Chapter 22: The Spring of the Chubby Girl 1
"Remember to dress nicely tomorrow," Lucas said as time passed, his dependence on Elora growing stronger. He had decided that he could no longer live without her, so he resolved to bring her home to meet his parents the next day.
Elora, though a bit confused, nodded seriously in agreement.
...
However, when Elora stood in front of Ridge's family home, she found herself somewhat disoriented. How had they ended up here? She had been pulled along by Lucas, half-conscious, into the living room.
"Mom, Dad, I'm going to marry Elora as soon as possible!" Lucas stood before his parents without the slightest hesitation. Now that he had made up his mind to spend his life with Elora, he wanted to marry her quickly so he could feel at ease.
"Alright, I'll get everything ready right away." Lucas's mother, the first to respond, beamed with joy. Her son had finally come to his senses and decided to marry the woman she had chosen for him. How could she not be happy?
Elora, upon hearing Lucas's words, was frozen in shock. Was this a proposal? Was this... a proposal? Was this really happening without a ring? Were they seriously preparing to get married like this?
Suddenly, Elora felt something cold on her finger. She looked down to see a ring. How did he have a ring? Had he been carrying it all this time?
"Ah... I passed by a jewelry store earlier and just went in to look. I happened to buy it, and I've been carrying it with me ever since." Lucas explained somewhat awkwardly, clearing his throat to cover his embarrassment. "From now on, you'll be my wife."
Elora, still in a daze, nodded in response, accepting this proposal—albeit an untraditional one.
"Ding... Target's affection increased by +8. Current affection of male lead: 100."
"Client, would you prefer to live this life with Lucas, or would you like me to complete the task for you?" Elora communicated with her contractor in her mind.
"I want to live with Lucas. After all, he's the first person I've loved, and he'll be the last." The contractor responded without hesitation.
"Alright, Vixen, prepare to withdraw the soul!"
...
Back at the Temporal Bureau, Elora now sat in the reception area, awaiting the next client.
In front of her sat a very plump girl, looking like a small mountain. Her face was round, with her features somewhat compressed together, but her eyes stood out, especially striking.
"I... I just want to ask, will your chairs be able to support me?" The plump girl asked nervously.
"..."
Elora's face twitched. This had nothing to do with the task at hand, but she patiently answered, "Don't worry, our chairs are very sturdy. Even with two of you, they won't break."
"Then I can relax!" The girl gave a relieved sigh, patting her chest.
"..."
"Do you know our rules here?" Elora took a sip of her green tea, asking calmly.
"Yes!" The girl responded eagerly.
"Do you have any wishes?"
"I like Cole. He's my classmate. He's handsome, smart, always top of the class, and every time I see him, I'm happy. I know I'm too fat and unattractive, so I can only secretly admire him from a distance. After graduation, he went abroad because his family is well-off, but I still follow his life, gathering all kinds of information about him. He keeps getting better, but I..." The girl's voice trailed off as her eyes dimmed. "Then, I was diagnosed with cancer, caused by obesity. I won't live much longer. I regret it so much. If I had another chance, I'd wish for a healthy body, to be beautiful, and to be with Cole!" Her eyes began to shine with hope as she spoke.
"Then, as you wish!" Elora smiled warmly.
