Chapter 4: Chapter 4: A New Light in the Solryn Household
Some days had passed since Lucian heard the joyous news—his mother was expecting a child. At first, he didn't know how to react, but as the realization set in, a sense of happiness overwhelmed him. A younger sibling… someone he could care for, guide, and protect. The thought brought a smile to his face.
He often stayed close to his mother, watching over her and asking endless questions about the baby. "What will they look like? Will they like magic? Can I teach them something one day?" His mother laughed gently at his curiosity, brushing his dark hair away from his face. "You'll be a wonderful older brother, Luc," she assured him, her voice full of love.
His father, on the other hand, took great amusement in teasing him. "Don't go spoiling them too much," he said with a grin one evening. "You're already too grown up for a six-year-old!" Lucian only smiled, not minding the teasing—it only made him more determined to grow stronger and prove himself.

Secret Training
Though Lucian trained with his father in the courtyard every morning, learning basic swordsmanship and sparring techniques, he spent his afternoons in secret. Deep in the forest behind their home, he practiced martial arts from his past life—techniques that didn't exist in this world.
Standing barefoot on the soft grass, he focused on his breathing, his movements precise yet fluid. The punches, kicks, and stances came naturally to him, as though his body remembered even when his mind hesitated.
"This feels right," he murmured to himself one day, wiping sweat from his brow. "If I combine this with the weapons I used in my past life, I can be ready for anything."
He had already crafted makeshift weapons using materials he found in the forest—a wooden staff, a practice spear, and even a small dagger. His favorite was a long stick he had whittled into the shape of a katana. Though crude, it helped him remember the techniques he once mastered.
Balancing his time between martial arts and multi-weapon practice was no easy task, but Lucian thrived in the challenge. Each day brought a small improvement—a faster strike, a smoother block, a more stable stance. Though he was far from his former strength, the progress motivated him to keep going.

Magic Practice
When not training physically, Lucian worked on his magic. His instructor had started with the basics—summoning small flames, shaping water droplets, and controlling light breezes. For a six-year-old, even these tasks were challenging, but Lucian approached them with unwavering focus.
"Control, Lucian," his instructor said during one lesson. "Magic isn't about forcing the elements—it's about guiding them."
Lucian nodded, his brows furrowed in concentration. Extending his hand, he summoned a flicker of fire, letting it dance on his palm before gently extinguishing it. Though far from mastering the elements, he could feel his connection to magic deepening with each practice session.
"I'll learn it all," he whispered to himself one evening as he stared at the stars. "Magic, martial arts, weapons… I'll combine them all and become stronger."

Family Bonds
Despite his rigorous training schedule, Lucian always made time for his mother. As her pregnancy progressed, he grew increasingly protective of her, helping with small tasks and checking on her frequently.
One evening, as she rested on the couch, Lucian sat by her side, his small hand resting on her growing belly. "Do you think it will be a boy or a girl?" he asked curiously.
His mother smiled softly, shaking her head. "I don't know yet, Luc. But boy or girl, they'll need you to look after them."
Lucian smiled back, already imagining what it would be like to have a sibling. Someone to play with, to teach, and to protect. He promised himself that he would do everything in his power to make them happy.

The Day They Arrived
The day finally came after what felt like an eternity. It was early morning when Lucian's father woke him, his face a mix of excitement and nervousness. "Luc, stay here. Your mother needs me," he said quickly before disappearing down the hallway.
The next few hours felt endless. Lucian paced the hallways, his mind racing with both excitement and worry. What if something went wrong? What if he didn't get to meet his sibling after all this waiting?
Finally, the sound of a baby's cries filled the house, and Lucian's heart leapt with joy. Moments later, his father appeared, his expression one of pure relief and happiness. "Luc, it's time. Come meet your sibling."
Lucian rushed into the room, his heart pounding. His mother lay on the bed, looking tired but radiant. In her arms was a small bundle, swaddled in soft blankets.
"It's a girl," she said softly, her smile wide despite her exhaustion. "Luc, meet your sister."
Lucian approached cautiously, his eyes wide with wonder. The baby stirred, her tiny hand peeking out from the blanket. Lucian reached out, and her fingers curled instinctively around his.
"She's so small," he whispered, a smile spreading across his face. "I'll protect her."
His mother's eyes filled with tears, and his father placed a hand on his shoulder. "We know you will, Luc. You're already an amazing older brother."
