The Exiled Necromancer Wants To Create a Bone Dragon

chapter 30

30 – Monster Hunter.

Two days later, a paladin to replace Areviju arrived at the Church of Truth, and Ed, Glowwin, and Arebijou headed further south. Taking the train down and walking, the three of them arrived at Les Sand, the southernmost point of the continent, in fact, with no village further down.

“It’s very hot…”

Glowyn briefly turned off the temperature control magic tool Ed had bought for her, and a drop of sweat flowed down her face.

“I don’t even want to imagine armor that hasn’t been magically treated.”

Since the paladin armor Arrebijou was wearing was made of metal, it would be difficult to wear unless the function of temperature control was engraved.

“I have to say that there is no cold magic…”

It was for temperature control, but the mana management was fine, but Ed was a little embarrassed by the heat, where the ice needle or ice sword magic would not work properly. The things that can be used are curses, summoning arts, and magic arts. Thinking that it would be enough to use just that, the three of them first found accommodation in Les Sands.

We rented two rooms for one month, with Gloween and Arebiju sharing one room and Ed using the other. I thought the price of the Lessand Inn was a bit expensive, perhaps because magic tools were installed inside to maintain the temperature. If Ed earns a lot, he agrees to pay for the room for the two, and the three of them go back outside to get to know Lessand.

“There are many hunter guilds.”

“I rarely go hunting monsters alone in the south because of the terrain and the likelihood of accidents. If I run out of mana and cannot control my body temperature, it will be difficult to return.”

To Growin’s words, Arebijou added the knowledge he knew. Arrebizou did not live in Les Sand, the southernmost point, but he had more knowledge about the South than the two of them, as he had lived on the Lake Coast.

The knowledge that Ed had seen in the book was only about monsters, but there was little information about the weather in the south, and when he actually felt the weather, it seemed that hunting monsters would not be easy.

“So Ed, are you thinking of joining the Hunter Guild?”

“I’m thinking of going alone. If I can’t go out alone, I’ll have to get help from Mr. Arebijou.”

Ed answered Glowin’s question. If you go outside and hunt monsters anyway, it will be the Necromancer’s turn after that person. Even monsters that were new to them could easily be moved, so there was no need for a transport team carrying the corpses of monsters from far away.

I think I just need to find a place where I can process monster corpses, but there are more monster dismantling centers than hunter guilds, so I think I should sign a contract with a good place,” he said to Edgar Glowwin.

“I’m thinking of looking around the neighborhood now, but why don’t you go out today, Mr. Glowin?”

“Unlike Glodia, she has almost no fighting skills. Will Ed protect you?”

“Yes. Mr. Arebijou is with you, so it should be fine. Let’s go.”

There was a paladin who specialized in protecting them, so I thought it would be okay, and the three passed Lesand’s barrier. When passing through the barrier, he was carrying the corpse of a huge monster next to him, which was a desert lizard running on two legs. Since the size of the Desert King Lizard was said to be 3 times that size, I could calculate that it was bigger than the ogre I hunted last time.

“What the hell is there at the southern end and the northern end…”

“I’m curious.”

Maybe it’s because it didn’t rain, so I stepped on the hard ground and went down a little and saw the Desert Lizard. Unlike the dead guy, his eyes were full of life, and when he saw his prey, he screamed and ran.

“Kurrureuk!!!”

-Pak! Pop! Pop! Pop!

The Desert Lizard, running through the dry land, opened its mouth wide and threatened Ed’s party. Arrebijou tried to step forward without realizing it, but Ed reached out and blocked it.

“Mr. Arebijou, I will deal with you.”

“Ed, I can’t use cold magic. Is it okay?”

Arrebijou, who had been affected by three of Ed’s specialties, including magic arts, curses, and cold magic, asked slightly worried. Ed held a necromancer license and opened subspace.

“I felt it in the north, but I think it’s really good that skeletons can be used regardless of the weather.”

Three skeletons wearing swords, shields, basic equipment, and light armor walked out of subspace and formed a formation.

The Desert Lizard wondered whether to take a detour when he saw a bone holding a weapon that suddenly appeared in the subspace, but he crouched down and rushed, thinking that he could hit it with his body.

Ed moved forward with the skeleton. The skeleton standing in front lowered his stance to stab his head with his shield tightly gripped, while the skeleton walking to the side bent slightly to aim for his well-developed legs to block movement.

