Chapter 153: Mariage
Pov Dia,
My marriage to Yasaka was finally approaching. I couldn't see little Kitsune, but I knew she was eager for us to be married.
I wore the most beautiful Japanese outfit anyone could imagine.
It was Rimuru who insisted on creating my wedding outfit and Yasaka's as well.
I tried to invite Scathach-sensei to this wedding—my first—but because of our last fight, she no longer wants to speak to me.
Theoretically, I won, but I fainted when she attacked me after the fight, so she considers herself the true victor of the duel.
She resents me for destroying her mythical weapon, but it will be repaired in a few centuries, so there's no need to worry.
As for my Longinus, even though it was greatly damaged, it has already been repaired. You just need to place it next to the same crystal it's made of to restore it.
In reality, Scathach-sensei is upset because I finally managed to win a fight within the time limit, and her pride won't let her accept it.
For so many centuries of wanting to defeat her and finally succeeding, I think I'll never experience such a satisfying feeling again—unless I give my all for my daughters.
Rimuru: "Dia-sama, it's time."
Rimuru came to announce the start of my wedding.
In principle, I wouldn't have done this, but tradition demands a wedding. From my point of view, you don't need a ceremony to be married—you just need to love each other.
Moreover, a marriage contract is just a piece of paper. Its significance doesn't count for us devils, as contracts are sacred to us. Otherwise, it's simply a piece of paper that can burn, yet some believe it to be all-powerful. That's true only for devils.
I had to arrange a pseudo-marriage with Gabriel, but that was because she is one of the four Great Seraphim. It had to be done officially, albeit discreetly, so that the fanatics of the Church wouldn't set the world ablaze.
I started walking toward the hotel where all of Yasaka's ancestors had been married—Inari and Kurama were also wed here.
At the center of the hotel stood Ama, who was going to preside over the wedding, as she is a goddess and also Yasaka's protector.
Amaterasu: "Time is passing quickly, isn't it? It's already been two years since you learned you were going to marry her."
Dia: "Honestly, I still wish this wedding weren't happening. I was trapped by Inari, but I have no choice. This wedding will leave a bitter taste compared to the previous ones."
Amaterasu: "I thought you didn't marry the others?"
Dia: "And that's true, but we could consider the moment I placed the cursed ring on them as a kind of marriage. From that moment on, I would never let them escape, no matter the circumstances."
My voice began to take on a possessive tone as I continued speaking.
Amaterasu: "Calm down before you go crazy before your wedding. She's coming."
I turned my head to see Yasaka, dressed in an entirely white Japanese outfit. In fact, it was even whiter than the original white—it almost hurt the eyes, but she looked so beautiful in it.
She stepped forward, bowed to Ama, and then turned to face me.
As with any official ceremony, we had the boring monologue that reminded me once again why I despise wedding ceremonies.
Why listen to such nonsense when a simple oath is more than enough?
Finally, after exchanging our vows to love each other until death separates us, I handed the cursed ring to Yasaka.
Dia: "It feels like you were just a child not so long ago, but look at you now. You're a beautiful woman who captivates my attention. This ring is the proof of my overwhelming love for you, but know that if you accept it, you can never part from me. NEVER."
She accepted without hesitation, leaning forward to press her lips to mine.
Yasaka: "We will be together now and forever."
