The Bizarre Wizarding World

Chapter 409: The Descent of the Magic Tide_3

Cave Monsters surged forward like a tide, first emerging from ordinary burrows, and then stirring within the especially large ones.

A mushroom-like creature peeked out from one of the holes, at first very tiny, but in the next few breaths, it swelled with the wind and completely filled the cave, like a giant umbrella propped in the field.

Then, fine spores as small as plant ash fluttered down from the massive mushroom cap, settling like a fine drizzle over the boundless rice fields.

But these spores were not bearers of vitality; they were the harbingers of destruction.

The barley, barely budding at the top of the stalks and yet to plump up, met with their wilting fate.

Grey-black spores landed on them first, and in the next instant, they were drenched in black, withering away like ashes after burning, falling to the ground.

The barley stalks could not escape this fate of degeneration, and even the earth itself could not escape!

The black spores eventually took root in the field, sprouting little mushrooms, and a gloomy ink color spread outward from the roots of the mushrooms.

And those wheats that were not stained by the spores but grew in the ink-tainted soil also began to decay!

The land seemed to be becoming unfit for plants to grow.

"What...what on earth is happening?"

When Jennifer and the three remaining Official Wizards of the Roon Family arrived at the outskirts of Golden Barley, they were greeted by this scene.

"The cave... The Cave Blight has come!"

The pained cries of patrolling Knights, intermixed with various shouts, faintly reached them.

"Cave Blight...?"

"It's strange."

"Regardless, we must hurry back to Neustadt for help!"

"Help... Heh, you should worry about yourselves first."

As the Wizards of the Roon Family prepared to rush back to the city, two Wizards suddenly emerged from the shadows.

"Who are you?" the middle-aged Wizard leading the Roon Family asked warily.

Antoine didn't answer but instead looked at York beside him and whispered:

"Cover for me, I'm going to use the method left by our superior, quick battle, quick decision!"

"Alright!"

A blood-red spear suddenly materialized in Antoine's hands, he raised his arm and launched the spear!

Whoosh!

The blood-red spear was terrifyingly formidable, seizing the hearts of everyone present.

"No good, a Second Rank attack, everyone scatter and flee!"

The next second, the head Wizard of the Roon Family reacted, hastily shouting an alarm and leading the escape to the left!

The remaining Wizards also turned to scatter like birds and beasts, having just escaped from the Lightless Forest, they understood what the true choice was. They had to preserve the seed of the Roon Family!

Sadly, Jennifer's power was only that of an Advanced Apprentice, and although her reaction was quick, she was inevitably slower than the other Official Wizards. The spear was quickly catching up to her.

Come on, Jennifer, don't give up!

The girl clenched her teeth, striving to fly faster, hoping to grasp a strand of life.

Had it been another day, tears would have already started streaming down her face with the footsteps of death closing in. But now her eyes remained tearless.

Tears are useless... Jennifer bit her lip, continuing to channel the Magic Power within her, but she could still feel the sharpness of the spear behind her, despair welling up inside her.

Bang!

However, the next second, a grand figure descended from the sky, reaching out and gently grasping the blood-red spear, snapped it, crushing it into powder.
