The detention
After saying that she wanted to remove my curse, Marie immersed herself in the book about time magic and other related topics.
I had already done research on this, but nothing indicated how to get rid of it.
I did not bother her for anything, partly so she would give me some space and stop her attacks at random times, but also because it warmed my heart that she made such an effort for me.
Night came quickly, and it was time for Hermione, Harry, Neville, and Draco to serve their detention, which was supervised by Filch.
I wished Hermione good luck and told her that I would wait for her with some hot chocolate.
She blushed a little before leaving for her detention.
The only incredible thing about detention is that it’s one of the rare times you can walk around the corridors at night without being punished.
From what I know, Fred and George can also do this without being in detention. At the beginning of my first year, I occasionally asked them to show me some shortcuts, and I was very surprised by how much time they saved in navigating the castle.
They even said that they knew secret passages to get out of the school and that there were seven, but only three were unknown to Filch.
I was shocked when I heard that there is one beneath the Whomping Willow.
With a quick calculation, it was easy to figure out that it didn’t lead too far, and that they would get stuck, but I wonder how they knew that if they said they had never used it.
Apparently, a former student had told them indirectly. I was a bit curious, but they said they would tell me more in a few years.
What you should remember is that they have a map of the castle with potentially all the rooms it can have.
I'm pretty sure that one of the rooms not mentioned on the map is the Chamber of Secrets because it was only a legend until 50 years ago. I have no idea who its owner might be, but it could be the founder, the first student, or someone else.
While my mind was drifting through thoughts of the famous map that Fred and George had, someone shook me a little, and it turned out to be Hermione, who had just returned from detention.
"Tell me how your detention went."
At first, she spoke about Filch, who reminisced about the good old days when detentions involved physical punishment.
They headed to Hagrid’s cabin, where they realized their detention would take place with him. They felt somewhat relieved, but then Filch told them they would be going into the Forbidden Forest.
Draco totally panicked, but he had no choice—if he refused, he would be expelled. Apparently, it was the most satisfying moment of the detention.
They then learned that their detention involved finding a unicorn that was apparently injured.
They split into two groups: one with Hagrid, Harry, and Hermione, and the other with the rest.
But in the middle of the task, there was a warning signal. Apparently, Draco had played a prank on Neville, who panicked and called for help.
The groups were rearranged, with Harry taking Neville's place.
That's when the interesting part happened—Harry discovered the corpse of the unicorn and a black shadow that approached to drink its blood.
I was horrified to hear that, because only a real monster would do such a thing and kill such a pure creature.
Before the shadow could attack Harry, a centaur came to save him from what appeared to be the shadow surrounding Harry. After discussing with Hermione, they concluded that the black shadow was Voldy.
