Chapter 23: All Star Team Up and Atomic Endeavors (REMAKE)

"Okay, so she controls bees," Cisco announced, his voice a mix of awe and disgust. "Robotic bees. That's… oddly specific. And terrifying. I'm thinking 'Bug-Eyed Bandit'?"

"Sounds about right," Adam said, peering at the holographic display of the robotic swarm. "Though, honestly, I was hoping for something a little more… giant robot related. But hey, robotic bees. Of course. Just when I thought my death portfolio was getting boring."

" Robotic bees. Of course. Just when I thought my death portfolio was getting boring. But hey, 'Technopathic Interface'? Now I can probably hack my toaster with my mind. The possibilities!"

The Cortex was buzzing with more than just bee talk, though. Felicity Smoak, Oliver Queen's tech guru, was visiting, bringing with her a new, incredibly enthusiastic, and surprisingly wealthy, hero-in-training: Ray Palmer, aka The Atom.

"This is incredible!" Ray exclaimed, examining Cisco's latest gadget with childlike wonder. "The theoretical applications of your vibro-acoustic technology are astounding!"

"Dude, you build a shrinking suit!" Cisco countered, equally excited. "You're like, a real-life Ant-Man! Only… bigger. And with more optimism."

Adam watched them, a genuine smile on his face. This was the good stuff. The crossovers. The moments where the Arrowverse truly felt like a shared universe. And a new hero meant a new opportunity for a skill.

"So, Ray," Adam said, strolling over, "that suit of yours. It's not just for shrinking, right? You can also, like, fly? And shoot energy blasts? Because if so, I'm going to need a demo. For science, obviously."

Ray chuckled. "Well, yes, the suit has… various capabilities. Though I'm still perfecting them."

"Perfecting them, huh?" Adam mused. "Like, say, integrating with other tech? Or perhaps, controlling… smaller, autonomous units? Like, hypothetically, a swarm of robotic bees?" He looked pointedly at the screen displaying the Bug-Eyed Bandit's swarm.

Ray's eyes widened. "That's… an interesting thought, Mr. Stiels. The possibility of a direct neural interface, perhaps? Or a frequency modulation to override their command signals?"

"Exactly!" Adam beamed. "You're a genius, Ray. Just a hunch. My 'enhanced common sense' is telling me that sometimes, the best way to fight technology is with… better technology. Or, you know, by getting yourself stung by a lot of bees."

They tracked Brie Larvan to a tech convention, where she was attempting to steal a revolutionary new micro-processor. Barry was already there, trying to deal with the overwhelming swarm of robotic bees.

"There are too many of them!" Barry's voice crackled over the comms. "I can't get close to her!"

Adam saw his chance. Brie Larvan was surrounded by her swarm, controlling them with a wrist-mounted device. He needed a death from the bees. A death that would give him a tech-related skill.

He deliberately stumbled, falling directly into the path of a particularly dense swarm of robotic bees. They swarmed him, their tiny stingers delivering multiple, painful shocks. He felt the buzzing, the electrical current, the overwhelming sensation of being consumed by tiny machines. Darkness.

[SYSTEM ALERT: DEATH DETECTED. CAUSE: MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL STINGS (BUG-EYED BANDIT'S SWARM).] [LIVES REMAINING: 3/4 (Current Life Activated)] [DEATHS ACHIEVED: 8/20 (Next System Level: Level 5)]

[SKILL ACQUISITION: 'TECHNOPATHIC INTERFACE (MINOR)' HAS BEEN UNLOCKED!] [DESCRIPTION: Grants a rudimentary, instinctive ability to interface with and subtly influence basic electronic devices.]

Adam gasped, his eyes snapping open. He was back in his apartment, disoriented but alive. He felt a strange hum in his fingertips, a faint connection to the electronic devices around him. He focused on his smart speaker, and it subtly flickered, then played a random song.

" 'Technopathic Interface'! Yes! Now I can probably hack my toaster with my mind! Or, you know, subtly turn off the lights during an awkward conversation. The possibilities! Thanks, Brie. You're a real lifesaver. Or, you know, a death-giver who gives life."

He quickly changed, his heart still hammering. He raced back to the tech convention. Brie Larvan was apprehended, thanks to Barry and Ray's combined efforts, and Ray's quick thinking about frequency modulation.

"Adam!" Felicity exclaimed, rushing over. "You're alive! We thought those bees…!"

"I'm surprisingly resilient to bee stings," Adam deadpanned, shrugging. "Must be my 'enhanced common sense' kicking in. And maybe my 'Minor Electrical Resistance' helped. Anyway, good job, guys. And Ray, about those bees… maybe you can figure out how to make them, like, serve coffee? Just a thought."

Ray chuckled, shaking his head. Cisco, however, looked at Adam with a mixture of awe and suspicion. "Dude, your luck is insane. Or you're just really good at getting out of trouble."

"It's a gift," Adam said, winking. "Comes with the territory. Now, if you'll excuse me, I think I need to go see if I can make my microwave do my taxes. For science, obviously."
