Episode 0. A Story Not So Long Ago

Let’s start with a story from not so long ago.

It was a cold winter day, and I was on my way to a meeting with a friend.

Having set off at an unusually early hour that day, I ducked into an old, ramshackle used bookstore to get out of the cold for a while.

I wasn’t really looking to buy a book.

I was just going out for an appointment, and buying a book would be a hassle. Plus, all the books were old and worn out.

I was just passing the time, sheltering from the cold winter breeze.

Among the old books, a book that looked like a new book stood out.

I was surprised to find a used bookstore that had the entire series in stock. Before I knew it, I had arrived at my appointment with the entire series in hand.

My friend suddenly asked me what the book was, and I was stumped, looking at a novel I had never heard of called The Sage of the Winter Wood.

The day was cold, the book was heavy, and my wallet was missing 200,000 won.
