Chapter 176: Interview Part 5 Last
"Is there anything more you have to ask me?" Mio asked with a light tone as she grabbed the tea from the table and drank it by lifting her mask a little because she was simply too lazy to use Magic or rather it was too painful, she just let everyone see her chin and lips without care.
But this action of her's caused everyone in the room to stand up and gasp in shock and it was like the whole whole had come to a stop as nothing was moving because they simply couldn't believe that the extremely illusive Goddess of Death would actually show a tiny part of her face for the public to see. No one even dreamed of that becoming possible.
"No need to be so worked up, if I can use my Magic normally I would have used it, but I can't," Mio said with a light smile, and for the first time, everyone actually saw her smiling even though it was just a small part of it, and even though it was just her lips showing, it was so beautiful in everyone's eyes that her beauty already enticed them.
"Ahem… Umm… ahh, moving on. Could the Goddess speak more about her relationship with the Saintess, of course, the Goddess can refuse to answer this if it seems too private. We will respect your decision." After getting out of her stupor, Atago cleared her throat and asked another question.
Though again she didn't know if she should ask this as it was a topic that was very sensitive for her, especially now that she got to know that there was no possible way for her Goddess to be in a relationship because of the curse that she bears.
"Ohh… Well… This is fairly awkward but, it's nothing special. We are just friends, though I can freely say that I'm a lot closer to her than Solar and the other two who are also my friends. What you saw in the World Meeting was just me trying to tease her because I know how she's going to react." Mio said with an awkward laugh because she couldn't make a clone of her to control so the clone would be the one to do the answering for her so that it wouldn't seem too awkward for her.
But because she didn't, it looked even more suspicious and even she could see it because of how she reacted, though that's what she really felt because she's not going to lie that she's a narcissist, and there's no shame in that, at least in her mind. But then at the corner of her eye, she saw Solar trying to contain her laughter which made her nerve bulge in anger as she was only making it worse by acting in such a way.
"Anyways, that is it. Nothing more, nothing less." Mio said with a forced smile before glaring at Solar who instantly stood still and acted as if nothing had happened.
"I see… well to wrap up our interview. Does the Goddess have any words for the world that she wants to say, whether it's for the next generation or the current?" Atago said with a smile as she placed the papers back on the table there was no need for it anymore as this question was basically the ending of it all.
When Mio heard the final question, she froze as she didn't expect such a question to be asked, especially when she was not good at answering such a question. So she was left pondering what to actually say to all of them without breaking anyone's heart too much, but it was a lot harder than it seemed.
Solar who was watching knew the dilemma that Mio was in as she also knew that she was bad in this, words or rather just words of encouragement since that is what basically it is for the last question, Mio was simply horrible at it. So she was trying to help her, but Mio refused to look at her, determined that she would do it all on her own.
"Don't concern yourself with the Future, because it's still in the future, there is still a long way to go. The same thing goes for your Past, since it already happened, it's done, so why bother? The only thing you need to concern yourself with is the Present because it's the thing that shapes both your Past and Future." Mio said with a light smile before continuing.
"Is that satisfactory enough for you, Atago?" Mio asked, and once her words left her mouth, everyone was stunned. None of them expected her to actually say such a thoughtful word for everyone to hear because she had always been crude and straightforward.
But this time her words were full of life and even motivating for the most part which is the most shocking part about it, and it especially fits for everyone considering their current situation.
"Ohh… Thank you for such words, Goddess. We will definitely take what you said to heart." Atago said with a gentler smile as she was like everyone else. She was so touched by Mio's words, that she simply stood up along with her term and bowed their heads towards Mio as a gesture of gratitude for what she had done for them this time.
"No need, your interview was pleasant actually. It made me think if I should do more of this, but anyway. Thank you as well, Atago and your team. Let the Palace escort you back because it's the least that they can do, right?" Mio said with a light smile as she just waved her hand signaling for them to stop before looking towards Solar who already called in someone to do what she asked.
"Thank you, Goddess… you really didn't have to do this, but I don't think it's right if we refuse," Atago said with a slight blush because of embarrassment as she didn't expect her to be so kind to them even though they were just some normal people, so they were naturally very grateful.
"You don't have to thank me, it's just common courtesy at this point, regardless of who you are, it's just normal at this point," Mio answered lightly as she just shook her head.
With that, Atago and her team finally left with smiles hanging down on their faces after such an eventful day, and they already knew that this was just the start because in the future there are going to be more of this. Especially when the contract that Solar made their Agency sign is for a lifetime, meaning they are going to be the ones who will be the official reporter and interviewer of the 13 great heroes and much greater, their Goddess.
Basically, their Future was set in stone and nothing would be able to break it unless they did something stupid which they would avoid with all of their strength. It's not every day someone could get such a privilege.
"It seems that they are extremely happy and glad, why is that? This was just a normal interview?" Mio asked lightly as she removed her mask and took a deep breathe as it took a lot of power and will for her to still be awake right now.
But her question just made everyone in the room laugh because the answer was simple yet Mio couldn't grasp it.
