The Delicate Female Lead Only Wants to be Loved by the Villainous Young Ladies

chapter 240 - A Childhood Dream

Gazing at the magnificent city before her, Adele couldn’t help but gasp in awe. If the saying went, “He who has never been to the Great Wall is not a true man,” then for vampires, it should be, “He who has never been to Twilight City is not a true vampire.” As the capital city, built by the twelve True Ancestors as the foundation of the vampire race, Twilight City held a place of immense importance in every vampire’s heart. Even Adele, a relative newcomer to the vampire world, felt a thrill of anticipation.

Numerous vampire guards flanked the central teleportation circle, respectfully escorting Hermione, Adele, and their entourage off the platform. This was standard procedure, ensuring the smooth arrival of the next wave of travelers. Lingering on an active teleportation circle was dangerous.
In this sense, the teleportation circle was like a vampire’s version of a train station, the space between circles akin to the train itself. Furthermore, the teleportation circle wasn’t solely for inbound travel. At night, its magic reversed, becoming the departure point to other smaller teleportation circles. According to vampire custom, daytime was for arrivals, nighttime for departures.
“Let’s go back to my family’s estate first,” Hermione said, squeezing Adele’s hand gently. “Then I’ll show you around Twilight City.”

Adele nodded obediently, her small hand nestled within Hermione’s, a picture of docility. Unfamiliar with the city, she instinctively sought comfort in Hermione’s presence. Hermione, meanwhile, secretly reveled in Adele’s dependence, taking it as a sign of their special bond.
As they walked, Adele took the opportunity to observe her surroundings. Twilight City seemed to revolve around the distant Black Emperor’s Palace, its four main avenues and countless smaller streets branching outwards like the limbs of a giant tree. A river flowed through the city’s heart, its surface occasionally broken by the leaping forms of magical fish Adele couldn’t name. She watched, mesmerized, as one fish blew a bubble, encased itself within it, and floated gently into the air. At a certain height, the bubble popped, and the fish splashed back into the river. Adele was captivated.
As expected of fish from the vampire capital, Adele thought. City fish, they really know how to play.

Hermione smiled and explained, “They’re called Magic Bubble Fish, a very straightforward name… but it does fit their characteristics.”
“These fish blow bubbles and float in the air to attract female Bubble Fish.”
“In short, it’s a courtship behavior during their mating season.”

“However, due to targeted breeding by vampires, there are now purely ornamental Bubble Fish that blow bubbles for fun, even outside of mating season.”
“Amazing!”
“Then… is their meat delicious?”

Hermione was taken aback by Adele’s question.
After all, not many people would immediately think about whether a fish’s meat was delicious…
She really is… a cute little foodie.

Hermione was always honest; she would admit if she didn’t know something.
So she shook her head, but then said indulgently,
“I’ll have someone buy one and cook it later. Do you prefer steamed or braised?”

“Really!?”
“Then… I’ll have it braised!”
There was no need for hesitation, Adele preferred stronger flavors and didn’t usually like steamed food, except for crabs!
Hermione’s family members, watching the interaction between the two girls, couldn’t help but sweat.

Miss Hermione, you’re spoiling this country girl too much…
Thinking that this girl would become the mistress of their family in the future, their feelings were complicated.
The overall style of the buildings in Twilight City was very Western and retro.

Perhaps similar to “Romanesque,” that is, Roman-style buildings, which were generally grand, solemn, mysterious, and transcendental.
Perhaps if time traveled back a thousand years, the most prosperous Western cities would probably look like this.
But whether the aesthetics of that time were defined by Westerners themselves, or whether it was originally the artistic style of vampires, which was then spread and developed by them when they chose to become human lords and play the game of life…

That was unknown.
As the race most closely connected to and intertwined with humans for thousands of years…
Many of humanity’s artistic achievements were already marked with the imprint of vampires, indelible.

But what humans could be proud of was that there was almost no vampire involvement in their modern scientific achievements.
Since vampires possessed mysterious magic power, they naturally weren’t willing to develop clumsy and pragmatic technology.
But judging from the current situation, the power of science was far greater than anyone could imagine.

Even in the vampire’s Twilight City, streetlights and many other traces of modernization could be seen on the streets.
The most common ones were, of course, luxury cars…
And even luxury stores.

These were just what could be seen on the streets. As for what kind of treasures these high-ranking blood nobles collected in their private estates or castles…
That was unknown.
Regarding this trend of luxury, Adele just wanted to say…

Count me in!
Along the way, Hermione showed Adele the prosperity of Twilight City, and finally, they arrived at a beautiful estate in the suburbs, with fresh air and lush vegetation.
There was a huge castle-like building in the estate. As expected, it was where Hermione’s family elders lived.

