And immediately after dismissing the level-up note, I go ahead and find a nice random tree to sit down on above a bunch of golem demon corpses. Then I proceed to open my Skills List.

Huh. That’s… actually not half bad.
I can burn away the enemies’ magic power or Wrath energy with this.
A smile stretches across my face at that. Then I fly upwards a bit before moving in the direction of the closest monster.
Or closest test subject, to be exact.
The monster in question turns out to be one of those apes. And when I activate the skill, I find a stream of black and crimson flames – mostly black – shooting out of my hands straight at the ape in question. But instead of burning the ape alive or reducing it to ash like my other Wrath flames do when I directly manipulate Wrath energy, these flames do something… rather different.
And rather odd looking at that.
The flames look like they’re pouring themselves into the monster’s pores and any openings it has on its body. So its mouth, nose, ears, and so on. Then the flames proceed to move through its body from the inside out, burning their way through the ape’s veins and any other paths of blood flow.
Yet despite all of this, the ape doesn’t seem to be in much pain. Mostly just discomfort.
I’m also not sure if that discomfort is because I start dangling it by the creature’s tail to hold it still at some point or from the flames.
Probably both.
Anyways, the flames continue moving through the ape’s body until they reach every last inch of its body.
Then the ape explodes, making me close my eyes and mouth to stop its insides from splashing inside of me.
Okay, that was… gross. And unexpected.
I try to wipe my eyes, only to find that my arm is just as much covered in the ape’s gore as my face. So I just fry it all with Wrath lightning before opening my eyes again to look at the remains. Of which there are none.
Nothing but splatter. Everywhere.
Okay, so it’s a delayed attack, then? Floods their body before bursting all at once without dealing any damage until then?
That could be useful.
What I find more interesting though is the fact that it’s a ten level skill and not a thirty level skill like the other ones I’ve gotten up till now. So it is more similar to Fangs and Claws of Wrath. Both of which I should start leveling a bit at some point soon.
Although they are more expensive to level, including the new skill. Even if each level gets a bigger boost than the thirty level skills.
So that could be annoying.
I did spend some of my EXP on my skills in the past month or so that I’ve been here, but spending a lot more on it on my skills…
A few seconds pass as I purse my lips while sitting on a cloud of Wrath lightning. Then I just shake my head.
Whatever. I’ll just level up Claws of Wrath.
After that I’ll level up the new skill once, just to make it so that it’s not at level one, and go back to leveling up myself.
I need to keep my level high to deal with that general. So leveling myself is a major priority, but so is keeping up with my skills.
And with that plan in mind, I leave the splatter of blood and gore that I’m sure is going to startle anyone who sees it to head in the direction of the closest sources of Wrath energy. Where monsters are no doubt located.
Time to resume my hunt.
