Chapter 13 - The Spare Tire of the CEO’s Woman (13)
Mother Lin glared at her angrily.
When it came to arguments, her temper had always been bad when she was young. Now that she was older and her children weren’t around, her character had softened a lot. But when she encountered such a shameless person, her old nature flared up.
With a cold snort, Mother Lin looked at her disdainfully. “I’m just a rural woman. Even if I’m rude, I’m not as shameless as you!”
“You!” Jiang Wanyan was so angry that her face turned pale. “What right do you have to say that about me without knowing the whole story? Do you have any idea what I’ve been through?”
“I’m saying you’re a young girl, don’t you have any shame?” Mother Lin didn’t want to listen to her long-winded explanations or her lofty ideals. “You came to my house without any hesitation, lied to us like this, and I’m not allowed to feel wronged?”
The people in the village were generally simple and honest, though this woman was a bit of a gossip, and so occasionally had a big mouth. But she hadn’t done anything too excessive.
Mother Lin had lived so many years and this was the first time she had encountered something like this. However, knowing that her son would be coming back soon, Mother Lin felt more confident.
No matter what, they were in the right, and Mother Lin wasn’t afraid of her at all.
“What right do you have to feel wronged? Have you ever enjoyed wealth and luxury? Have you ever swiped a credit card without blinking and spent millions?” Jiang Wanyan grew more agitated, pointing at herself. Her expression twisted with fury. “You’ve never experienced that, but I have! I have!”
Pointing at her chest, Jiang Wanyan’s demeanor became a bit manic. “I once lived a life of wealth and luxury, but all of it was lost because of your son. It was such a small favor for him, but he didn’t help me, so I lost everything. Do you know how much it hurts?”
If Lin Zixiang hadn’t called Ouyang Ming, no one would have known about the situation she ran away from, and Ouyang Ming wouldn’t have found out she was pregnant.
Once the child grew up, she planned to introduce him to Ouyang Ming. Everything seemed to be falling into place, but the most important step; she had never expected that the person she once thought was her best supporter, Lin Zixiang, wouldn’t help her!
“My son didn’t help you?” Mother Lin rolled her eyes.
“I’m telling you, young lady, have you gone crazy? What’s your relationship with my son? Why should he help you? The child in your belly isn’t even his! If he helped you, I’d break his legs!”
Feeling that her son had done the right thing, Mother Lin grew a bit impatient and didn’t want to argue with Jiang Wanyan anymore.
At first, she had been a bit hesitant because Jiang Wanyan was pregnant, but seeing how forcefully she had just been yelling, Mother Lin felt that she shouldn’t be so merciful.
Having worked hard all her life, Mother Lin’s hands were naturally much stronger than Jiang Wanyan’s. Without any hesitation, Mother Lin yanked Jiang Wanyan off the sofa and pushed her out of the yard.
She casually tossed Jiang Wanyan’s luggage outside, then clapped her hands, went into the house, and brought out a stool to sit by the door, guarding it.

“While I’m here today, don’t even think about stepping into my house. If you know what’s good for you, leave now.” Mother Lin was done being patient with her. She felt that this was already a polite response.
Inside, Father Lin was packing clothes, hearing the commotion outside and sighing. As a man, even if he felt uncomfortable, he couldn’t lay a hand on a young girl. It was better to leave things to Mother Lin.
Jiang Wanyan was pushed outside, feeling quite embarrassed.
She touched her still-flat belly and looked like she was in pain, but the words coming out of her mouth made Mother Lin want to throw her out again.
“What right does your son have to not help me? He’s helped me so many times before, almost giving me his whole heart. What’s wrong with him helping me this time?” It seemed like she found a way to vent her frustrations. Jiang Wanyan poured out all her grievances. “I treated him like a brother, trusted him so much, even told him I was pregnant. But how did he treat me? Do you know? Huh?”
Mother Lin glanced at her, her tone cold. “How did my son treat you? Even if he treated you badly, it’s definitely because you did something wrong. I still have some confidence in my son’s character.”
“Hah, your good son has already changed!”
“Tsk, does my son need you to tell me whether he has changed or not? Besides, I only have one son and one daughter, both my children. Now, you want to treat Zixiang like a brother, but have you asked me, his mother?” Mother Lin was quite skilled in this kind of verbal battle. She had lived more than 20 years longer than Jiang Wanyan, and her tongue was far sharper.
