The Diary Of A Queer Warlock

Chapter 17: The Chromata Experience

Book Title: The Diary Of A Queer Warlock Chapter 17

"I…I…Um" Adrian was terror struck to the point where he forgot how to coordinate his speech.

"Speak!!" Aldos barked heavily as he was beginning to lose his patience with Adrian's silliness.

In the depths of his eyes, the heat that was kindled was enough to burn Adrian in body and soul.

"I don't think I owe you any explanation sir" Adrian responded out of instinct without setting his tone right.

Shortly after his speech, he was gagged beyond words at the fact that he had miscalculated his response. Eventually, the result of it was fully expected by Adrian.

"You don't want your life anymore, do you?" Aldos sneered and reached out for Adrian from above.

His hands released a strong pulling force condensed from mental energy that thrust into Adrian's body.

For a split second, Adrian felt like a thousand signals had collided with themselves at once within him. It was so painful but he could not scream as well. Such a tragic event made him realize that he should reinforce the will to control his reflexes and speak calculatedly.

"Make it stop" Adrian begged as he whined back and forth from the psychotic vibrations made by Aldos.

Aldos smirked coldly. Rather than reducing the frequency, he pitched it even further making Adrian's mumblings to become distorted noises.

Unfortunately, though Adrian already had the heart of magic and a halo, as long as he didn't have runic resonance, he would be powerless against stronger magical entities like Aldos.

Adrian's brain impulses became slow and disorganized due to the constant psychotic vibrations that made him feel like he was caught up in a fiercely spinning tornado. His mind was disintegrating into atomic levels, he was already lucky enough to have not collapsed at this point.

Or maybe it wasn't luck and it was just Aldos' adept manipulation that made him suffer while surviving.

"Make…it…stop" Adrian weakly muttered after five minutes of blasts from the vibrations and at this point his mind briefly shut down.

It appeared shut down but Adrian could still sense his consciousness so it wasn't like the time when he was poisoned. He was conscious but in two worlds, the world in the crystal and another world in his memory.

The complexity of Adrian's mind was stifling especially considering he had yet to fully unlock magical powers. Yet, he was able to split his consciousness into two spaces at once. Though these two incidents were more or less accidents than they were encounters, Adrian's unique talent could not be denied.

So when Adrian's mind temporarily shut down, his consciousness entered this strange world. The world was more or less a weird space. No matter or anything, just colors in and out.

It wouldn't be strange in any way if one referred to the world as a color world. These colors were at a static point such that they were beautiful to behold. However, should any part of this space receive bodily contact, it would collapse, hence it was why only consciousness that didn't have tangible form would exist here.

"What is this place?" Adrian asked and to his surprise, an answer was fed back to his consciousness.

Fron the feedback he got, he understood that this was Chromata, a pseudo version of the Solaris chaosworld. Only that in this world, there were different branches of chaos laws including major, minor and grand chaos laws. The distorted colors were actually an impression of the chaos powers and as long as they existed in the illusory space away from human touch they were eternal.

Though his entry into this space was only an accident, it was actually fated to happen anyways. The weird thing was that he was actually an inheritor to Chromata from his maternal ancestors. But he didn't get to meet his mother for so long anyways so it was something to understand.

"Let's try this out" Adrian sighed in relief as a starter. His mind was pushed to its peak, and it was the best state he had ever been in the past few months before meeting Jasper.

"Incatonos exclesias trasve mustê glitoria hhyunh shardzi, ectanes bleňt vuits denzh…"

Adrian continuously muttered a series of incantations that flashed into his mind as wandering thoughts.

He wasn't even actively saying these words but they kept on flowing for as long as a month in this Chromata space. However, it might have been longer or shorter since the Chromata space being a chaotic space had conflicting time flow.

"...encadina de blastos" Adrian eventually came to a halt.

Chromata returned to its default state before Adrian's unconventional chants polluted the atmosphere.