-Pak!! Pak!! Pak!!

The Desert Lizard tightened its legs and ran faster as the enemy approached. It was strange to see the bones in front of my eyes move, but I spurred on the ground and ran to completely break the leftover bones with my body anyway. And the moment he tried to hit the bone mass that was blocking him, he felt an abnormality in his leg and fell to the floor as if sliding.

“The curse works well.”

Upon hearing that, the Desert Lizard had three swords stuck in its head.

*

The Great Wall to the south of Les Sand is a place where you always need to sharpen your blades in preparation for an invasion of monsters, but it has been lax. First of all, it was rare for normal monsters to fly near the barrier. Since the monsters near the barrier are subdued by the hunters right away, I just stood guard at the watchtower to prepare for the large monsters that came from time to time. However, since such a dangerous guy could be seen even without looking from the watchtower, the meaning was slightly faded.

The watchtower guarded the watchtower every week, the hunter guild took turns sending someone to stand guard. Rather, it was a safe earning without a hit, so novice hunters applied and saved money to buy the necessary tools.

Marley, a novice hunter, had already been on guard duty for three days, so his work attitude was a bit relaxed. Anyway, all I could see in front of me was the desert, and it wasn’t a time when there weren’t that many people around, so I spent the time leaning back and forward, walking around the watchtower, sitting down, and getting up.

While I was spending time like that, I could see three people approaching the barrier with the Desert Lizard in front of me. Marley rubbed her eyes and lifted up the telescope, wondering if she had seen something wrong.

There was a silver-haired man in the lead, followed by a woman with purple hair and a woman with brown hair. Of the three, two were not armed, but I wondered if the brown-haired woman wearing armor had killed the monster.

‘No. The Desert Lizard is walking with me?’

Marley raised her telescope slightly to see the Desert Lizard following her. It was about the same size as a woman’s, medium-sized, with reddish hair and cloudy eyes. However, it walked so calmly that it couldn’t be called a Desert Lizard, and it looked like it was raised by the three people walking in front of it.

‘Is that possible?’

Desert Lizard is a very aggressive monster. I’ve heard that attempts to tame them by raising them first have failed several times. Mali, a novice hunter, decided to borrow the strength of her senior rather than thinking. I immediately climbed down the ladder of the watchtower and headed for the guard post below.

“Seniors!”

“Uh. Um. What is it?”

The guild’s senior hunter, who was inside the guard post, quickly stood up at Marley’s call.

“Someone is coming with a monster. What should I do?”

“It’s coming with a monster? What is it?”

The senior hunter stood up and looked into the distance. A senior hunter saw a strange image visible through a window that was clouded with sand and dust, so he came out of the guard post and checked it with the naked eye.

“Desert Lizard follows people?”

It was seen coming out of the watchtower and the watchtower next to it, as if something similar had happened. Marley, two senior hunters, and two people from the opposite post gathered in the center of the barrier and stared blankly at the sight of four people walking with the Desert Lizard.

When they came to a distance where they could see the purple-haired woman waving lightly at them, they knew the Desert Lizard was strange.

“There’s a knife mark left on your head? It looks like your brain was properly pierced.”

“But that thing is walking. What is it?”

When the relatively experienced senior hunters were perplexed by that bizarre situation, the novice hunter Mali spit out what came to mind when she saw the silver-haired man standing in the front.

“Necromancer.”

“Is that a zombie?”

“The one with the blurry eyes might be a real zombie… But more than that, why is there a necromancer in Lessand?”

All the guards on the wall gathered in front of the door, keeping a lookout for the necromancer. Seeing this, other hunters and dismantling workers gathered and the entrance was blocked by people.

“It seems like you noticed that this was strange.”

Since Ed had a lot of people gathered, he didn’t have to answer the question ‘Why are necromancers in the south?’ Ed found in his pocket the proof of guardianship of the saintess and the necromancer license, took them out, arrived at Lesand’s barrier, and spoke first.

“I am a Necromancer. I have Saint Mary Setin Quasar of the Church of Truth as my guardian, so check it out if you want to check it out.”

A man who appeared to be a guard cautiously approached Ed. Seeing the badge of the Church of Truth and the necromancer license shining softly after Ed had injected mana, the guard nodded slightly and asked a question on behalf of the people gathered.

“So why is the Necromancer in Les Sand?”

“That’s right. I came to subdue the monsters as if you were here.”