“Ptooey!” Unable to say anything more, Jiang Wanyan resorted to cursing. “Your son is a scoundrel! He betrayed my trust! Don’t you want to know the good deeds your son has done?”
Mother Lin’s face changed. Fortunately, the neighbors weren’t home; otherwise, hearing what this woman was saying, they might think her son had done something terrible to her.
With a cold expression, Mother Lin replied without holding back. “I don’t know, and I don’t want to hear your nonsense. Stop talking and behave yourself, will you?”
Jiang Wanyan refused to listen, even wanting to continue speaking.
“I told him all my secrets, but he actually called the father of the child here! Now we’ve signed the divorce agreement, and I’ve lost everything. So all of this is Lin Zixiang’s fault! Why can’t I blame him?”
As she spoke, her voice began to crack with tears, and Jiang Wanyan felt deeply wronged.
Mother Lin couldn’t make sense of the nonsense she was spouting, but she felt an extreme lack of trust toward this woman. “What does this have to do with my son? You already said the child isn’t his. Then isn’t it right for him to call the person you’re talking about? You’re divorced? What does that have to do with my son? Are you implying that you him with my son?”
“How can you be so unreasonable!”
Jiang Wanyan was furious, feeling like she couldn’t reason with this country woman at all.
Mother Lin realized that there was no point in talking to this woman. She would always think she was right, so she simply decided to stop engaging.
After cursing for a while and seeing no reaction from Mother Lin, Jiang Wanyan finally fell silent.
Mother Lin ignored her, leisurely fanning herself with a hand fan, completely uninterested in Jiang Wanyan.
Jiang Wanyan sat on her luggage, having spoken for so long, feeling thirsty. The weather was hot, and she was feeling uncomfortable from the sun.
Seeing that Mother Lin wasn’t paying attention to her, Jiang Wanyan decided not to speak anymore. She didn’t believe that if she passed out from the heat, they wouldn’t take responsibility.
Mother Lin, sitting comfortably under the eaves, felt thirsty and called out to Father Lin.
“Old man, I’m a bit thirsty. Could you pour me a cup of cool tea?”
Jiang Wanyan stared at her, nearly burning a hole in her with her gaze.

Having taken a leave of absence from work, Hai Ku drove back. It was more than a 2-hour drive from the company to his hometown, and at first, he was a little anxious, afraid that Mother Lin and Father Lin might be bullied.
But when he was halfway there, Mother Lin called him.
His heart skipped a beat. Hai Ku thought something had happened and quickly answered the phone. “Mom, I’ll be there in half an hour. Did something happen?”
Having already witnessed how shameless Jiang Wanyan was, Hai Ku truly feared that her “female lead aura” might still have some terrifying influence.
“Son, drive slowly and be safe. Your father and I have already packed everything. We’re just waiting for you to come and pick us up,” Mother Lin intentionally raised her voice, making sure Jiang Wanyan, who was sitting in the yard, could hear her.
Jiang Wanyan gritted her teeth, but she was truly exhausted. She had been sunbathing all afternoon without a drop of water. Now, not only was her mouth dry, but her stomach was growling as well.
“Hey, your father and I will be waiting for you at home! Don’t worry about talking too much while you’re driving,” Mother Lin ended the call, giving Jiang Wanyan a disdainful look. “Humph, if you were smart, you’d leave quickly!”
Biting her lip, Jiang Wanyan didn’t move, pretending she hadn’t heard anything. She was betting; betting that Lin Zixiang would feel pity for her when he saw her in such a miserable state.
If he found out that she had already divorced Ouyang Ming, would there still be a chance, even if just a sliver?
Even though Lin Zixiang’s family conditions weren’t as good as Ouyang Ming’s, but…
But he had once loved her, loved her to the point of obsession.
After Hai Ku hung up the phone, he focused on driving, but despite the hot weather, he sneezed several times, a faint sense of unease creeping over him.
However, thinking of the female lead’s golden finger, Hai Ku couldn’t help but ask the system.
“What is the female protagonist’s golden finger ability in this world?”
[Since this is your first mission, we can provide you with the female protagonist’s golden finger effect. For the second mission, you will need to discover it on your own.]
“Okay, I understand.”
[The golden finger of the female protagonist, Jiang Wanyan, in “The CEO’s Spoiled Wife Runs Away with the Ball” is: 1. The affection of all supporting males. 2. Crying will make her appear pitiful, attracting the male lead’s attention and the supporting males’ focus.]
[Special information: There are only two supporting males in this story, one is Lin Zixiang, and the other is abroad.]
