Chapter 4
Yu Qingxian walked forward for a while, and the sky had turned completely dark.
Although she didn't know if it was because she had turned into a zombie, the only difference between day and night was that her vision was slightly darker.
However, the darkness of the night didn't have much impact on Yu Qingxian's vision.
This was also why she chose not to stop at night.
After Yu Qingxian had walked for about three hours, she suddenly saw a beam of headlights shining over from the side.
This frightened Yu Qingxian and she crouched down to the ground, using the high guardrail to hide her figure.
But some zombies around her were getting restless because of the lights.
Yu Qingxian crouched at the side, and two zombies next to her shuffled over, completely ignoring Yu Qingxian crouching there, and tried to step on her face.
This made Yu Qingxian feel speechless, and she reached out to push one of the zombies away.
That car seemed to just be passing by, it shook and then disappeared.
Yu Qingxian stood up, and that zombie that had tried to step on her face was wandering in front of her.
This made Yu Qingxian feel speechless, so she directly flipped him over the guardrail, making him heavily fall to the ground.
Unfortunately zombies don't feel pain, it got up again quickly after falling to the ground.
In fact, because of Yu Qingxian's "revenge", it had obtained freedom.
Yu Qingxian looked at the zombie shuffling towards the town, she couldn’t help but scratch her head.
She actually felt that it was safer for the zombies to be on this overpass.
Although they might starve to death, they wouldn't be killed in the short term.
She clapped her hands and continued walking forward.
But she had only taken a few steps when she heard gunshots.
The sound made all the zombies on the overpass squeeze towards the sound.
Some zombies were pushed over the overpass by the zombies behind them because of the squeezing.
Yu Qingxian stood at the side watching these zombies fall like dumplings, then get up from the ground again and head towards the sound.
She didn't know how many living people were in that car.
Just a few gunshots were enough to attract all the zombies from the town over.
Although Yu Qingxian was introverted, she didn't have any anti-human thoughts.
She looked down the overpass, it wasn’t very high.
After thinking about it, she still jumped down.
She would check out the situation first before deciding what to do.
As long as she didn't get close to humans, she would be absolutely safe.
When she entered the town, she sneaked along following the zombies.
Finally she saw the car.
But there were no humans.
The car's tires were damaged, and its windshield was also broken.
It looked like they had abandoned the car to escape.
Originally with the car, Yu Qingxian felt their chance of escaping was probably greater.
If they left on foot, they would definitely be surrounded by all the zombies in town.
She was sure she didn't have the ability like those zombie-novel heroines to kill a bloody path for others.
But leaving them alone, they might escape or might not escape.
Yu Qingxian's nose caught a faint strange smell.
It was like the smell of meat and cake that she had smelled.
It was the kind of smell that she had smelled on Gu Wanqing and the others.
She had originally thought it was the smell of meat and cake from Gu Wanqing's supplies.
But now when she thought about it, this was not the smell of food.
This was the smell of humans in the eyes of zombies.
Those bloody smells were definitely not pleasant smells in the human sense of smell.
Humans might even feel disgusted by them.
But these smells were delicacies to zombies.
Even the peculiar smell from a human body would make zombies sense the existence of humans.
Those smells were not the various smells that a human nose could smell.
In a zombie's nose, those were just various food smells.
That meant there were definitely humans in this town.
Even if she couldn't smell them, she could just follow the zombies.
After all with her greyish skin, she looked just like a zombie.
Just one whose decay wasn't as severe as the others.
Yu Qingxian saw zombies from all directions crowding towards a several story high building.
She also roughly knew that was where these people were hiding.
But hiding here for one or two days was fine, but after a long time, they would either be eaten by zombies or starve to death.
They still needed to find a way to escape.
Yu Qingxian looked around, then sneakily went in another direction.
Actually as long as these people hid well and didn't make any sound, as long as something else attracted the zombies away, they would be able to escape.
And probably the only thing Yu Qingxian could do was this.
Whether they would be able to escape later would be up to their own fortunes.
Yu Qingxian found the town's radio station room, the recorder inside should have a backup power supply.
She still needed to connect it to the broadcast.
Then those zombies would come to this place.
Having a midnight party with her own kind probably wouldn't be a problem right?
After tinkering for half a day, Yu Qingxian finally connected to the broadcast.
She had originally wanted to speak to tell those people to escape, but on second thought, if she spoke, wouldn't she expose herself?
Therefore she decided against it.
As long as this broadcast sounded, the zombies would be alerted by the noise and move towards it.
Then as long as those people weren't stupid, they would all know this was a chance to escape.
Of course, Yu Qingxian didn't know at this time that the survivors hiding in that building were feeling utterly hopeless.
They had originally come to this town to search for supplies.
But they were chased by zombies, and then their car suddenly got a flat tire.
The car went out of control and crashed into a wall, and they couldn't drive it anymore.
They could only abandon the car and escape on foot.
They didn't find any supplies, but their car was wrecked in this place.
Now all the zombies in this town had gathered here because of those gunshots.
The leader looked at the shivering youth, only feeling somewhat helpless.
Blaming him now wouldn't change anything.
If it weren't for those gunshots, the zombies would only have been attracted by the sound of the car.
But for some reason, that youth had fired several shots, agitating all the zombies in the small town.
Now they were trapped on the upper floors of this building, and escaping seemed nearly impossible.
Although they had locked the doors tightly, they had very scarce food supplies.
Not enough to last them more than a few days.
"What should we do now?" However one person looked rather calm.
He stood at the window, looking at the zombies gathering below, and asked aloud.
Actually, escaping wasn't entirely impossible.
They just needed someone to go out and act as bait.
But whoever went to act as bait surely wouldn't survive.
So who should they send out as bait?
But before he even finished speaking, they heard static sounds in the air.
"What is this sound?" Someone else also heard this sound.
It really was too harsh.
"Don't know, it should be the town's radio room, but who could still be alive in the radio room at a time like this?" Now it had been more than 20 days after the apocalypse, who could hide away and survive in a small town like this for over a month?
They had just finished speaking when they heard the radio suddenly start playing a song.
Because the sound was so loud, all the zombies below them headed in the direction of the sound.
Seeing the zombies leave, these people knew this was the best chance to escape.
"Could there be someone at the radio room? That person saved us." After getting down from the building, the 5 people headed towards the town exit.
For now they had truly escaped the danger.
But was that person who turned on the broadcast really alright?
"There probably isn't anyone, even if there really was someone, they would have run away too, no one would be so dumb to stay there and let themselves be surrounded by zombies with no way to escape." said the leader.
But they didn't know that the person who had saved them was currently hosting a zombie party.
