He had been silent too long.

Arjun knelt beneath the chalice's shadow. The Temple of Tongues lay quiet now. Not dead—no, the Temple never died—but dormant. As if holding its breath.

The black ink on the wall behind him had dried. Tongue without leash. Still fresh enough to sting.

The cloak of silence he wore was soaked at the hem. With blood? With Doctrine? It was impossible to tell.

He rose slowly.

Outside, the wind howled—not natural wind, but something older, like the exhale of a continent waking from a long, sacred sleep.

He stepped past the gates.

They didn't creak. They moaned.

And once outside, the color of the world changed.

---

The world beyond the Temple had shifted.

The trees near the Shrine of Origins were gone—burned to ash. The fig tree remained, its limbs contorted like a dancer caught mid-death.

But beyond that, something new shimmered. A horizon he had never seen. A river with golden silt. And across it, a forest that blinked.

Not waved. Not moved.

Blinking. Like it knew it was being watched.

Arjun felt the whisper in his head again.

> "Every Doctrine has a root. But not all roots grow upward."

He didn't know if it was the Chalice, or the Temple, or something more ancient. But it was no longer just his voice in his head.

It was a chorus.

And one of them had begun to bleed.

---

Saanvi was gone. But her shadow remained.

She had followed him without footsteps. Left without doors. He knew he would see her again—because something had passed between them in the Temple.

Not love.

Something older. More binding.

> A secret shared at the cost of destiny.

He stepped onto the cracked stone path that led east, toward the lands of Part III—lands beyond maps, beyond Doctrine.

A bridge of words followed him. Ghost-phrases that dissolved as he walked:

> "The girl who bites dreams."

> "The Library that eats names."

> "The Fifth Force speaks through flesh."

He did not look back.

For ahead, the sky tore like wet silk—and from it, a creature emerged, not entirely real, not entirely shadow. A woman-shaped riddle.

Her voice was not heard. It was bled.

And it said only this:

> "Welcome to the other side of belief, Arjun. Here, tongues die screaming."
