Chapter 151 : Misery and Carnage
Alex now stood.
Right in front of them.
James. Sephira. Veyron. Veyra.
And just behind him, as if being protected by his shadow come alive, lay Ava, Charlotte, and Seraphina—their bloodied bodies barely breathing, barely conscious.
The four enemies turned to face the new figure, and for the briefest moment…
They stopped breathing.
Their eyes widened. Their minds went blank.
And then—
They felt it.
The pressure.
An aura so profound, so complete in its domination, that the world itself seemed to still.
The wind didn't blow.
The blood dripping from their fingers froze midair.
Alex stood amidst them—the embodiment of judgment.
Silver hair, tousled and wild, shimmered even beneath the deathly sky—radiant like moonlight kissing still waters.
His face—sharp, defined, otherworldly handsome—carried no emotion.
No smile.
No rage.
Just cold, detached fury.
And his eyes.
Blue. Not just blue.
Galaxies swirled inside them—millions of stars drifting behind his pupils, like a god who had watched creation itself unfold and now returned to end it.
'What… is this…?'
Veyron couldn't even think clearly. The image before him surpassed understanding.
And then there was Alex's right hand.
Black veins surged through the skin, glowing like magma beneath the surface.
Even though a glove covered it, the symbol on the back of his hand pulsed through—an ethereal tree-shaped constellation, its roots spiraling like veins of light, glowing like a tiny sun.
It radiated enough power to make even the Wraiths take a step back.
The aura around Alex was… unnatural.
A fusion of deep abyssal darkness and divine azure light. Swirling like a perfect storm, as if it had waited centuries to awaken. The energies didn't fight—no, they danced, in absolute harmony.
And they obeyed him.
Weapons began to form within the swirling currents—ethereal blades, halberds, spears, bows, and more.
As if sensing his intent…
They moved.
And in a blur—
SHING! SHING! SHING!
Every hidden Expert-ranked soldier—whether cloaked in illusion or perched silently atop the canopy—was sliced down.
Heads rolled.
Blood sprayed like geysers.
Trees exploded into splinters.
Crimson rain poured from the heavens, washing the earth in scarlet.
Veyron flinched.
Sephira swallowed, for once without a grin.
James took a step back.
And then Alex spoke.
Not loudly.
But the world heard it anyway.
It wasn't just this dimension—no.
It felt as if the cosmos itself paused to listen.
"I'll ask this only once."
He took a single step forward.
The dirt underfoot froze from the sheer density of power.
"Which son of a bitch… was the one who kicked me in the face while I was sleeping?"
Silence.
A beat.
Two.
Then—
The trance shattered.
Veyra blinked, pupils dilating.
Veyron inhaled sharply, eyes locking back onto Alex.
On the ground, Charlotte and Seraphina stared up at the figure shielding them.
Blood clung to their skin.
Tears stained their eyes.
But when they looked at that back—tall, broad, immovable—
They felt something.
Not fear.
Not awe.
Peace.
A sense of protection they had never felt before.
'He's… awake.'
Charlotte clutched her trembling chest, eyes glistening.
'We're going to be okay…'
Despite everything—
Despite knowing Alex wasn't as powerful as Ethan, hadn't trained since childhood, hadn't received the divine prophecy or blessings—
Despite all that…
Something about him made them believe.
Not because he was a hero.
But because when everyone else gave up—Alex never did.
The Alex they knew was always carefree, as if he could solve any problem that came his way without much effort.
He annoyed them.
He teased them.
He made them groan with his smug expression and trouble-seeking smile.
But when it mattered—
When it truly mattered—
He always defied expectations.
Charlotte felt laughter bubbling inside her, even amidst the tears.
'He's still mad about someone kicking him in the face… what a dumbass.'
Seraphina, through the haze of pain and blood, found herself smiling faintly, even as tears streamed down her face.
Alden, laying on the ground, still couldn't believe what he was seeing as he watched the Expert-ranks drop like flies.
