tampa but ending undefeated in Incheon Tower, lol

-Nurtured monster by Korea Tower is too easy a foe.

-Heart isn’t racing, dopamine is lacking!!!

-Really, just playing around, lololol

While Korea Tower was the tormenter, the American Tower served as the surprising outlet of its ire.

When else could Wakamou freely taunt, relentlessly slamming the American Tower devoid of merits or rewards?

In short order, they’d soon reach the 30th floor.

Had the American Tower accepted the challenge?

[Climbing the Tampa Tower at Floor 30]

-Conquer the trials of the Tower to reach the 60th floor.

-Judge between life or death, win the duel!

-[Hardcore Violent Grade Monster] [Doppelganger] Appears!!

Upon ascending the tower, Kang Yeoul was greeted by a shadowy figure.

Swiftly, mimicking [Wakamou Inarizushi]’s visage, the shadow illusorily transformed.

Erupting as a colossal 2-meter giant, displaying a rarely-seen ghastly smile, raising its fist – it stayed unmistakably monstrous.

At the Doppelganger’s debut, the audience held their breath in anticipation.

Yet Kang Yeoul continued to smile.

“….Are you stupid?”

A sincerely inquisitive remark, accompanied by hurling a mana-imbued blade into its forehead followed by hiding within a portal.

The flashy explosion obliterated the Doppelganger.

Despite the impropriety of using foul language, finding it overwhelmingly ludicrous caused Kang Yeoul to collapse, stretching over the grass with tears of laughter.
