Chapter 11.1 - The Eleventh Night Part 1
The Eleventh Night Part 1
“If I like you… then would you be willing to run away with me?”
As each second and minute went by, Sean looked away from Joyce’s eyes that were filled with hope.
“No.”
Even though she already knew he would answer like that, Joyce still lowered her head in disappointment.
Her shoulders fell down like a young cat that could not please her owner. Sean reached out and rubbed her head.
“Why do you want to run away?”
Joyce curled her lips and said, “With a villain like me, the Great Demon Dragon… the king will happily come here to kill a few vampires when he is in a good mood or kill a few vampires as sacrifices to the gods if he is in a bad mood.”
“…He won’t.” Sean paused. For the first time, he tried to give an explanation. “Otherwise, he wouldn’t have ignored you for so long.” ꜱᴜᴘᴘᴏʀᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛʀᴀɴꜱʟᴀᴛᴏʀ ᴀɴᴅ ʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴏɴ ꜰᴏxᴀʜᴏʟɪᴄ.ᴄᴏᴍ
Joyce replied in a matter of fact tone, “He's currently busy being in love with the princess, so of course he doesn't have time to take care of us minions.”
“…”
Sean took a deep breath. He frowned and was deep in his thoughts for a while, thinking that it was urgent to change the vampire's perception of the King of Karnia.
His voice deepened and he asked, “Who says the king is in love with the princess?”
“Don’t tell me he isn't?” Joyce was surprised like she had discovered a secret. “As the male lead of the otome manga, there must be something special about him to stand out from so many male supporting characters.”
Sean did not react to her praise, but then he heard her continue.
“But it's been such a long time, why isn’t he done pursuing Princess Isabella? You’re one of his rivals and you've all been kidnapped by me…” Joyce said and giggled as she approached. “Is it because he can’t do it?!”
Se-“can’t do it”-an: “…”
“Did I figure it out?” Joyce looked at Sean's face. With a low chuckle, she ambiguously said, “I've seen a lot of this kind of trope. He needs to be cured. Naturally, the princess will cure him from how he can’t do it. He will fall in love with the princess, and then…”
Sean's face grew darker and darker. “You…”
“Okay, okay, I'll stop.” Joyce held back her excitement. She remembered that Sean had defended the Great Demon Dragon, so she awkwardly stopped talking about it.
“Let's go eat!”
In the next moment, Joyce happily took his hand and said, “Come on, let's go eat first.”
In order to be hospitable to the two farmers who came to help, Joyce prepared a lavish dinner. One did not know if it was the look or smell that made it delicious, but it made the two men swallow their saliva.
“Thank you for your help today. Please help yourself.”
The two men still hesitated, but when they saw that Sean had picked up a knife and fork and began to eat as usual, they gradually let down their guard and followed him awkwardly to carefully take a small bite.
Joyce did not dine with the three of them at this time, but she still watched Sean eat.
Sean, who had just eaten a piece of beef, looked up at her calmly as usual.
Joyce knew that it was Sean telling her that the food was good, her eyes filled with joy. She felt very happy even though she wasn’t eating with them.
After the two farmers tried the food, they looked unhappy and even frantically picked up the water next to them to gulp it down.
Joyce was slightly startled. She stared at them for a bit, then lowered her eyes and did not say a word about it.
In the next few days, the blood thirsty vampires began went about the farm work seriously. But because of this, Joyce kept a closer watch on the two farmers instructing them in case the hungry vampires did anything to hurt them.
But to Joyce's relief, the castle’s enormous rose garden gradually turned into soil for crops. She sat in front of the soil that seemed to hold a huge amount of fertility and looked excitedly at the man next to her.
“Sean, you said you would take me to the School of Magic when I transformed the rose garden.” Joyce's eyes were full of curiosity and delight. “Can we go now?”
“Yes.”
The carriage passed through the massive market, and Joyce tightened her cloak.
They had to pass through the capital to get to the School of Magic.
Joyce cautiously checked out the bustling market. Each building seemed to hold an ancient and mysterious power. With curiosity and eagerness, her eyes landed on the pedestrians talking to each other.
“Do you like it here?” Sean randomly asked.
Joyce was a little surprised and nodded. She immediately put away the look of disappointment that flashed across her face and smiled. “How far away is the School of Magic? Can we get there before dark? Speaking of the School of Magic… does everyone fly around on brooms there? What kind of magic does everyone study? And, and…”
“With so many questions, which one should I answer first?”
“Oh… This…”Joyce smiled sheepishly. “I’m just so excited…”
Sean's eyes were gentle. “We will get there before dark. As for the School of Magic… Why do you want to ride a broom? But you can ride one if you want. Magic is probably divided by the elements. I can take you to a place where you test the elements.”
“Really?” Joyce's eyes lit up. “Oh, also, also, did both Gods of Light graduate from the School of Magic? What about you? Did you graduate here too?”
“Mhm.” Sean lightly looked out of the window. “When Aretha was a student, Cassinio… was her instructor.”
“What?” Joyce's eyes sparkled. “Teacher and student love? I like it! So how did they get together? A chaste teacher and a beautiful student. During class he will teach math, and after class he will, tee hee… oh my gosh!”
“…”
Joyce quickly straightened out her expression. “What I mean is, uh, they have a great love that can overcome any obstacles!”
“…”
“So where are they now? Do they live in seclusion together?”
“I don't know.”
“I really want to meet that girl who became a god…” Joyce murmured. Thinking of Sean's words, she looked around in disappointment, and asked another question, “Can I try the element test you talked about?”
“Mhm,” Sean answered softly, he subtly glanced at her eager expression. His eyes had a glimmer of tenderness that he was oblivious to.