On the opposite end, Veyron's instincts screamed.
Run.
Run.
RUN.
Every cell in his body begged him to flee before it was too late.
Beside him, Veyra's expression twisted. Not with fear—
But fascination.
"Brother," she whispered, a low tremor in her voice. Her manic eyes never left Alex.
Veyron didn't look away either, every cell in his body telling him to remain cautious. "Yes?"
She raised a trembling hand.
And pointed.
Directly at the silver-haired boy.
"I want him."
Veyron blinked. "...What?"
Veyra's lips curled into a wide, deranged grin. Her body trembled with desire—not of lust, but of obsession.
"I want him," she repeated, her voice rising like a child seeing their favorite toy.
"I want him. I want him. I want him. I want him! I WANT HIM!"
Each repetition grew louder.
Crazier.
She practically screamed it, her eyes wide and unfocused, her fingers twitching with madness.
Veyron's jaw clenched.
'She's serious. She's completely serious.'
Veyra giggled, arms spreading wide as if to embrace the bloodied battlefield.
"You can feel it too, right, brother? That power. That flavor. That chaos… he's perfect!"
Veyron exhaled, rubbing his temple as he glanced sideways at her.
"You and your weird habits again," he muttered, eyes narrowing. "I've never seen this expression on your face, Veyra. Sure, the guy looks a bit unique, but in the end, you break all of them in a day or two."
Veyra didn't answer immediately. Her gaze was locked on Alex like a starving predator eyeing prey it couldn't explain. Then, she whispered:
"No… my instincts as a woman tell me this is the one. The one who is meant to be mine."
Veyron's eye twitched. A dull headache throbbed behind his brow.
'Here we go again…' he sighed. "Okay, okay. But the toy you're asking for seems expensive. Looks like we'll have to beat it into submission first. Are you ready for that?"
Veyra's grin widened unnaturally. Her teeth gleamed with madness.
"Of course~" she sang softly. "But don't hit his face. It seems he doesn't like that."
Then—
BOOM.
A tidal wave of black aura erupted from the Wraith twins. The air cracked. The forest shuddered. The earth trembled beneath their feet.
Sephira and James—already frozen in horror—were slammed into the ground, faces crashing into dirt and stone, coughing blood. Their limbs twitched uncontrollably as if their very bones were splintering beneath an invisible weight.
Their bodies screamed under the oppressive force.
But the target of that monstrous pressure…
Didn't even look at them.
Alex remained utterly still.
Unbothered. Unshaken.
As if their existence wasn't even worth the flick of a glance.
More terrifying still—
Their aura didn't affect Alden. Or Charlotte. Or Seraphina. Or Ava. Or Draven. Or even Ethan.
All lay unconscious or barely conscious.
But untouched.
As if something was shielding them—something dark, something corrupted. A will. A domain.
Veyron's smirk cracked.
Veyra blinked in disbelief.
'This… isn't right.'
Meanwhile, Alex stood silently, his gaze sweeping the field like a divine judge weighing mortal sin.
His eyes—galaxies swirling within them—settled on his friends.
Charlotte.
Seraphina.
Draven.
Ethan.
And then Ava.
His gaze darkened the moment it landed on her broken body.
And in that moment—
He snapped.
Something inside him shattered.
An infernal rage unlike any he'd known surged within him.
Not wild and unhinged.
But calculated.
Cold.
The world stilled once more as a translucent screen materialized in front of him:
---
[Trait Unlocked: Abyssborne Sovereignty]
"He who embraced the Abyss… shall now walk the line between ruling it—or erasing it from existence.
The path is yours to carve.
It is your will that defines the end."
Having fully adapted to the most vile corruption known to existence, you are no longer a victim of the Abyss.
Your body, mind, and soul have evolved beyond its reach.
The corruption that once sought to consume you… now bows before you.
---
Alex didn't even bother reading it.
He flicked it aside with two fingers.
His perception expanded instantly.
