Chapter 25 We are really destined
The heavy gold coin hit Jun Waner’s face, causing her to scream as she covered it with her hand. Her eyes turned red with anger as she looked around, but Jun Jiu had already disappeared from her sight. Jun Waner jumped in anger.
She then glanced suspiciously at Jun Lei and asked, “Miss Wan doesn’t know gold?”
Jun Lei remained silent, and Jun Waner wanted to scold him in frustration. That cunning girl had clearly done it on purpose! She hadn’t expected to be humiliated and slapped in the face instead.
Her pretty face twisted with mixed emotions, but Jun Waner forced a smile on her lips. “Master Jun Lei, let’s proceed to the stone appreciation party. She’s just a lowly girl, inconsequential.”
Jun Lei agreed with an air of arrogance, and they headed to the Stone Appreciation Club together. Meanwhile, the stewards and guards were left to pick up the gold coins scattered on the ground. The steward took advantage of his position to pocket some of the gold.
As for Jun Jiu, she walked into the Stone Appreciation Club, holding Xiao Wu in her arms. Xiao Wu playfully exposed its belly and expressed its discontent. “Master, you did great! It’s a shame I couldn’t witness that wicked woman’s reaction.”
Jun Jiu nodded in agreement. Jun Waner hadn’t recognized her, treating her like an ordinary person. She couldn’t help but wonder what Jun Waner’s reaction would be when she eventually realized who she was. The anticipation brought a smile to her face.
Holding Xiao Wu, Jun Jiu scanned the magnificent courtyard filled with unique rocks and stones. People in exquisite attire of high status strolled around, stopping in front of stones to comment and discuss.
The Stone Appreciation Club aimed to sell various rough stones that hadn’t been mined yet. The prices of these rough stones varied, and while they were not cheap, whether they contained spirit stones remained uncertain. It was akin to the stone gambling Jun Jiu had participated in during her previous life—a game of luck.
Jun Jiu’s lips curled up slightly. When it came to stone gambling, she had never lost.
Xiao Wu, with its cat-like eyes, followed Jun Jiu’s gaze and inquired, “Master, which spirit stone are you interested in?”
Just then, a warm voice called out, “Miss Jun!”
Simultaneously, Yun Qiao, with a friendly smile, hurriedly approached Jun Jiu.
Yun Qiao stood before Jun Jiu, cleared his throat, and composed himself. “Miss Jun, I didn’t expect to meet you here. It seems we are destined to cross paths.”
Jun Jiu gave a simple acknowledgment with a nod. Destiny? She didn’t believe in it; she considered it a coincidence.
Yun Qiao continued, “Miss Jun, are you here to gamble on stones as well? I happen to know a bit about stone gambling. Would you like me to provide some guidance?”
Jun Jiu agreed, and Yun Qiao proceeded to share his knowledge about the Stone Appreciation Club, covering its history, selecting rough stones, and the process of stone gambling. He spoke at a steady pace, his warm voice soothing to the ears.
“Those are the basics of the stone appreciation party. If Miss Jun has any more questions, feel free to ask me.” Yun Qiao smiled warmly and looked deeply into Jun Jiu’s eyes.
Yun Qiao was now relieved that he had stayed behind to attend the stone appreciation event. Otherwise, he would have missed encountering Jun Jiu.
As Yun Qiao was about to say more, a sharp and furious voice interrupted him from behind. “You wretched girl, so you’re here!”
