The Enigmatic Omega Male

Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Racing Competition

Champ's POV 👑

"Why do you smell like lavender? Tell me." Deux's voice was laced with curiosity as he tightened his grip on my wrist. "From your physique, you look like an Alpha. But your scent... it smells like an Omega." His whisper sent a chill down my spine.

I can't let him figure it out!

Why can't I smell myself, yet he can?

Kaia smelled it on me too...

Think, Champ! Think! What excuse can I use?

My eyes darted around for an answer—anything that could save me from this mess. Then, I saw it.

The ring.

The one my Omega mother gave to me. A gift from my Alpha father.

Yes! That's it!

"Maybe you're smelling my Omega mom's ring," I replied, keeping my voice steady. Confidence. I needed to sound like the Alpha I claimed to be.

Deux narrowed his eyes at me, suspicion flickering across his face. "Why are you still wearing this?" he muttered before pulling my hand closer.

(Sniff!)

He inhaled deeply, his gaze locked on the ring. Silence. Then, without another word, he let go of my wrist.

Finally!

I wanted to throw a cocky remark his way. But for some reason, I swallowed my words.

Why?

I used to be able to stand my ground against anyone. But now, in front of Deux, I struggled to even breathe.

Was it my Omega genes surfacing? Making me feel... intimidated?

Or was it just Deux? His aura as an Alpha—overwhelming, suffocating. Is this what a real Alpha was supposed to feel like?

Seconds passed before Deux leaned in, his breath ghosting over my right ear.

"Watch your back, Alpha... if that's what you really are." His voice was dangerously low. Then, with a firm pat on my arm, he walked away, his five Beta lackeys following closely behind.

I exhaled. I didn't even realize I had been holding my breath.

What the hell just happened?

"Watch my back?" My brows furrowed as I turned instinctively, glancing behind me—

And my eyes went wide in horror.

Did he mean... my ass?

That bastard!

"Champ!" Jiggs rushed over, his face filled with concern. "What did Deux say to you?"

"Nothing," I muttered, shaking my head. We started walking out of the cafeteria.

"I thought you were going to stand your ground!" Jiggs huffed. "We can't afford to get on their bad side right now! It's just the two of us! That's why we need to form our own clan, Champ. There are too many Alpha leaders circling around like sharks, especially here in the university."

"We won't let them trample us," I said firmly, meeting his gaze just as we reached the cafeteria doors.

Before we could step out, three Beta males stood frozen in our path.

Beta males I used to bully.

Their faces paled, their knees shaking as they recognized me.

"C-Champ! W-we didn't see you there!"

"M-Master Alpha Champ!"

I lifted my hands slightly, and the three flinched as if expecting a hit.

Instead, I patted one of them lightly on both shoulders.

"You guys heading inside? Eat well, okay?" I said casually, fishing something out of my pocket. "Oh, and don't forget to use hand sanitizer. We wouldn't want anyone getting sick." I slipped a bottle into the chest pocket of the one standing in front.

The three just stared at me, baffled.

Jiggs, beside me, looked equally confused.

"What? Something wrong?" I asked.

"N-No, Master Alpha Champ! We—we're heading in now!" One of them stammered before the three practically bolted into the cafeteria.

"Don't run! You might slip!" I called after them, frowning in concern.

Silence.

Then, I turned to Jiggs, who was now staring at me like I had grown a second head.

"You good, Jiggs?"

"Champ... I should be asking you that. What the hell is up with you today?" His eyes narrowed in suspicion. "If I didn't know you, and I just saw you acting like that—I'd swear you were an Omega. If Omegas could even be male."

I forced a laugh. "Me? An Omega? You're dreaming, Jiggs! You know that's impossible! Omegas are always female."

"Yeah, true. And with the way you look, there's no way you'd be an Omega."

"Exactly!" I grinned, patting his shoulder. "How else are we supposed to form an Alpha clan if I'm an Omega? We'd just be a joke!"

A joke.

The irony almost made me laugh out loud.

Glancing at my watch, I realized our first class was about to start—P.E.

One of my favorite subjects. A chance to showcase strength, agility, dominance.

Even if I am an Omega now... I wouldn't let anyone surpass me.

I would prove, no matter what, that I am still strong.

As we stood on the open field, listening to our trainer's instructions, Jiggs leaned in close to whisper.

"You're really different now that you're a full-fledged Alpha. The Omega females behind you are practically intoxicated by your scent."

I turned my head slightly and, sure enough, five Omega females were standing behind me—Kaia included—all sniffing the air as if drawn to me by some invisible force.

"Hey! Stop smelling me!" I hissed at them.

"We've never smelled this scent on an Alpha before, Champ. It's... addicting," Kaia whispered back.

"Tsk! Back off! Go, shoo!" I waved them away, trying to create some distance between myself and the overly curious Omega females.

Four of them finally took the hint and left, but Kaia remained.

"I can't help it, Champ. Your scent... it's unique for an Alpha. It smells like lavender flowers. That's what I'm getting." Her voice was filled with intrigue. "I didn't even know Alphas could have a scent like that."

And with that, she finally walked away.

Lavender...

So it's true.

Deux smelled it. Kaia smelled it.

That means this is my scent.

Before I could process that thought further, our instructor's voice pulled me back to reality.

