Chapter 461: Chapter 460: Isn’t This a Job for My Girlfriend? (8)
"Sui, if you ever have a fight with Ms. Erina and she stops doing your laundry, I can take care of it for you," Ryoko said with a smile, tucking her hair behind her ear.
"Huh? You want to help me with my laundry?" Sui gave her a puzzled look.
"Ryoko, is this a confession?" Yoshino asked in surprise, before patting her on the shoulder. "I'm counting on you!"
Ryoko blushed and shot her a reproachful glance. "No, it's not like that."
Standing with her hands behind her back, she revealed her shapely figure. "I just wanted to thank Sui for the butterfly he gave me last time. I really liked it! So if there's any hard work, like laundry, dishes, or shopping, just let me know."
"Tsk, isn't that more of a girlfriend's job?" Yoshino couldn't help but chuckle. "I didn't expect Ryoko would 'sell' herself to Sui over a butterfly."
"Haha, this goes beyond a girlfriend; she's practically offering to be a personal nanny," Sōma teased, joining the laughter.
Ryoko's ears turned bright red as she glared at them coldly.
"Well, it seems like I'm getting a pretty good deal here," Sui said with a smile. It was just a butterfly, and now he had himself a personal helper.
Of course, even though he said that, he didn't actually plan to ask Ryoko to do any chores. He still appreciated the gesture.
"In that case, I'd better express my gratitude too. If you ever need any help, don't hesitate to call me," Yoshino said as she gave Sui a friendly pat on the shoulder.
"Well, are you offering to be my personal babysitter as well?" Sui asked playfully, an amused grin on his face. "Does this mean you're open to any kind of task?"
"Uh-huh," Yoshino nodded confidently. "Except I won't be washing your underwear—ask Ryoko for that."
Ryoko stuck out her tongue, laughing. "I won't do it either. Maybe let Megumi handle that."
Standing nearby, Megumi blushed and stole a shy glance at Sui.
"Well then, here's your first task." Sui took off his jacket and handed it to Yoshino with a teasing smile.
To his surprise, Yoshino accepted it without hesitation. "I'll have it clean and dry by tomorrow," she said.
Sui blinked in surprise, not expecting her to take the offer seriously.
"Hey, Sui, do you have anything else that needs washing?" Ryoko asked eagerly, clearly wanting to pitch in too.
"I can help you too, Sui," Megumi added timidly.
Looking at the two girls, Sui didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "I'm not wearing much right now. Do you expect me to strip and give you my shirt and pants?"
Both girls blushed furiously.
After class, Sui returned to Erina's house and immediately went to the kitchen to retrieve his latest reward.
Before him, a large machete appeared—part of the Collectors Knives set. Although it wasn't as large as Nichirin, it was still much bigger than most kitchen knives. Like these other knives, this one also has a name. Lostvayne.
"Hm, this Collectors Knife must be meant for handling mid-sized ingredients. It should be great for chopping bones," Sui mused, satisfied. This was the sixth Collectors Knives he had collected; only one more to complete the entire set.
As a collector, he was determined to get them all.
Next, there were the food gift packs.
"The host opens the gourmet gift pack and obtains: Grade A ingredients – mineral earthworms and marshmallow pumpkins."
"Mineral earthworms? What are these?" Sui was taken aback.
Earthworms aren't usually considered food, right? And they certainly don't seem like ingredients.
A small, milky-white earthworm, about 15 centimeters long, appeared in front of him. Unlike normal earthworms, which are slimy and smell unpleasant, this one was clean and odorless.
Sui opened the ingredient description.
Mineral Earthworms
- Food Grade: A
- Description: A unique earthworm composed of 99% water, able to survive by absorbing water. Its special metabolic system can purify pollutants in the water it consumes. The purified water, drawn from several mineral earthworms, is a high-quality drink. In addition, fields where mineral earthworms thrive become fertile and rich in water, earning them the nickname "Little Rules of the Garden."
- Origin: Toriko
"I see. So it not only purifies water, but also makes the soil more suitable for farming?" Sui's eyes lit up.
As for pure water, he previously obtained the Holy Spring of the Elves, but after hearing from Tohru that the Elven Saintess often bathed in it... well, the idea of drinking the bathwater of a Saintess was a bit unsettling.
Even though the Saintess was certainly beautiful, the thought made the water feel a bit strange to drink. And fetching it was always dangerous, so Tohru rarely brought back enough for daily use.
But with these mineral earthworms, Sui, Erina, and the others would have access to high-quality drinking water for daily use, including for cooking, bathing, and laundry.
He was also excited about the potential to improve the fields.
Even though Sui had many rare ingredients, most of them were meat, and he lacked good quality vegetables.
With the mineral earthworms, he could ensure a regular supply of high-quality vegetables in the future.
After examining the earthworms, Sui moved on to the marshmallow pumpkins.
The pumpkins were small, only about 10 centimeters in size.
Marshmallow Pumpkin
- Food Grade: A
- Description: Though smaller than regular pumpkins, they are sweeter than cotton candy due to their concentrated sugars. The flesh is soft and elastic, resembling cotton candy. Even when eaten raw, the taste rivals that of gourmet pumpkin desserts found in high-end bakeries.
- Origin: Toriko
"Fantastic ingredients," Sui thought with delight.
Just then, Erina walked into the kitchen and, noticing Sui, burst into laughter.
"Sui, where's your coat again?"