But Hermione preferred to live in another two-story house, which was her private property.
It was there that Adele spent her first few days in Twilight City.
And they could be said to be among the first vampires to arrive in the vampire capital to prepare for the “Blood Trial.”

Dorothy, Celeste, and the others would return to Twilight City soon.
By then, Adele would have a lot of support.
She would probably be able to walk sideways among the younger generation of vampires.

But that was good news for Adele, yet a worry for Hermione.
She hadn’t had Adele to herself for long before she had to share her with others.
A pang of sadness always lingered in Hermione’s heart, a surge of jealousy. It made her want to seduce Adele every moment they were together, to lose herself in the girl’s embrace. In the short time they had been in Twilight City, Adele had noticed Hermione’s increased desire for intimacy. And each time, Adele willingly complied, indulging Hermione’s every whim, whether taking the dominant or submissive role. So Hermione… is actually such a clingy girl in private? Adele mused, a touch of amusement warming her heart.

After one particularly intense… session, Hermione lay on Adele’s chest, breathless, her eyes hazy and deep. Adele’s fingertips traced patterns across Hermione’s cool skin, a feather-light touch that sent shivers down Hermione’s spine.
Adele giggled, finding Hermione’s reactions endlessly entertaining. Hermione, her lips pursed, simply relaxed into the touch, her body responding instinctively.
In this silent play, something within Hermione shifted. She realized that the idea of “monopolizing” Adele was absurd. Adele wasn’t an object to be possessed, but a person with her own thoughts and desires, the person Hermione loved.

Love was often described as selfish, but if seeing the object of your affection suffer because of that love left you unmoved, then perhaps that love wasn’t as genuine as you believed. Hermione didn’t want Adele to suffer because of her, so her love became permissive, indulgent. As long as she could hear Adele’s laughter, it was all worth it.
In the twilight glow of the room, Hermione leaned in, kissing Adele’s bruised and swollen lips. Adele instinctively wrapped her arms around Hermione’s slender waist, her hand moving lower, cupping the girl’s full hips, feeling the tremors that ran through Hermione’s body.
The kiss lingered, a silent conversation of love and desire. When they finally parted, Adele, a touch of concern in her eyes, gently brushed a stray strand of hair from Hermione’s forehead, damp with sweat.

“Greedy girl,” she murmured, her voice a husky whisper. “Do you… want more?”
Adele’s body showed no signs of fatigue. As the Lust Witch, her stamina was practically limitless. But Hermione, despite her noble bloodline and exceptional talent, was feeling the strain of their continuous intimacy. It wasn’t just men who experienced depletion of energy; women did too. It referred to both physical and mental exhaustion.
Adele worried about Hermione, even though she herself felt invigorated by their encounters. She was, after all, driven by a desire to protect those she loved, and if that meant sacrificing her own pleasure to preserve Hermione’s well-being, she would do it without hesitation.

Hermione, meeting Adele’s concerned gaze, smiled faintly. She shook her head, declining Adele’s offer. Then, taking Adele’s hand, she guided it to her cheek, nuzzling against it like a contented cat. Hermione envied First Snow, the little cat-girl who could spend her days basking in Adele’s affection without a care in the world.
Hermione, however, was burdened by her responsibilities, her reserved nature, and the constant calculations that came with navigating the complexities of their relationship. It was this pent-up frustration that had fueled her recent insatiable desire for Adele.
Fortunately, Adele, a homebody at heart, had quickly grown tired of sightseeing in Twilight City, and, sensing Hermione’s unspoken desires, had happily indulged her for the past two days, their time together a whirlwind of passion and intimacy. It seemed her efforts to reassure Hermione had worked… for now.

Hermione, basking in Adele’s touch, seemed almost docile. Relaxing against Adele’s shoulder, she said softly, “Dorothy arrived yesterday. I didn’t tell you… Adele.”
“Oh, that,” Adele replied, not sounding surprised.
“It’s fine, let’s ignore her for now.”

“…” Hermione was taken aback by Adele’s casual dismissal of Dorothy. But the clear difference in Adele’s treatment of her and Dorothy filled Hermione’s heart with a sweet satisfaction. She no longer felt the need to completely possess Adele. She hadn’t in the past, and she wouldn’t in the future. And as for now… wasn’t she enjoying Adele completely? Still, a small part of her yearned for a little more… preferential treatment.
………………
The reason Adele needed Hermione to relay messages was that cell phone signals didn’t work within the vampire capital. Communication with the outside world was limited. After all, those mobile network operators couldn’t exactly set up cell towers inside a magically sealed city.