"Alright! Today's lesson will be a physical activity. We're having a racing competition—and the winner will receive a special prize, which I'll reveal later," he announced, a playful grin on his face.

A competition, huh? Now this is something that I like!

"But before anything else, I want you all to know that this time, the competition will be a bit more... interactive," the instructor continued, his smirk deepening.

What kind of twist is he planning now?

"I know not everyone here is physically inclined, so I will be selecting five participants to compete in the race," he added.

I glanced around at my classmates, then without hesitation, I raised my hand before anyone else could.

"I'll participate," I declared confidently, standing tall.

"That's my Alpha leader!" Jiggs beamed, raising his hand as well. "If you're in, I'm in!"

"Great! We need three more participants..." the instructor said.

🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬

Once we had our five competitors, the instructor began explaining the race mechanics.

"To make today's P.E. class even more exciting, this won't be just a race between the five of you." His eyes gleamed with anticipation.

That was when I smelled it.

A scent.

A very familiar one.

Vanilla.

No way...

"Your opponents will be five participants from the other class for this interactive P.E. class," the instructor revealed with a grin.

Everyone turned their heads to the right as another group approached the field. Their instructor led the way, but that wasn't who caught my attention.

My chest tightened.

My instincts screamed.

Because I knew that scent.

And there he was—Deux.

The Alpha whose intoxicating vanilla scent was impossible to ignore.

He was the first thing you noticed in the group, standing at the front with his usual domineering presence. His aura alone made him stand out, a commanding force that overshadowed even the Betas following behind him—five towering figures who looked just as intimidating.

"No way... Don't tell me Deux is our opponent? We're screwed," Jiggs muttered under his breath.

"Don't be scared, Jiggs," I whispered back. "We're not losing to them."

As Deux's group finally reached us, he locked eyes with me.

The way he looked at me... it wasn't just a challenge. It was a threat.

A warning.

Like a predator ready to pounce.

I straightened up, refusing to flinch. I wouldn't let him get the upper hand.

I couldn't let him see through me.

"They're here," our instructor confirmed. "Now, all ten participants, please step forward to the starting line so we can set up the race and begin."

🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬

Jiggs and I made our way to the starting point, and though I could feel Deux's gaze on me, I refused to look his way.

The less interaction, the better.

As we reached our positions, stretching and warming up, someone bumped into me—hard.

I didn't need to look to know who it was.

Deux.

I shot him a glare, but he remained composed, his expression unreadable. I exhaled sharply, turning my attention back to the track.

"See that finish line?" I said, keeping my voice steady. "I'll be the first one to cross it. I'm winning this."

Deux chuckled, the sound low and mocking. "We'll see just how much a rookie Alpha like you can handle."

"Just don't cry when you lose."

As the tension between us crackled, I noticed something out of the corner of my eye—Jiggs was shaking.

He was pale, gripping my arm like his life depended on it.

I quickly realized why.

Standing right next to him were Deux's five Beta lackeys, towering over him, their smirks dripping with intimidation.

"C-Champ..." Jiggs whispered, his voice barely audible. "Can I... back out? I think I'm gonna be sick!"

"Get it together, Jiggs!" I hissed. "If you show fear, they'll walk all over us! Do you want them to think we're weak?"

Jiggs gulped but said nothing.

I turned my gaze to the Beta males. They were enjoying this—taunting, smirking, reveling in Jiggs's fear.

I wasn't having it.

I stepped forward, standing between them and Jiggs, my expression unwavering.

"Is there a problem here?" My voice was firm, my stance unwavering. "If you think you can just push my friend around, you're mistaken."

The Betas exchanged glances before one of them sneered. "Look at this. The new Alpha thinks he's got a spine."

"Deux, just say the word," another Beta taunted. "We'll crush this newbie and his pathetic excuse of a Beta sidekick."

Deux remained silent for a moment before stepping forward.

"I want to see what the rookie Alpha is capable of," he mused, a smirk playing on his lips. "Let's see if he can actually win this race. You all know me—I fight fair."

His words were enough to make his Betas back off, returning to their positions.

With the tension easing, I let out a slow breath before returning to my own stance—right beside Deux.

"I'll make sure I win," I told him.

Deux leaned in slightly. "And if I win... you'll obey me."

I froze.

"What?"

"You heard me," he said smoothly. "If I win, you'll follow my every command."

I swallowed hard but refused to let him see any hint of hesitation.

"You're insane," I scoffed. "I'm an Alpha. Why the hell would I follow you?"

Deux chuckled. "You still don't understand how things work, do you, rookie?"

I narrowed my eyes. "What are you talking about?"

"Tell me," he said, tilting his head slightly. "Why do Alphas fight for territory?"

"To expand their dominance and leadership," I answered without hesitation. "I know that much."

Deux smirked. "Exactly. And if I win this race, you become part of my territory. You'll answer to me."

I went still.

The weight of his words sank in.

If I lost...

Would I even be able to break free?

No.

I can not lose.

I will not lose.

I took a deep breath, straightened my posture, and met his gaze.

"If I win, you stay away from me. You stop bothering us, and you never come near me again."

Deux's smirk widened.

"Deal," he said. "But if I win... you belong to me and will become my property."

Was this a mistake?

I didn't know.

But I am not backing down.

I am going to win! Even if it means competing with the Alpha King's son!
