The Billionaire CEO Betrays his Wife: He wants her back

Chapter 6: Craziest moment-2

"Congratulations boss," the rest follow his pursuit to congratulate the new couple

"Thank you," Mara lets out a soft giggle.

As they stepped outside, the cool evening breeze kissed Mara's skin. The flash of cameras from their small but elegant wedding ceremony flickered around them, capturing every moment.

Ethan held her close, his grip firm yet gentle. "You have no idea how long I've waited for this moment," he murmured, placing a soft kiss on her forehead.

Mara chuckled, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Well, Mr. Anderson, you sure didn't waste any time, I'm yours now."

Ethan smirked. "You are mine."

Just then, Steph pulled up in Ethan's sleek black Rolls Royce, jumping out to open the door. "Congratulations, boss, Mrs. Anderson."

Mara slid into the car, her white dress flowing elegantly around her. Ethan joined her, reaching for her hand as the car pulled away from the venue.

Mara glanced at the gold band on her finger, her heart swelling with emotions she couldn't quite name. Everything had happened so fast, yet for the first time in a long time, she felt like she was exactly where she was meant to be.

Ethan squeezed her hand. "So, Mrs. Anderson, where do you want to go for our honeymoon?"

Mara smirked, looking out the window.

"Surprise me."

Ethan leaned in, whispering against her ear,

"That, my love, I intend to do for the rest of our lives."

"Ethan," Mara whispered.

"Tell me, wifey," Ethan responded, his voice warm and attentive.

She hesitated for a moment before speaking.

"None of your family was here today. I understand everything happened so fast. And honestly, I don't talk about my own family much." She took a deep breath. "I was found when I was ten, with no memories of anything before that. I spent days in the police station and hospital. A family adopted me, but I couldn't stay with them. Then I met a friend, and her family took me in and treated me like their own. But... I've never been great with families. It's going to take time for me to adjust to yours, now that we're married."

Mara let out a breath, one of many thoughts she had been holding in.

Ethan listened intently as if he hadn't already known the story. It meant something to hear her say it, to trust him enough to share it. And that, more than anything, made him feel like they were truly becoming family.

Ethan wrapped his arms around Mara, pulling her close. "You don't have to worry," he said gently. "I do have a mother, but she's in the States. And as for my grandpa... you don't have to meet him until you're ready. That's completely fine. I'll always be with you,

Mara. I promise I will never leave you."

His words meant more to her than he could ever know. Everyone she had ever cared about had left her in the end. But Ethan... he made her feel safe.

Before she could respond, the car slowed, passing through a towering steel gate before stopping in front of a massive mansion.

"We're here," Ethan said, turning to her with a soft smile. "I wanted to show you our new home first. Then, we can head to Paris."

"Our new home?" Mara still couldn't believe how huge the house was, the maids lined up to welcome the new Mrs. home.

"Yes, our new home," Ethan began, but before he could finish, he swiftly scooped Mara into his arms. She let out a small gasp, then laughed as he carried her inside, straight up the grand staircase to their bedroom.

The room was breathtaking, spacious, elegant, and filled with warmth. Mara's eyes lit up as she took it all in. Every detail, every touch felt just right. Ethan had made sure of it, adjusting everything to match her taste perfectly.

"You did all this for me?" she asked, her voice filled with awe.

Ethan smiled, setting her down gently. "Of course. This is our home now. I wanted it to feel like yours too."

Mara swallowed the lump in her throat. She had spent years feeling like she didn't belong anywhere, and yet, here was Ethan, offering her a place she never had to fight for.

She let out a shaky laugh. "I think I made the right choice marrying you, Mr. Anderson." Ethan smirked. "You only think? That hurts, wifey."

Mara rolled her eyes playfully. "Alright, fine. I know I made the right choice."

Ethan leaned in, brushing his lips over her forehead. "Good. Because I don't intend on letting you go."

"About Paris..." Mara hesitated. She would love to go for their honeymoon, but with just two days before she started work on Monday, a trip to Paris didn't seem ideal.

Ethan noticed her hesitation and gently squeezed her hand his thumb tracing small circles over her skin. "That's fine," he said, his voice warm and understanding. "We can go another time. As long as I have you with me, that's all that matters."

Mara smiled, relieved. "I got an email from my supervisor," she explained. "I need to research some cases before Monday, but I promise I'll only work on Sunday."

Ethan listened, but his expression darkened slightly. Who dared to make his wife work on their honeymoon? He made a silent vow to deal with that person very soon.

"Mara... you don't have to explain yourself to me." His voice was soft but firm.

Mara looked at him, searching his face for any hint of judgment, but all she found was warmth.

Ethan continued. "Mrs. Mara Anderson. You don't have to rush anything, you set the pace, and I'll follow."

"Great. That being said... you're on your own to plan something for us tonight and tomorrow," Mara whispered with a playful smile, though a hint of nervousness lingered in her voice.

She was trying her best to keep Ethan occupied, for a reason. She thought she was ready, but now that they were here, alone together, she couldn't understand why she felt so nervous about him being close to her.

Ethan studied her for a moment, sensing something beneath her teasing tone. But instead of pushing, he simply smiled. he said, "I can work with that," his voice warm and reassuring.

Mara couldn't stand being in her wedding dress any longer. Spotting the wardrobe in the corner, she walked over and pulled it open. Her eyes widened in surprise, inside was a variety of clothes, yet almost none of them belonged to her. Then she noticed something else: the two sets of drawers contained none of Ethan's belongings.

She turned to face him, confusion written all over her face. Was this just her bedroom? Weren't they supposed to share a room?

Ethan caught her expression and chuckled softly. "I'd love nothing more than to be the one to take that dress off you," he teased, "but I get it. I'll give you some space." He stood up from the bed, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. "Get changed and come outside, I'll cook us something." With that, he headed for the door.

Mara stood frozen, watching him go. She couldn't believe how much space and respect he was giving her. She remembered throwing him out of the room once before, was that why he was leaving now? Did he think she was about to do it again?

But all she had been was surprised... surprised that they weren't going to share a room at all.

"Ethan!"

His name slipped from her lips before she could stop herself. She hadn't even thought, it just came out.