Adele had managed well enough without her phone for the past few days, Hermione’s constant presence a welcome distraction.
It was like a return to a simpler, more rustic life. Hermione’s family estate was vast, even boasting a field of fluffy white cotton plants. And if Adele grew bored, there were game consoles aplenty—Switch, PS5, and more. Just clearing all the games would take months, if not years. And if even gaming lost its appeal, there were always videotapes to watch, both the wholesome and the… less so.
The videotape business was surprisingly brisk within the vampire community. In a sense, vampires were quite nostalgic, even retro. Adele and Hermione had enjoyed quite a few… educational videos together, exploring the nuances of love and affection between women.

God knows where Hermione found this collection; it was her prized possession, hidden from everyone except Adele. The image of the aloof Ice Queen secretly hoarding lewd videotapes was a stark contrast to her public persona. When Adele asked about it, Hermione blushed and explained shyly,
“When I was very young… I got lost in my family’s estate and overheard strange sounds coming from a room…”
“And then you couldn’t resist peeking?” Adele asked, her eyes gleaming with mischievous curiosity.

Hermione, her cheeks flushing a deeper pink, nodded, her gaze fixed on the floor. “It was the first time I saw two young girls embracing each other,” she murmured. “Not just in the video they were watching, but also… in real life…”
It had been two girls from Hermione’s family, perhaps cousins or distant relatives.
Their youthful bodies intertwined, leaving a lasting impression on the young Hermione. It wasn’t exactly a traumatic experience. Even then, Hermione had recognized a certain beauty in the scene, a dreamlike quality that resembled a moving painting. Though the details were now hazy, the feeling of wonder and fascination remained. But with her reserved nature, she kept this memory hidden, a secret treasure locked away in her heart.

It wasn’t until she met Adele that she dared to explore these hidden desires, to embrace the love and passion she had witnessed so long ago.
She knew that within the vampire race, love between women wasn’t just tolerated but often encouraged, given their unique method of procreation through Blood Cocoons. However, despite countless confessions and love letters, none of the girls Hermione had encountered had ever truly captured her heart. Many were overly forward, even desperate, their affections leaving Hermione feeling uncomfortable and confused.
She began to question her own orientation, wondering if her attraction to girls was merely a product of that childhood encounter, a long-lasting psychological suggestion, rather than genuine love. The thought of being with a boy, however, was even more repulsive. Was she simply asexual? she wondered. Hermione couldn’t find the answers on her own.

Then, one day at Cromwell Academy, she saw Dorothy bullying a girl. And in that instant, a powerful jolt ran through Hermione’s heart, shattering her carefully constructed composure. From that moment on, she was no longer the same. And the question that had plagued her finally had an answer.
Adele listened to Hermione’s confession, a complex smile playing on her lips. It wasn’t exactly happiness, nor was it sadness or sorrow. It was a subtle… unease. Because the girl Hermione had been attracted to was undeniably the original “Adele,” the previous inhabitant of this body. Perhaps it was part of the book’s setting, a predetermined attraction. But attraction was far from genuine love.
Adele was certain the original “Adele” had never reciprocated Hermione’s feelings. And Hermione’s interest in “Adele” had been just that—interest. It wasn’t until Adele arrived, until she actively pursued Hermione, that their connection deepened into genuine love. Adele herself had also evolved, her initial intentions of manipulation giving way to genuine affection for the Ice Queen. So, while a part of her felt a strange possessiveness towards Hermione’s past affections, she wasn’t angry or jealous.

After all, it was she, the current Adele, who had ultimately won Hermione’s heart, who shared her body and soul with the Ice Queen. These were truths she would likely never reveal to Hermione.
The videotape reached a particularly passionate scene, and Adele and Hermione exchanged a look, their eyes filled with unspoken desires. Everything that followed seemed inevitable.
The dreamlike fantasies of Hermione’s youth…

Were all realized with Adele.
Or rather, Adele was her childhood dream.

Author Note:
&
(Regarding the past “Adele,” if I don’t explain, it will definitely cause controversy about whether this is NTR.)
(So let me spoil a little bit, you could say that she’s a small part of Adele’s soul, Adele is basically wearing herself.)
(So whether Hermione and the others liked the past “Adele” or not, they actually all like Adele, but Adele herself doesn’t know this yet.)
(And the girls that the current Adele worked so hard to conquer, their feelings are all for the current Adele, naturally having nothing to do with the previous “Adele.”)
