The Billionaire’s Secret Bride

Chapter 13: Chapter 13: The Daring Clown Girl!

It really was Nathan Fu.

Sophie recognized him instantly just by his voice.

So… she had hidden in Nathan Fu's bed just to avoid Julian?

What twisted fate was this? How many times had she already ended up in this man's bed?

Sophie felt like she had dug her own grave. She held her breath, trying to lie flat and invisible under the quilt, praying that neither uncle nor nephew would notice her.

"Uncle," Julian's voice rang out, full of excitement, "I heard from Dad that you recently married the most stunning woman in all of Eastbridge—Sierra Su! And you didn't even tell me? I want to meet my aunt right now!"

Nathan had just stepped out of the shower, dressed in a crisp white robe. The light mist clung to his skin, accentuating his chiseled features. He looked as calm and untouchable as ever. He replied coolly, "You can come to the house for dinner in a few days."

"I need to see for myself what kind of beauty managed to snatch my uncle's heart," Julian teased.

Under the covers, Sophie listened in silent panic. Then she felt the weight shift on the bed—Nathan was getting in.

No! Please don't come any closer!

Her heartbeat pounded in her ears, but heaven must have turned a deaf ear to her plea. The quilt lifted, and Nathan got in.

He noticed something was off the moment he lay down—someone was already under the covers.

He had encountered this trick before. Wealthy businessmen often tried to please him by sending women into his bed, sometimes even naked under the sheets.

His eyes narrowed. Who dared to try this again?

He flung back the quilt—and there she was. That clown girl. That little maid.

Nathan's expression darkened instantly, the air around him freezing cold. His handsome face was grim, lips tightly pressed in disdain. This little maid had the nerve to sneak into his bed?

Julian, who couldn't see clearly from his angle, was still fiddling with his phone. "Uncle, have you seen Sophie? The clown girl? I heard she was at the Yunli Hotel too, but she's not answering my calls."

Nathan snorted softly. That clown girl? She's in my bed.

Sophie wanted to disappear into a hole. Her small face flushed bright red, like a freshly boiled lobster. She had no idea how to explain herself.

Desperate, she looked up at Nathan with pleading eyes, silently begging him to stay quiet and not expose her.

Nathan stared at her for a second—was he dreaming? His body tensed. He was about to shove her out of the bed.

But at that moment, Sophie leapt forward and wrapped her arms tightly around his waist.

Her soft body caught him off guard. Nathan instinctively tried to push her away, but she clung to him like a little snake, limbs entwined around him.

Was she… trying to seduce him?

Nathan sat against the headboard, his breath shallow, his Adam's apple bobbing twice. Damn it. A wave of heat surged through him before he could control it.

"Uncle, why aren't you answering?" Julian looked up from his phone.

Thinking quickly, Nathan yanked the quilt over Sophie to shield her from view and said, "No, haven't seen her."

"I'll go check the hallway then. Bye, Uncle!" Julian walked out.

Now, they were alone.

Nathan flipped the quilt aside and barked, "Have you clung to me enough? Let go!"

Sophie had never been this mortified. She quickly unwrapped her arms and opened her mouth to explain—

But her long hair had caught on one of the robe's buttons.

As she tried to turn away, it tugged her back—sending her face crashing right into Nathan's abdomen.

More specifically… much lower than that.