Within seconds, he had mapped the entire forest—every heartbeat, every breath, every motion within kilometers.
His eyes turned again to Ava.
Still.
Broken.
And then—
His voice dropped.
Low.
Cold.
Lethal.
"Your time's up for answering my question."
He turned toward the Wraiths, but his voice echoed like a divine decree.
"And from everything I've seen and heard from my system, it seems you insect-like bastards take joy in misery… and carnage."
He stepped forward, slowly.
"So let me show you what real misery and carnage look like—something you've never witnessed in your lives."
Then—
BOOM.
A new aura—dark and corrupted—surged from his body.
Something deeper than divine.
Darker than corrupted.
It didn't counter Veyron and Veyra's aura—
It devoured it.
Their pressure vanished instantly, like candles snuffed out in a hurricane.
Suddenly, both gasped for air—Veyra staggering, Veyron grabbing his chest.
Their confident smirks twisted into masks of panic.
"What the—"
Veyron choked.
"This can't be what's happening—"
Veyra whimpered.
Then—
A blur.
Less than a second.
He was standing right in front of Sephira and James.
James's jaw dropped.
Sephira's mouth hung open, horror blooming in her eyes as Alex—expression blank, almost… playful—raised a hand.
A flick.
SHLICK!
Her left eye was gone.
Torn from her skull, a bloody ruin left behind.
Then the agony hit.
Her scream pierced the heavens.
Raw. Broken. Animalistic.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Alex grabbed her by the hair before she collapsed, and with an inhuman yank, dragged her like garbage across the ground.
Blood followed.
Dirt embedded into her shredded scalp.
Then—
With a savage pull—
A chunk of her scalp tore free.
Hair. Flesh. Blood. All gripped tightly in Alex's fingers.
Sephira howled, her voice cracking.
Desperate, she reached into her core—summoning flame, her body erupting in fire—
But the moment the fire touched Alex's skin…
It burned—
Then vanished.
His body shimmered, healed instantly—adapting as if her flames weren't even worth acknowledging.
She stared at him, lips trembling.
Then Alex leaned in, voice soft.
Playful.
Mocking.
"What? Why are you crying now?"
He tilted his head.
"I thought you liked this kind of play. You should be enjoying it. After all, you did the same to my friends."
Her body quaked. And then—
A dark stain spread down her thigh.
She had pissed herself.
"No—no no no—" she sobbed. "Release me! Please—! PLEASE!"
Her remaining eye locked onto his—
And what she saw inside them wasn't rage.
It was something far worse.
An abyss without bottom.
Alex gave her one last look.
And with a brutal twist—
CRACK!
Her other arm ripped free from the socket.
Blood sprayed like a fountain.
She collapsed—armless, bloodied, half-scalped.
Alex stared at her.
Then laughed.
A deep, amused laugh—like a child discovering a new game.
"You know what?"
He grinned darkly.
"Now I understand why insects like you guys enjoy this."
He leaned down, patting her trembling head.
"It's really fun."
And with that, he hurled her limp body through the air.
THUD!
She landed at the feet of Charlotte and Seraphina.
The girls blinked in disbelief.
Was that the same woman who almost killed them moments ago, but chose not to—because she enjoyed torturing them?
Hairless.
Armless.
Half-dead.
Seraphina covered her mouth.
Charlotte couldn't look away.
'He… did that… in seconds…'
Alex didn't stop.
He looked down at the wreck that was Sephira and said in a cold whisper:
"I'll come back to you."
He turned.
"Lie there silently, like a good girl."
A pause.
"More of the misery you love is coming."
It had all happened in mere seconds.
Before anyone could react.
Before James could breathe.
Before Veyra or Veyron could even understand what had just happened.
And now—
Alex turned toward James.
Alex narrowed his eyes and whispered coldly,
"It was you… wasn't it?"
At that moment, James felt his soul nearly leave his body.
Suddenly, a voice echoed in Alex's mind.
[ Host this dimension was created by a Grandmaster-rank individual.