Even Adrian himself was speechless and at a loss of words for what happened. The eerie silence thereafter was also worrisome. The clock kept ticking but with no time in place, it felt very haunted that he was existing in this strange world.

It was an impressive feat that he had yet to become panicked and was still able to posture confidently. Chromata looked still as it was, a world of color in literal terms but colorless in actuality.

Adrian struck a moment of enlightenment all of a sudden. His Halo of Magic suddenly shone brilliantly, resonating with thousands of colors in Chromata. The halo of magic was like a bridge that finally comnected Adrian's mind and Chromata.

He could notice tiny cracks emerging in the space. The cracks were microscopic at first but eventually they became glaring too and then they continued to multiply.

The colors also began to shrink at the pace in which the cracks were spreading. All this while, Adrian remained unperturbed, just fully indulged in the moment. Any other warlock in his place and even those Magic Lords would witness instant incineration if they ever tried to approach a chaos space, even if it were in their dreams.

Luckily for Adrian, with a motherly advantage, he was immune to the conflicting powers for the meantime. Everything was fine as long as he didn't experience any of these things in real life. It was safe to call him a demigod of this branch of Chromata.

"So that's how it is" Adrian muttered after an unknown period of time.

He eventually opened his eyes and in the place of the world of colors, what he had was a transparent colorless glass pill. The chaos power seeping out of the glass pill was all that showed that it had a likely connection to Chromata from earlier. Asides that, it was just a pretty looking pill.

Adrian walked to the pill and looked closely one last time. With a sigh and look of resolve (biting the bullet) he proceeded to ingest the glass pill.

BANG!

Adrian's consciousness immediately shattered in this space turning his mind blank right after he ingested the pill.

Back in Aldos' cauldron, Adrian awoke with a scream and he held his head that buzzed with nearly a million fragments of memories from the time at Chromata.

Poor Aldos thought that Adrian's scream was due to the manipulation of his psychotic vibrations that tickled Adrian's brain in a perverted manner.

Adrian began bleeding from his orifices. First, his two eyes streamed blood as tears, followed by his nose and then his ears and his mouth. The memory flooding was too much and unplanned for but Adrian was more than grateful for the success when these memories fused.

The glass pill didn't explode with his consciousness entirely then, rather it shattered into fragments to allow his mind better assimilate them. Since they were in memory state, it will be easier for him to adopt it within three centuries.

As long as he mastered the fragments, they'd reunite into the true state of the glass pill thereby granting Adrian the power of a god — chaos.

Right now, his brain successfully assimilated three fragments before pausing as it seemed to have become saturated. And this was only three fragments, a minor fraction of thousands of fragments.

"This old fool didn't see this coming" Adrian smiled with mischief inwardly, he had been tossed around for the past few months.

It was finally the time…

"Are you done?" Adrian suddenly roared, his vocal intensity alone caused the cauldron to tumble greatly.

That of course gave him an awkward moment of instability, but that was all to it. He finally made this perverted fairy realize something. Aldos felt his ear trembling from the rebound noise of Adrian's roar.

"Hmph! I'm done playing games with you, let's end it" Aldos snickered.

His gray wings fluttered as he retreated a few steps back in the air.

"Go find someone your age old shit" Adrian cursed with a cold smile.

Aldos responded by blasting into the cauldron, a wisp of gray flames. The flames locked onto Adrian's position, sealing every path of escape. However, Adrian didn't look frantic or worried.

If one observed closely, in the depths of his eyes was a gleaming light of mockery and disdain for Aldos.

Aldos watched Adrian closely and saw that the kid remained fixated at the same point and sighed in relief. Either it was the kid's confidence or the superposition effect of his gray flames, it was best to rid off the threat.

On the other hand, Adrian forcibly suppressed his smile as he gave a countdown to when he'll take action.

Five…

Four…

Three…

Two …

One…

"It's time!" Adrian stomped his foot and cackled wildly.

Aldos' expression instantly became twisted as he perceived destruction coming his way.
