On the battlefield, the order of the wizards was strictly enforced, even in a place like the Roon Kingdom. Unless Colin, as the team captain, issued a command, anyone who dared to flee on their own would end up worse off than if they had stayed.

So, even if they were extremely afraid of the giant deer, Welber didn't dare retreat first unless the situation became absolutely dire.

"Hmm," Colin nodded slightly, "Retreat carefully, gradually increasing the distance, and wait for Erwin to come to support."

Welber and Ward both sighed with relief.

The three of them quietly moved backwards.

However, just at that moment, the gray deer that had missed its attack and simply stood there suddenly let out a piercing scream, charging forward crazily enveloped in rolling black smoke.

"No good!"

The expressions of Welber and the others changed drastically as they quickly increased the distance between themselves and the threat.

However, they soon realized something was wrong—

Was this deer, perhaps, targeting Colin?

Colin frowned at the irrational deer monster in front of him, cursing his bad luck inwardly.

Why me, of all people?

Colin suddenly changed direction, trying to shake off the pursuing deer monster.

At the same time, his gaze instinctively shifted to the direction of the Golden Barley, hoping Erwin would arrive as quickly as possible.

But he had underestimated the speed of the gray and white deer; in just a moment, it had already closed the distance to within five meters.

The Wizard Erwin had not yet arrived.

There was no choice... Colin calculated that unless he wanted to reveal his Second Rank flight speed, he would inevitably be caught by the deer monster.

So, weighing his options, he waved his hand and summoned a Second Rank Intermediate Fire Element.

Flying speed and the Frost Shadow were both abilities he tried not to reveal if possible, otherwise it would be easy to expose the flaws related to the past incident of killing a member of his own School.

The movement of summoning the Fire Element caused Welber and Ward to be slightly taken aback.

'What a shame... A Golden Feather is going to fall today,' Welber's face showed a trace of sorrow as he sighed involuntarily.

Ward just silently sped up his flight a bit more, feeling relieved that the deer monster had chosen Colin and prayed that the Golden Feather could hold on for one more second.

However, moments later, the two of them realized something was off.

They both turned to glance back simultaneously, their faces turning rigid as if struck by lightning.

In front of Colin, a fiery figure wrapped in flames was aggressively charging toward the gray and white deer.

The figure had not yet reached the deer, but the waves of scorching heat that swept along had already dispersed some of the smog surrounding the deer monster.

From its blazing white color and the crown-like protrusion on its head, Welber and Ward recognized it was a Fire Element of at least Second Rank!

"How... how is this possible?"

"That's a Second Rank Fire Element?!"

The two of them stopped their flight actions simultaneously, staring in shock at the battle unfolding behind them.

Colin... could actually summon a Second Rank Fire Element?!

The deer monster was only at Basic Level Second Rank, and it was already wounded, so naturally, it was no match for the Second Rank Intermediate Fire Element that Colin had summoned.

So the outcome of the battle was unsurprising, and Colin was victorious.

"Colin, are you all right?"

"I'm fine..." Colin caught his breath and deliberately pretended to have exhausted too much Magic Power.

He looked at Welber and Ward who had flown over, then glanced at the far horizon, suddenly a doubt arose in his heart, and he asked them:

"How come Erwin has not arrived yet?"

"Perhaps he's preoccupied with something and hasn't noticed," Welber guessed.

However, it wasn't long before Welber realized his guess was terribly wrong.

The Wizard Erwin had disappeared!
