Chapter 1: The Entity of Contradictions
Daily life
I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, feeling sleepy in discomfort and exhausted. "Ahh, another day another ... more useless work to do" A defeated groan escaped my lips. Not wanting to know about the mountain of paperwork in store I decided to get out of bed. Muttering to myself that at least there is breakfast before hell begins again. I quickly tossed together eggs on easy and a cup of coffee.
After sitting at the table I calmly took out my phone and checked my investments. I did not particularly care about the growth of my portfolio I checked. "Not bad" I muttered, 190k was sitting pretty in my investment account. As per my calculations, the portfolio's growth averaged out to be 7.4%. Feeling better about the day with some good news in the morning and with the notification of 7k being transferred to my investment account I chuckled.
Proceeding to invest 6k back into my portfolio and saving the other 1k I got up and did the dishes. However, I should have known, that today was about to go wrong. I got dressed and left for work. On the way to the office, I suddenly had a bad feeling, something unexplainable instinctual even. Alarms started blaring in my head, hurriedly I gunned my accelerator towards my office.
Honestly, I would be lying if I said I wasn't surprised but what I saw was out of this world. Seconds after I decided to rush to my office the world stopped. Not metaphorically but literally, for some reason unbeknown to me I saw everything freeze. Slowly I looked about seeing the morning fog frozen in mid-air. Trying to press the accelerator I realised that it would not budge, stepping a few more times in futile I decided to forego my precious car [for context this car was worth very little, the main character is just very cheap and considers his beat-up Vios extremely precious as he got it for a steal]. Slowly getting out of the car I looked around and saw other cars frozen, people were unresponsive as I waved my hand in their faces and even poked them in their seats.
Feeling something was extremely wrong I turned back and the thing I saw will always remain in my mind. No matter how much time passed I will never be able to forget her face. Ahead of me about twenty metres away was an entity, something incomprehensible yet beautiful. Unknowingly I instinctively spoke aloud "my love". The creature lovingly smiled at me and appeared in front of me and lovingly hugged me. I was so shocked by what happened that I remained frozen.
My mind glazed blank, thoughts that weren't 'mine' were through my head and stuck to my memory. Feeling an overwhelming pain from somewhere I began to writhe in pain, tears of blood trickled down my eyes and nose. Overwhelmed by intense pain I started shaking, my mind only registering the pain as if burning knives were slowly being driven into my body and slowly twisting. As if a conductor from hell began directing a musical a loud, shrill, despair-filled scream escaped my throat. Sounds humans can't make escaped Marco's throat. Akin to a performance of sadistic demons playing with humans, a diabolical scene started occurring.
Hearing the screams of agony the entity quickly let go of me and scanned me. Its eyes froze on my stuck lifeless face, opening its eyes in shock it quickly tried to bring me away to treat me but failed. Narrowing its eyes, it contemplated moving me, as if I was bedrock I remained in place. It tried to move me first a mysterious power covered its hands and shot towards me but somehow my body gobbled up the energy. Next, she tried to pry me from my position but my feet wouldn't budge. Not even my body moved. Frustrated it screamed in a feminine voice "Darling, what's happening to you?" while pushing and pulling my body destroying the ground beneath her feet.
In a trance between unconsciousness and honestly a comfortable sensation I heard a muffled voice. Something about a "darling"? Being single throughout my 25 years of life I was confused, thinking that it was probably just my imagination I started drifting off toward the comfortable darkness.
As I drifted to sleep, I felt a cold touch on my body, it was an icy touch yet felt so warm akin to the sensation of one going home after years of fighting a war. I surrendered to that kind embrace slowly melding into the darkness.
